This dude was about to take over the whole world a 2nd Time. Witnesses said that he would sometimes not show up to rehearsals which was very odd as well as shivering on stage. Kenny Ortega would force him to sit down and eat something and put some blankets on him. People say that he was paranoid yet he was the only one who knew that he’s gonna die. At that time, he called people and wrote letters in which he stated that something bigger than the government was trying to get him, that he doesn’t care anymore, that they can take him, that he only wanted his children to be safe, that AEG is putting too much pressure on him and that people were trying to get his Catalogue. Before he announced his last Tour, Randy Phillips literally went to Michael’s bedroom and woke him up by giving him a slap & pushed him into his shower because he overslept - as well as Phillips making fun of Michael when he went over to his house to discuss some stuff about the Tour. That was all told in court. Crazy how he was treated and no one really saw it. They knew what they was doing. Going from 10 to 50 shows? Pressuring that many shows on a 50 year old that’s obviously not doing well? Come on now. And although everything happened, Michael would’ve taken over the world with that Tour AGAIN. Lord I love this man so much. May he rest in Peace.

It is sad to see. He was dealing with insomnia, anorexia, reliant on medication which Conrad completely took advantage of. His makeup artist talks all about it, he was dealing with breakdowns, paranoia etc, all during this. Its crazy he had any energy to begin with during this time, to me it just shows his dedication to his craft and everything he put into it.

@@sl_1k he never thought about himself, he always put other people before him. he was never satisfied with himself because he was such a perfectionist. i hope he is at peace now, he truly deserves it after all he has done for everyone. he broke racial barriers, he brought people together, he saved so many lives.

❤️❤️❤️ I remember seeing this in the movie theater. You could hear a pin drop. Nobody left during the credits. People of all races and ages. Nobody literally left until the screen went dark. Never experienced that in a movie theater before

A few quick fun facts about this movie and the This Is It concerts:
1. The setlist for the concerts was largely dictated by the fans. A fan poll was set up for fans to vote on which songs they wanted to see Michael perform and the crew narrowed the votes down to the top 20-25 or so songs. Michael himself selected "Smooth Criminal" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" as the first songs to make the setlist.
2. The movie omits some songs from the setlist because the cast and crew felt that Michael wouldn't have been fully comfortable with the way they would've been presented (Jackson being a notorious perfectionist). These songs included "Stranger in Moscow", the Off the Wall Medley ("Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Rock With You"), "Dangerous", "Dirty Diana", a medley of "We Are the World" and "Heal the World" (although the latter is briefly played in the credits), "You Are Not Alone", and "Will You Be There".
3. Jackson's primary motivation for doing the tour was supporting his children financially. It later got out that he was in serious financial debt during this time due to several lawsuits that followed his infamous 2005 trial. AEG estimated that Jackson
4. This Is It was originally supposed to run ten shows, but high fan demand led to AEG adding forty more shows on top of that.
5. Jackson's conditions with AEG for doing the tour were A.) Helping find a house in the UK to live in during the tour's duration, B.) find a personal physician who would administer propofol to help him sleep at night, C.) Jackson wanted to break into the film industry and later set up a deal to host a series of yearly Halloween specials for CBS, and D.) When the last show of the tour was performed, the Guinness Book of World Records was there to memorialize it.
6. While working on This Is It, Jackson was working on two other projects: a classical album and one last pop album that later became the controversial "Michael" album.
7. In 2013, Katherine Jackson (Michael's mother) filed a wrongful death lawsuit against AEG Live (the This Is It concert promoters), claiming that AEG played a role in Michael's untimely death. It came to light that Randy Phillips (the head of AEG at the time) was abusive towards Michael, putting excessive pressure on him to rehearse and on Dr. Conrad Murray to give Jackson the propofol Michael wanted to use to help him sleep. Despite these revelations, AEG was eventually found not liable.

In the mid to late 2000s Michael had straight hair, it was a wig he wore to to protect his hair because of the burn that engulfed his hair and face in 1984. After he announced his tour lots of his fans started asking for his curls back. If you watch his very last Earth Song rehearsal before his passing you will see he is wearing a custom made shirt that says curls for my girls 😩😭♥️ I love him sm ♥️ also the mini movie for Smooth Criminal on this tour was epic as fuck and woulda been so cool to see in person
People forget a few things with This is it. Fact 1 he hadn't slept well for so long leading up to this experts still agree be shouldnt of been able to do anything coherent. Fact 2 he would of made easy a $billion dollars from this concert alone plus 3 Guiness records. People saying he was poor haha he had warehouses and Aircraft hangars FULL of antiques that could if paid off anything he owed. Fact 3 this wasn't a comeback tour. It was solely for his fans and his kids. I honestly believe it was a thank you letter to his fans for staying with him. That's why the FANS dictated the set list. Mj wasn't no normal artist. He puts his fans first. Lastly he was rehearing, so he isn't as sharp as he could be. People forget that. He is operating at 20%

Yes, he fell during a performance, leading him to surgery on his nose. He also had an accident during a Pepsi commercial where his head was caught on fire. Yet the man still had fire and pyroglyphids during his shows.

I love this movie so much!! But it’s sad at the same time. I became a fan in 2009 sadly. I wish I’d known him way before he passed but I will say Mike taught me a lot of things and inspired me to be the greatest version of myself. He’ll forever be the king and my inspiration and hero. I always get emotional when man and the mirror comes on this movie cause it really does hit different. What a legend. The world is not the same without him.

This was going to be Thee Greatest Tour To Ever Grace This Earth! This Is It World Tour was gonna set the staple for the next generation simply cause MJ was gonna show all of the rest of the world and music artist/entertainers how it’s done also folks like to exaggerate certain aspects about his This Is It Rehearsals when apparently his nurse during his autopsy said he was in great condition/shape for a 50 Year Old Man and his heart was healthy I don’t wanna get into everything else simply cause we are here for MJ as the Music Artist not his personal life LONG LIVE THEE GREATEST MUSIC ARTIST TO EVER LIVE THE KING OF MUSIC FOREVER!🙌🏽👑💖💕🌟💯(I just truly love the master at work but it is also sad he was going through alot of health issues but he was in shape to do the shows he just wanted his kids to experience him on stage for one of the very last times and also his vocals got rest over some years so this was also some of the best vocals we heard from him in years Live probably since 1996-2001 etc. also when MJ was shaking his legs during “The Way You Make Me Feel” that was more so just him saying you make my legs weak cause of how good you look in association to the track you know MJ always felt the entire composition of the song he was the music also that performance of “Thriller” would’ve been so groundbreaking and innovative the fact MJ coming out of a whole freaking Black Widow is INSANE,and between Billie Jean & Man In The Mirror performances I always shed tears like a new born baby and his speech to his entire staff & crew was beautiful he was 50 but still in his Prime and ready to go)

Ive been a fan Of Michael Jacksons forever i graduated high school in 1996. I came out Gay in 7th grade 1990 and was bullied both verbally and physically i had my small group of friends my friends and The Music of Michael Jackson, Elton John, Queen etc… really got me through some dark times and saved my life in more ways than one. I always believed Michael was innocent i never believed the allegations

great reaction slk! also because no one asked those "ear things" are called "in ear monitors" and their for musicians and live performers who need to hear certain cues, tracks, count ins and other musicians and vocalists. The sequence after thriller is actually just based of his song "Threatened" of the Invincible album. It's basically considered Thriller 2. When you heard michael singing like back then, its actually something called playback which is when they play the vocals from the original recording and mute his actual mic. His drummer, fun fact, actually played with Janet, Elton John, and the jackson 5. He was on the History tour and you can find those videos here on youtube.
Loved this movie (before I found out what was going on behind the scenes and what ppl were doing to him) but I do wish they showed the other songs that were rehearsed in the film

This tour would’ve been amazing. I wish they were able to release new music videos based on his ideas for the tour. Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Earth Song all look awesome in this video. I liked seeing what he put into every performance. 7:12 the man was an amazing performer who didn’t get a childhood. All he wanted to do was make people happy and give other kids what he never had as a kid. He definitely wasn’t ready to call it quits cause his estate wasn’t up to date. He was pushing himself hard on this tour. He wanted it to be the best performance of all time. It’s sad that he didn’t take care of himself near the end. All he wanted to do was perform and make people happy. I saw him in concert once and it was amazing the sound and the way he performed to the crowd. I like how even live he didn’t need to have the ear monitor but they wanted him to use it for this tour. Dealing with bands and other sound things it’s hard to switch to earbuds cause of the difference in quality. 24:16 that’s Kenny Ortega. Michael is paying him to run the show and keep everyone in line. He’s trying to help Michael be relaxed and Michael has a problem letting go cause he has the vision in his mind which I understand. It’s not easy to let go when you want things a certain way. A new documentary coming out about Michael Jackson called “Mirroring Michael Jackson”. It’s in post production now. 33:08 that’s Orianthi she was brand new ready to go on his tour. Michael found her and gave her a shot. She played with Alice Cooper for a bit. She has some good music out. She’s from Australia. Michael did have an accident with a cherry picker during rehearsal for the Dangerous tour and he gets thrown off but held onto the bars. All the roadies were screaming the boss is in trouble. He never lost his composure and yelled at anyone. He left and came back saying “I don’t mean to pull rank, but this needs to be fixed”.
There is no better single artist since Michael Jackson. This was rehearsal, he was doing this every day for a month, but he killed it without even trying. That's MJ. Pure talent and craft.

Thriller dangerous was not in the movie Earth song in heal The world was all from June 24, 2009. This was his final rehearsal so that's why he's wearing the bombers jacket the kung fu pants and the curls for my girl shirt.

@@sl_1k kenny ortega, the director, asked to AEGLive urgently to send Michael to a psychiatrist because his mental health was really bad, he was paranoid and deeply depressed and kenny pointed out specifically that Michael was not read to do those concerts but AEGLive ignored and forced MJ to keep going and made him sign up a contract that said 50 concert.
