I love this piece so much! I remember my father listening to it on the radio in the 50's and 60's. ❤ He was so musical and loved listening to jazz. My mother, not so musical and not so fond of jazz. I wish my father were here to go listen to Tuba Skinny with me in the Quarter !!!
Thank you. 'Cold Mornin' Shout' was composed in 1926 by Bobby Leecan for The South Street Trio. Tuba Skinny included it in their 'Pyramid Strut' CD. Its opening themes are played in the key of C. Then, following Shaye's foot signal at 01:29, we have the four-bar Bridge that changes the key to F. They play the main 16-bar theme in F twice from 01:35 to 02:14 and then stick on it, for solos from Craig, Barnabus, Max, Robin and Ensemble respectively before Shaye's hand-on-head signal at 03:45 directs them right back to the beginning with a return to the Key of C.
