Looking at buying a Renewed S20 Ultra direct from Samsung UK. 1 year warranty and new battery. Any major issues to consider ? Due to my location I use wifi calling on ASDA Mobile (Vodafone) , is that available on the s20 ultra? I also use modes and routines to auto change settings when connecting to a certain wifi network. Any advice appreciated, tried an s21 ultra off ebay only to find it was an at&t version and wouldn't work properly in the UK. I did get my money back! Looks forward to any helpful advice.
I bought a S20 Ultra on ebay for around $300 this year. I started a new job that gives me a work phone number, and I use a micro sd for storing files that I've transferred between phones. It was the only galaxy that allowed me to have a physical sim (my current personal carrier has limited eSIM support), a micro sd card, and an eSIM for my new work phone number. Sadly I can not upgrade my phone and keep these features. Phone is still amazing though and I plan on running this thing to the ground.
Once my OnePlus 7 Pro's usb-c port started to go and battery was degrading, I bought a secondhand S20 Ultra a year ago and it's been great! Sometimes I think about upgrading, but this phone still feels plenty fast with a pretty reliable battery life and display. It's exactly large enough without feeling too unwieldy.
Absolutely! I bought a brand new sealed S20 Ultra in January for $318. Same seller, now for $268 on 9/21/24. These were $1400 when new. Android 13 is it though, no future upgrades. Activated through AT&T with a sim card, then transferred service to Consumer Cellular last week using e-sim, no issues. Phenomenal camera, and last Galaxy model with an external micro sd card slot. Only downside, no wi-fi calling on unlocked models. No biggie, I use WhatsApp if service is limited to make a call/message.
It’s an awesome phone, gutted to move it on! The main downside on it for me personally was the selfie camera, everything else was amazing even today! Thanks for watching 😁
This will definitely be an upgrade, of course newer models will improve even more but naturally will go up in price. I've got videos on S21 and S22 Ultra if you need to see those. Your sim will work in these phones 👍
@@ashdoestech Man, I'm typing this on my 9+ right now. I actually don't feel the age on it after getting a battery replacement, but I definitely feel compelled by the new Samsung or Sony tech in the cameras. I only care about headphone jack,Micro-SD, and having a new camera, because everything else is moot. I don't want to pay 1k for a SONY flagship, in part because sony has been pissing in my wheaties for decades as a music lover and gamer. I also really don't want to buy a Samsung again, because samsung has been acting like Apple with both of them being anti-consumer. What can I actually buy that isn't OPPO, Redmi, One Plus, ETC direct from China? This new tech environment sucks, I remember the days of Nokia and HTC putting out crazy phones. I remember having so many "real" options. These days its' just so hard finding something good that also might last 6 years. I'm one of those luddites that hates AI and I really don't want to stomach buying a phone with it, I have no use for it. What is actually avaliable these days, its so maddening how anti-consumer NEW tech is compared to this phone.
@@WhatWillYouFind only bad thing is the cve-2024-32896 vulerability for older android devices. Im running the latest security patch, but that bug is a MONSTER!!
Beware with this phone thats not mentioned. the camera module is bulky and makes the phone have a bad weight distribution techniccly pushing the phone back when in hand. caused me bad wrist pain and extreme little finger dent.
What's another old flagship I can look at? I'm running out of ideas. Not too expensive mind 😂
Ohhh the reflections on the S20 ultra. 🔥🔥🔥
😂😂 I know!

Should I buy this as a step up from an Galaxy S8? Or should I go newer model? And would it support the S8 sim card?

I recommend looking into a used s22 ultra instead
Recommend a Samsung phone with good camera, battery 🔋 storage and long duration
the last good galaxy phone line. the removal of expandable storage on galaxy s21 and on was a horrible decision
Greenline issue in this phone

@@eyeball5578 yes lol thats before you turn it on aswell
My experience wasn't that extreme, hence I didn't mention it...
