Telling Michael to sit his ass down in the reaction knowing he’s the coldest performer of all time is CRAZY 😂😂
Ngl.. the glaze was insane right here😭
@@sl_1k lol is he not? I really liked the reaction tho lol
@@sl_1k he is the coldest performer of all time..
@@randyhooper2837 you're right, Randy!
😂😂😂
Fun Fact: Angela Bassett and Michael are both the same age and both of their birthdays are in August
Fire
Born on the same year, too!!
Makes me happy Michael is a Virgo ♍ just like me.
Fellow Virgo here I didn't know that ❤😊
@@sl_1kI don't eat flats never been a fan bro love your stuff you funny asl
Another Fact: Michael and Marlon, born close in age, shared a special bond. Marlon, being just seventeen and a half months older, saw Michael as a replacement for his late twin brother Brandon, who passed away shortly after birth.
Katherine had polio as a child which caused her limp. Also the mini series was based on interviews that the Jackson’s did. Jermaine and his then common law wife produced it. Jermaine’s son acted in it. I think the brothers had a chance to make peace with their father and his parenting but this probably represented what happened but they probably don’t judge their father as harshly about it. And the family doesn’t seem to want the public to judge Joseph too harshly because of all he did for the family.
True as Michael said there was way more to it than just getting whipped with a belt
Thank you. I was going to say the same thing.
“Chiseled sexy man” TOOK ME CLEAN OUT 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Could the little guy playing kid Michael get any more adorable?!?! 🥰
Jason weaver
"How bout... Michael"
And thus our future star was born.
I feel like this is why Michael was a perfectionist
Yeah it was
Yes, it's because his father would beat him until he got it right.
Yeah, I think part of why Michael Jackson was such a perfectionist comes from his upbringing. Joseph Jackson pushed him hard, sometimes even harshly, to get everything perfect. That ambition and drive to be the best with no mistakes likely came from those experiences
Joe was WAY worst in real life. Don't forget, this was the dude trying to push his new music act at his son's BET tribute in 2009. Mike just died and the first thing joe has to say since his son died was "yeah, but I also want to say check out this new group I'm managing." Lol, dude had some crazy moments.
Nah.. I didn’t know that, that’s honest crazy
He only cared about money
When tf was this😂
@@tbonessteak2523 BET Awards 2009
He never cared about Michael all he ever cared about was making money.
He couldn't care less that Michael had died.
He got what he wanted from Michael using him as a Pawn to make Money.
Michael really was the bold one fighting his Daddy child
🤣🤣 like fr the only one
Michael fight back out of fear
Siblings always have different opinions of their parent.
Younger siblings often call out behavior they reflect on as toxic and violent and older ones almost always minimize or dismiss.
Thats not always true, my younger siblings see my parents as angels when I know they aren’t. A lot of the times it is the other way around of you her siblings defending their parents
I am weak. You really just ask why they’re dancing slow minutes after she just said that she had polio when she was a kid. They literally had a whole conversation and he still asked😂
I’m jus a lil slow that’s all :(
It’s okay I only noticed cause I had an great aunt with polio
It was a made for TV movie/miniseries but it's still one of the best, most historically accurate biopics ever made. There's some corny acting here and there but for the most part the cast perfectly nailed their roles and really captured the essence of the characters and their respective roles within the family and the journey. Angela Bassett and Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs are on fuckin point. Both gave a tour de force performance and deserve infinite credit. Jason Weaver was also super impressive given his young age and spot on portrayal of young Michael. I wish we could have seen more of him over the years, he had real talent and potential.
Jason still acts till this day
@@deljean Terrence Howard too
@@eriecowson1878 lol i mean yea i know tht,he's everywhere pretty often.
there are Boys2Men, ( susanne de passe (motown) is a singer too)
Joe Jackson was way worse. He was actually abusive to their mother as well. They kinda watered down just how bad he really was in this movie😂 that’s why Michael and the older brothers HATED that man.
I really hated how the toned down his abusive tendencies.
I get the chills when he's singing climb every mountain
The group singing near the end that was picking on Jackie was Boyz II Men I can’t believe I never caught that lmao
Why they hatin on them for, they sounded good on the side walk😭
56:09 Ladies and gentlemen, the world's greatest entertainer, singing Climb Every Mountain, here is Michael Jackson!! ❤❤🥲🥲🥲
Bro your naturally funny! 😂 I’m dying to this reaction 💀
Thank you 😂
Jason Weaver nailed it as pre teen Michael!
Yes he did man, I couldn’t believe it😭
@@sl_1k
I forgot his name and had to look it up, he also sang as Young Simba in The Lion King 😁
HEY SLK THE YOUNG MICHAEL JACKSON 10-14 IS JASON WEAVER HE IS A MULTI TALENTED ACTOR ITS HIS REAL VOICE SINGING IN THE MICHAEL JACKSON SONGS HES ALSO A DOPE DANCER. JASON WAS THE VOICE FOR BABY SIMBA IN THE ANIMATED VERSION OF THE LION KING. HE WAS ALSO IN A TELEVISON SERIES THAT LASTED 4 YEARS.I REALLY DIG JASON WEAVER.
That’s Boyz II Men singing in front of the houses I didn’t know they were in this movie
Crazy how the actor who played Michael was on the movie 🎥 ATL (2007)
Rly?
This is one of the first bio series that was really good. Now there’s the new edition series and salt & pepper one. It’s a classic & tells you so much about the family.
RUN, MICHAEL, RUN!!!! 😂😂😂46:06
Omg your commentary is hilarious!! You said "don't talk in my ear like that" I'm dying laughing bc I'm like bra what?😂😂😂😂im weak
😭😭😭😭
1:13:00 It's with a heavy heart to say that Michael's only friend from childhood has been wrongfully killed😥😢😭
I'm happy you chose this film. Joseph treated Michael and Marlon harshly. Marlon used to get it too for missing dance steps, but that has since changed, with Marlon emerging as the group's greatest dancer behind Michael, proving that the practice paid off.
I believe Marlon missing dance steps stopped because Michael helped him with them, not because of the wrongful beatings!! ❤
@@ashleyfordham-harper4807 Perhaps Marlon needed to put in 10 times as much work as Michael did in order to receive the respect he deserves. Marlon would need to practice alone constantly without making mistakes in order to become just as organized as his siblings.
Joe was way more aggressive in real life. Michael once said he was almost choked unconscious and also strip them oil them up and beat them
Wtf..
@@sl_1k yeah…
@@sl_1k double child abuse but back in the day they just called it discipline
that's how they disciplined back then. The same thing happened to my parents. My Mom is the same age as Jermaine and my Dad is the same age as Jackie. My grandparents were the same age as Joe and Katherine. If you had black parents from the South...that's how they disciplined. You got hit with tree branches, extension cords, whatever was around. That wasn't called abuse back then...it was just discipline. It sounds f_up now...but it was what it was. I got spanked when I was a kid, but nothing like that. I think my parents hated how they were treated so they didn't go overboard with us.
@@lisacox3750 Don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying that you outright claimed or suggested that this type of physical discipline “only occurred in black families from the South” or just black families in general-it’s pretty evident that you didn't.
I just wanted to say/share that this type of punishment occurs within many white families as well, especially back in those times *[when the Jackson brothers and sisters were growing up] and prior, as you had mentioned.
This type of punishment/discipline didn't just occur in black and white families and was common for families of other cultures and races, as well; I'm sure you get the point, though, lol.
My older brother and I didn't even need to see my dad taking his belt off at a certain age because we could *hear* it before he got anywhere close to taking it off entirely, which gave us time to prepare or, most commonly, time to book it the fuck out of wherever we were and try to barricade ourselves in our rooms, lol. 💀
It was either last Christmas or the one prior when our mom got us T-shirts that said “wooden spoon survivor” on them as a silly gift that we both genuinely got a kick out of-the funny thing is that the person that got us with the spoon on the ass the most was our mom’s best friend back in MN when we still lived there once upon a time, lol.
With that said, there are generations upon generations of us from all different families, cultures, walks of life, etc., who all share similar experiences in this regard.
Something that tends to frustrate me is how often people who are fans of the Jacksons, especially a significant amount of Michael’s fans, will feel the need to bring up, discuss, tell others, etc., how Joesph disciplined/punished the kids *[particularly the boys]* over and over and over again while never mentioning, taking into consideration, or even seem to think about *why* Joe was the way he was or *why* he did things in the manner that he did, precisely.
The same thing happens with an unfortunate amount of fans regarding other aspects of Joesph, as well, such as his demeanor with the kids, how he didn't show much affection, his demands that the kids call him Joesph instead dad or daddy, and more.
To understand Joesph adequately and fairly, people have to inform themselves and understand how Joe grew up, how he got raised, the circumstances, events, and so on of his childhood, and what the climate was amongst society, such as what people knew, didn't know, what people were used to, any commonly known or unknown information, etc.
Way too many people nowadays, just in general, forget or are ignorant of the fact that everything that is common knowledge surrounding behavioral health, how specific things, parenting techniques, environments, and more can impact our children adversely, the resources we have today, how accessible resources and outside help is for people, plus so much more, was not the same or even remotely close in many aspects of that years and years and then some prior.
It's this continuously demonstrated attempt by a baffling number of people to apply today’s “standard,” societal climate, or way of going about things to things that occurred during vastly different times and “standards” that very much represents what I'm talking about and what you touched on in your response.
Joe was a complex, complicated, and imperfect human being who had a unique and individual journey through life with specific sets of events, circumstances, situations, etc., etc., ultimately, that shaped Joeseph into who he was and why like each-and-every one of us in this physical world, so whenever I see people drag Joe publicly online/on social media, ridicule him, or act as if he was just this “terrible” and “cold-hearted” person who “beat his kids” and nothing more, it is immensely frustrating, sad, and disheartening to see-it doesn't matter if it's Joesph or someone else because way too many people act this way and do this shit no matter who it is, unfortunately.
Sorry for the rant-I just needed to get that off my chest, I guess, lol.
True story is Jackie did get drafted to play major league baseball i forgot what team but he turned it down
You put a hurtin' on dem wings.😄 "Did they have rubbers back then?"😂 Like it's 100B.C. or something. "Didn't he have no pull out game?" 😝
Good thing they didn't use contraception or there would be no 1st family of music.❤
Baby I need your loving by four tops is one of my favorite songs
Same!
This movie was my childhood.
Yes
According to LaToya, Joseph was actually worse in real life.
Hilarious ass reaction 🤣. I love this movie so much and always sing the songs with them😂

I have seen this movie before but I love watching it over and over. It is a great movie, Joe was to stick on the children most of the time.

The intro soundtrack to this gives me the chills. Along with the beautiful clips. Uuufff
You’re awesome brotha Thank You for reacting to this in full brotha this Movie/TV Special is a CLASSIC!🙏🏽🙌🏽👑❤️💕💯(The only thing that ever bothered me about this movie is they got the year wrong when MJ was recording “Human Nature” cause Thriller came out in 1982 they got him recording it in 1983 lol minor mistake but definitely important cause it wouldn’t make any sense realistically. Also it’s crazy that Boyz II Men were in this movie as well today they’re known as Thee Best Selling R&B Group Of All Time and props to Jason Weaver who did all the vocal performances and acting as 1966 MJ and his Motown Days he killed this role he embodied MJ truly!)
Yes Jason weaver is a fuckin goat man, it almost made me cry when I saw him lmao. Appreciate the support bro!
@@sl_1k Always brotha! And yes he’s def a Goat in the acting world and just a pure talent frfr.
Jason Weaver is currently playing on Showtime series "THE CHI"
I love this reaction!!!!👏🏾You’re right. If it wasn’t for Joe or even Katherine they wouldn’t be who they are today but I do think Joe did a little too much at disciplining his kids. He pushed Mike into a bunch of instruments and made him bleed😬 I read plenty more of stories about how he handled them. It’s a difference between whooping and actually abusing your kids. I do give a lot of credit to Joe for believing in his kids and wanting a better life but I don’t agree with the other things he did. I’m reading a MJ book and it tells a lot about the Jackson’s especially Mike himself that barely anyone really knows. I suggest people read it. It’s called The magic, the madness, the whole story by J Randy Taraborrelli
YES SIRR ! 🔥 classic 90’s film
