THEY ARE BACK REALLY, TOTALLY , BACK . NICE TO HEAR THEM SINGING HARMONY ; HAVENT HEARD THAT IN A LONG TIME . AND THE WIZARD OF THE WASHBOARD DID ONE OF HIS ALL-TME GREAT SOLOS . WONDERFUL STUFF
That song "Rosa Lee Blues" by you guys on here, is so Cool. I've been listening to Ya'll for around 10 years now, and this id my favorite, Period! Love it when Shay checks for "Rollers in her hair", as Greg and Erika get after it, "singing and a playing. That song is alive! Luv it! fv 'n Okc, Ok.
Thank you. 'Rosa Lee Blues', created and recorded in 1941 by Walter Vinson, is on Tuba Skinny's 'Owl Call Blues' CD. A 12- bar in G at eight to the bar.

As always: that they are all great goes without saying. This time I particularly liked the banjo playing by Max. It creates this constant drive or groove and very subtle decorations as the icing on top.
Still the same, still evolving. Erika and Greg do some nice harmonies these days. And Barnabus lifted his hand at the end! He's getting to be the life and soul of the party.
Embarrassing solo by the clarinetist Flory. It is the weak point of Tuba Skinny: it is not jazzy at all and indulges in the… chirping of chicks. Over the years he has learned something about jazz phrasing (at first it was worse), but he lacks jazz fantasy, and his serious limitation constantly re-emerges. It is certainly not the great Ewan!
Musical styles are subjective and everybody is entitled to their opinion. I think this is a great example of traditional jazz clarinet playing by a fine musician.
I concurr. Craig is a virtuoso of his instrument, a fine musician, technically . But his style leaves me cringing at times, it is too "twiddly-fiddly" for me, unless he plays in the lower register, when he can be very pleasant to hear. However, he obviously pleases Shaye and the rest of the band, otherwise he wouldn't be there.
I also asked myself the question. Excluding the reason of the "contrast" of style as a attraction for the public (in the 20s some local bands ...), there remains only the rarity of good clarinetists specialized in the language and sensitivity of classical jazz. Jonathan and Ewan are now a memory.
This may be Tuba Skinny's best song. Do you agree? I LOVE it! 5 STARS 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Brilliant! It rocks and swings and sings

I hope someone will bring you to the western U.S. and in particular Colorado while you're still doing this great music. I'm a big Skinny fan!
Glad to see that super group getting around! Enjoy Italy, in spite of the crazy heat wave.
Yes, the Italian attitude to life is apparently very contagious !! Bravo... bravo!! Thank you Gabor for uploading ...

Who was the wolf whistle for? Erika still wearing those mismatched clothes and looking great. I'm starting to think she's doing it on purpose.
Oh it's great to see Erika there, a gettin' it, along w/ Greg.
She makes it complete.
Well, it's just the truth..

Every jazz player is free to improvise as they wish. I love the way Craig plays, and as a clarinet enthusiast myself I wish I could play as well.
