If you want to know why old stuffed bear is so special, it's actually a callback to "Mickey's once upon a Christmas." watch it and you'll get why he treasures it lol.
I actually knew several of my classmates, even after college, still hold some of their stuffed animals good and tight. One girl actually nearly fought the whole volleyball team when they pranked her by messing with her stuffed rabbit.
Someone suggested that it's Goofy that forgot the lesson from last time instead of Max, while Max isn't happy Goofy's there at college with him, he is understanding when he learns his dad was fired. So Max lays down some reasonable ground rules, and is very direct with him about letting him have his independence. However Goofy forgets the conversation and does his smothering parent thing when he's supposed to be there for his degree and it messes things up for Max's college life. While Max is guilty of not noticing his dad being sad of him leaving, Goofy shouldn't have burdened Max with his empty nest syndrome.
Fun Fact: Sylvia Marpole is voiced by Bebe Neuwirth. If you don't know who Bebe Neuwirth is you may know her as Dr. Lilith Sternin from the TV shows Cheers (1986-1993) and Fraser (1993-2004) and as Aunt Nora from Jumanji (1995).
33:30 goofy only had to go to one year of college because he already had taken 3 years of college in the 70s but never took the 4th year to graduate. Idk how he was in the same class as max though. You’d think he’d be in an advanced class
Lol, when I was a kid, there was a line in the Extremely Goofy Movie that I thought was the funniest thing I ever heard. "Gamma Brother Goofy, let me present you with your Gamma Mu Mu pledge pin." I don't know why, but that line cracked me up as a kid. 🤣
I would watch this movie all the time on tv growing up. To me, it’s a pretty good follow up to the first Goofy Movie. Thanks for the reaction Timothee, stay cool bro!
@@twist58 You know, I actually do. She reappeared in an episode of the House of Mouse series and then this film showed up, leaving us with no explanation of why she didn’t return.
Supposedly, Goofy’s wife died when Max was just a baby. The teddy bear was the toy that she gave Max after he was born. That’s why Goofy finds it so special. It’s his only reminder of Max’s mom.
As a college student, that's not how classes work. You get COMPLETE freedom over what classes you pick. It's not the same as, like... primary or secondary educations. and if you fail a class, you're not really forced to retake it, unless it's a genuine requisite. But the class they were taking seemed to be something regarding poetry, mythology, or creative writing, all of which are not requirements. The Gammas were definitely taking it as an easy class for their final year. Also, unnecessary hate for Beret Girl. Not cool, man. :(
14:25 What Max does to his dad here, suggesting Goofy play for the rival team full of bullies, really upsets me. As much as Max felt tortured by his dad going to College with him, he never did it to hurt him. Max willingly put his innocent father in that position. Goofy ALWAYS sees the best in people....
I haven’t seen this in awhile. Another good dog movie that will really get your emotions is homeward bound 1 and the sequel. But the first one is really emotional. Such good movies

10:55 I think they meant Goofy only needed a year to finish his coursework. Honestly, that's a really forgiving system. He's been out of school for over 20 years and they let him continue where he left off.

The College X Games were run by ESPN and featured teams from several schools. It wasn't funded by any school. Disney acquired ESPN back in 1996; hence, the product placement.
It’s a real shame that Roxanne and Stacy got written out of the movie… everyone could’ve had a happy love life. Max and Bobby in the first movie PJ and Goofy in this one Poor Pete
Forgot this is one of the only cartoons to call out the drawing habit of nearly everybody wearing gloves. But it's a nice reminder that you're never too old to have fun or learn a new way of life.
29:34 Another fact: The movie was actually released a year before 9/11, and to reflect this, in TV versions, the whole scene with the inflatable X on fire and rescuing the henchman was cut.
That trippy scene with Goofy was surprisingly hard to watch. Didn't expect that from a goofy straight-to-DVD sequel. I'm glad Goofy got someone to love. He is usually paired with Clarabelle Cow when he is portrayed with a love interest and yeah it is a straight-to-DVD sequel, but I'd like to see him more with this library lady. They're very sweet together. Roxanne isn't around, I think because Max is supposed to represent a typical teenager and I guess they wanted to be more realistic and not go the "marries and spends the rest of their life with their first crush" route. Older Max has been portrayed with another girl in one Disney short.
I think the scene with the horseshoe the point of that is no matter how much you prepare or plan there will always be bumps bruises and turns until you get to your goal and goof is trying to explain to them that no matter how many times something bad happens you got to keep on moving

5:35 I'd sue whoever made that machine. That thing had no failsafe, and a reverse mode? It then sucks in Goofy, chokes on him, and malfunctions. It violently overloads and expands, bulging out each segment as it builds up pressure, until it finally explodes!
I love this film and watched it more than Goofy Movie growing up.
