Hey , hoping this comment will help someone in the future ,by just cleaning my dads throttle body i got it to work again , obviously you milage may vary (gas pedal was completely dead) and codes were p2112 p2111
Hi there! Is that ok if I replace all those sensors like maf or map sensor, the oxygen sensor, before they fail? Just because I just bought a 2010 ford connect? I'm not sure the last owner did it....thank you for your help!
I found a new throttle body for my 2011 Ford Focus but when we installed it the car didn’t respond well to it. Had to put the old one back. Did we do something wrong?
I have an issue with my 2010 Ford transit connect. Rough idle and surging between 45 and 60 mph. I have tunes it up, cleaned throttle body, replaced cracked air Cleaner hose. Have found no vacuum leaks via the propane torch method and replaced the MAG sensor. I have ran out of options and need your help. I also did the Pcm capacitor drain.
Helpful video. We have been completely stumped with Our 2012 transit. Been to multiple mechanics and no solution yet. It idles rough all the time, and stalls in warm weather or once really warmed up at stop lights or coming to a stop. It has no check engine light, cleaned the throttle body, valves, new plugs, coils, and injectors, but it's consistently getting worse. Any suggestions/ideas?
John Behory III Have you check the air inlet hose for a slit in the bellows that was common on those beside that I would replace the throttle body yes.
Thanks for the input! Unfortunately We replaced the whole throttle body, but no change. Still stalls and idles rough. We know it has no fuel filter so that's not it. This problem is driving us crazy. Any other ideas.
Thanks for the video. I suppose a similar procedure will apply to GM cars as well for the TB replacement. Also, should I disconnect the battery from the start to replace the TB. Thank you for your advice and help in the matter.
Thank you for the video, I am going to attempt this myself after getting swindled around by some mechanics. Anyhow on your relearn battery reset video you talk about losing a finger, but is not mentioned in this video. Am I misunderstood I thought you mention it here. Also if I replace this will it take care of a sticky gas pedal problem? When there is a significant weather change the gas sticks; I throw it into neutral and turn off the car. I have to turn off and on a number of times before it fixes itself. And one more thing, after I got a tune up, I drove about 3 miles and experienced the problem indicated in this video, when I took it back to the mechanic the said they needed to re-learn the TB. However now when I throw into neutral and while I coast to a stop the throttle revs to about 2k rpm and does not assume 800rpms until I come to a complete stop. This is costing me poor gas mileage and is just annoying, therefore I am seeking to fix these problems by changing the TB alto together.Does that make sense though, after a tune up and fuel injector cleaning?Thank you for your timeShannon
in Europe aparently they upgrade the 2.0 TB with one from a turbo car which is the same as the 2.3 (so they said), any idea if the north American 2.3 throttle bodies are bigger?
Hello, I have a problem with Fiesta 2003 1.4 16V. Car sometimes shuts down when I release the accelerator pedal...during the ride. Sometimes idle goes too low for a while. I replaced both lambdas, crankshaft sensor, map sensor. Should I check the camshaft sensor or the issue is in the throttle body (bad position sensor)? No fault codes in diagnostic tool. Thank you!
+themanonthemoon981 If you are concerned about it yes because the unserviceable TPS sensor inside can fail at anytime. Here is the latest version available much cheaper than the Ford dealer-amzn.to/1roy8Yx
I have the 2008 Ford Focus and the car shuts off and goes into anti theft mode. So we needed a new tumbler anyway and I installed and the 2 new keys are programmed. The car starts but will shut off after several minutes and then no start because of the constant flashing light . I did the ground wire like you show on video but again starts , Runs, then shuts down.... any idea?
I just bought a 2011 Ford transit and it sometimes stalls if I stop on a hill or at a junction. Other times it would not stall but if I'm at a hill or junction and I mash the gas to the floor it does absolutely nothing. Then if I put into neutral it revs just fine and I have to switch back to drive to get going. What do you think the problem could be? The throttle body?
I have a 2011 connect xlt that the engine stays on while the key is off, sometimes the dash light start to flicker and then everything turns off any suggestions?
If I need a new fuel pump on my 2012 Transit, does it need to be programmed in with IDS or will it be plug and play with maybe a battery reset? Thanks.
@@msspeedy5528 Thanks. Needs new injectors. They leak down intermittently. I pulled the rail and one sprayed out after shutting down the engine. Replaced it with an old one. Still takes 3 or 4 sec to start every once and a while.
08 ford focus i just replaced the throttle position sensor cost 40 dollars + the mass air sensor 94 dollars now is working like a new car i recommend change this two if you have this problem why because one the mass air sensor start falling will kill you throttle sensor too and but the end you will have you car falling on the road again
Hi I have a ford focus 2009 I just cleaned my throttle body but now it gone into limp mode. I disconnected the negative terminal and negative earth ? Put jumper wire on the negative disconnect and other end on positive waited 20 mins. But engine light still on. I switch engine on car is idling over revving just carnt seem to get it settle. Can you please give me some advice thankyou
Maybe your pedal acceleration sensor has the problem bro.Almost similar symptoms with defective throttle body it will be limp mode too. That is cheaper to replace.Hope could help.
I need your help! I have a 2000 ford focus se and sometimes, maybe every other day, when I first start the car, and when at stop lights/signs, it starts shaking like it's running out of gas even though I always at least keep half a tank. It acts like. Its gonna cut off. When im driving its fine. I just had a tune up and all the spark plugs etc were changed. I just got a brand new battery too. Any idea what it could be?
You have a check engine light at all. How is it if you just start it and let it idle in your driveway? Does it run great then just start shaking like a misfire out of nowhere or does it shake like its going to die until the engine warms up? If it feel like it is going to die do you give it throttle and it ruvs up fine and stay running? You must have a check engine light by now. It appears you either have a large vacuum leak or a misfire and my bet is on the vac leak. Zetec right?
Thank u for responsible! If im in my driveway and its in park it does the same thing. I never tried reving the engine but I will. The first time it happened, which was Nov, the check engine light came on and it went off 3days later. I did notice that after it warms up it does get better. I believe it is a zetec. Im going to take it someplace to see if its a vaccum leak. Thank u!
If it is a zetec you likely have a vacuum leak from the rear pcv line or the front pcv line where it connect to the oil separator it is very common and cheap to fix, they generally create a hissing noise and if you put your finger on the slit where it is leaking the engine will die. Very common.

I would disconnect the battery first yes. The gm vehicles require a relearn procedure with the scan tool. Ours self learns the idle.
