S20 owner here, i'd personally advise people to buy any S phone with a flat screen like the S22 instead because of the flat back & flat screen, the edges on the S20 makes the glass break so easily, i replaced the front & the back twice and they broke for the 3rd time. also the phone no longer gets OS updates which also is a con.

That was a great review George. The s20 makes for a great emulation device that can already play Switch games at 60 fps, for which the sd card support comes in mighty handy. The S20 is definitely an excellent phone. I have an S20+, myself, and I've really enjoyed using it the past several years. That said, probably going to upgrade this year or next year, since mine's starting to fall apart a bit. But yeah, if you want a very solid flagship experience that does extremely well in pretty much every category for a very cheap price at this date, I'd heavily recommend this phone.
Personally, I liked the edge display and its aspect ratio made it easy for one hand use. Unfortunately I had to give up mine due to pooooor battery life. I don't know if exynos version made that difference from SD. upgraded to S23 comapring them I liked the feeling of S20 and the speaker were much better in S20
Every time I watch a video on the S20 someone claims it has 8gb of RAM. But mine has 12. It's easy to see in the settings. This feature and the 2k display are a couple of the features Samsung cut to make the entry level S phone more affordable.
I also noticed that the s20 5 g some of them have an SD card. Some do not. The ones verizon sold do not. The ones you buy off the internet do. I know it's crazy, but do your research it's true. Verizon's have an 8gb ram , Yet the ones off the internet that have the s d card have a 12gb ram
they make the screen resolution lower since they worked out for small phone displays the difference between 1080p and higher resolutions like 4k is too low to justify the higher Panels cost. and for battery life as 4k is more power intensive to push more pixels.
It really is sad that updates are ending for this one. It has no difference in everyday performance than my s23. Screen is still just as good and other than battery life and the white screengate issue it is incredible.
Glad to see this video even though it's 9 months old! I still use my S20 and like it. My only complaint is I keep breaking the back glass even with a cover but it's easy to buy aftermarket and fix it yourself. My wife needed a new smart phone and she just bought a brand new factory sealed S20 on Ebay for $230.00! It should be here soon.
I had the S20 FE 5G from I think May 2021 to August 2024. It was a decent phone, honestly. I would not advise anyone buying it in 2024. Just get a s23 or s24 on sale. Also, I think it's gonna stop receiving updates by February 2025.
I just bought a refurbished S20 for under £200. I'm upgrading from an LG V30 and wanted something a similar size/weight with a 1440p screen, a micro sd card slot and wireless charging. It was pretty much the only phone with those specs around that price. Where did all the 1440p phones go?? It's just a shame there's no 3.5mm jack 😢
I went from s20fe to s23fe in Nov 2023. Only reason I upgrade was because the s23fe was free. Even though the s20fe was 2.5 years old it feels as fast and has the same battery life as the s23fe. Both snapdragons. The s20fe was lighter and bigger screen. The s23fe advantage is that it picks up low signals where the s20fe got no service. Again, if the s23fe wasn't free I would never had upgraded. And today I would still buy a renewed s20fe over a new A54, or any A series.
I got a free S23fe from my carrier with a $45/month plan for two years. Not a bring back plan. Black Friday special. Plus a $100 Best Buy card. It was too sweet to pass up.
I have had my s20 plus since 2021, with the Exynos CPU (in Latin America, the snap dragon version was not sold). The phone has been perfect for me since then, the only one problem I had just recently, is that a vertical pink line appeared on the display. I searched on the internet, and seems to be a recurrent issue for this model. I took the phone to a Samsung store, and changed for a brand new display. The battery was not working well after all time I have had it, yet in the Samsung store "calibrated" it (don't know what the calibration is) and now is lasting a day or a bit more, like as new. I still receive the security patches updates, yet I miss the OS updates, although I recognize that these OS updates are not vital for me: I still have a Galaxy s5 tab with no updates since long time ago, and I'm just fine with the tablet. Photos and video quality is very good on the s20 plus, yet for some photos like sunsets, I don't like the exaggerated colors... I have to later edit and tone down the color temperature my self. In general, I'm fine with the phone and I will wait some time more to update, as the s24 plus for me does not have so potent new features for me to pay $850 dollars for it.
no its not, not only did it compromise hella on display durability, but it also doesnt even give any advantage, its just there for show and alot of ppl can accidentally touch the side of the screen bc of the curves, ur a imbecile if thats the “best” thing theyve ever done in ur opinion
Waching on my s20 wondering if I should bother upgrading. The battery is a touch bad when listening to music all day, but other than that, I think I'll wait for the 26 😂
If it's a snapdragon version , of course, it is worths, especially with that screen resolution. It's 566 ppi, which is better than any other Samsung flagship since then until now.
thanks mate, this is very helpful! i struggle a LOT with my old iphone 7... i love recording videos but my storage keeps getting full, its really annoying haha
This may be the difference... Samsung made two different samsung S20 5G. One Is sold through verizon, but It only has 8 GB of Ram and no S.D. card. The other one which is sold online by samsung and distributers, which has an S.D. card and 12 Gbs Ram. I wonder if the people who are having trouble with the green lines bought the one from verizon? I own the one From online that has twelve gigabytes and an s d card. I have had absolutely no issues for 4 years. I'm curious to know if that's what the difference so post what kind you have and any issues? Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the f.E or any other brand. Only the samsung galaxy S20 5g
Curvede edges are great. Why would you want a square edge. Easy and smooth to hold and adds another dimension. This accidentally activating it is nonsense. Bring back the curved edge
One of the factors that killed this phone for me unfortunately was the launch price of the base s20 being 999 compared to the typical 799 price point at launch which was a bit outraegous and also they downgraded the resolution to conserve battery because having 1440p on a small screen doesn't really look that much better to a 1080p display and saves battery.
Nearly every time I see someone talk about the S20, they say it has 8gb of Ram. I'm not saying some might but I'm pretty sure all the ones sold state side had 12gb of Ram
Depth of field on the front facing camera should be wide as possible. Oftentimes people are taking selfies in front of a particular object, landmark, or view… in which case it would be pretty useless if only the foreground or background was in focus.
Im surprised with no mention of cellular connectivity and the lack of support for n77 c band, which is important to have since all three carriers have. No more security updates after this year too.
I have a brand new S20 with 12gb of ram that I got for SUPER cheap... Its DEFINITELY worth it for it's excellent hardware and feature rich software... Samsung Dex is awesome too! WAY more useful than a Nintendo switch and more powerful 👍🏼
I have the S20 and love it but because its nit gettin One UI updates anymore, I upgraded to the S24U. The S20 is still getting security updates however. I will keep it as my backup phone though.
7:00 no, the S20's main camera does not have the same hardware and specs that the s10 had. the sensor is larger and the aperture is no longer variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 it's now fixed @ f/1.8 great well informed video otherwise
U said "the stutters and hickups are so common in android phones" you're wrong actually. They're common in (low/mid range) phones cuz they don't have high end processors nor high end material, they don't get any optimization as high end phones. That's why high end phones are going to be powerful and stable forever or at least 13 as my galaxy note 3 (exynos) did btw
Samsung has downgraded the resolution on their Galaxy S base model phones to make them cheaper. The Galaxy S20 was released starting at 999 USD while the the most recent ones were released starting at 800 USD.

I was about to drop $1700 on an S24 ultra just to have one years bragging rights PS I love the unique curved design
i refuse to upgrade my phone as i still have this one and it's awesome! video can be a little on the sharp side but can be reduced in post. otherwise, I still won't part with it.
The fact that they toke away the sd card is one thing but talking the qhd display away with 1080p and they haven't increased battery for the s24 when the xiaomi 14 has a 1200p and 1200p display they only thing s24 has is 7 years os instead of 4 for xiaomi and ultra sonic finger print. Whats even more criminal all 3 of xiaomi 14 to to 14 ultra base is 256gb were samsung on the base s24 is 128gb is a rip off
Another bad part of this phone (Just for some ppl) is the fact that the s20 series (S20, S20+, S20 ULTRA and s20FE) will not be uptaded to One Ui 6.0 with android 14, but still a good phone in 2024. Howevor, just because i care about uptades, i just would buy s21 series or s22 series
Picked one up for 60 because im a phone addict, its definitely fragile mines cracked on both sides and has a tiny dot_ its also weighted wierd the top half is heavier, making it want to flop out of your hands its a little uncomfortable

After 3 years of useing s20 plus , i have upgraded to s23 ultra. But i still use my s20 plus more often than the s23 ultra. Because s20 plus feels thinner, lighter, less tiring to use and it feels so premium in the hand ( i don't use a case). It almost feels like the s23 ultra was an unnecessary purchase. Performance, battrylife , cameras and evrything else is still amazing even in 2024. Watching on my samsung S20 5g haven't had any regret so far... dope video tho .... following your channel asap
how is the battery life? and any green line issues on the display?
@scoob892 Had mine 4 years now, no green lines
@scoob892 no green line on mine my battery still lasts a day for me
3:51 OR! buy a usb hub and u can connect the keyboard and the mouse to your phone (personally tested)
Never had problem with the curved display maybe cause i use a phone case
Go to settings, Type 'wireless power sharing' toggle it on for reverse charge
I had the S20 FE 5G from I think May 2021 to August 2024. It was a decent phone, honestly. I would not advise anyone buying it in 2024. Just get a s23 or s24 on sale. Also, I think it's gonna stop receiving updates by February 2025.
I'm still thinking of getting the s20 since am broke
Please explain how the S23fe was free?
I got a free S23fe from my carrier with a $45/month plan for two years. Not a bring back plan. Black Friday special. Plus a $100 Best Buy card.
It was too sweet to pass up.
Nothing is for free
Very nice review👍. I'm also interested in samsung s22.. Because the camera design is very beautiful
Curved display is the best thing sumsung ever did
no its not, not only did it compromise hella on display durability, but it also doesnt even give any advantage, its just there for show and alot of ppl can accidentally touch the side of the screen bc of the curves, ur a imbecile if thats the “best” thing theyve ever done in ur opinion
As someone who owned a s6,s8+,s10+,s20 ultra,s21 ultra, and s23 ultra flat displays are definitely the much better option
@@alexjavi13ify that's your opinion
Until you drop it on the ground :D but I agree, sure looks beautiful
@@ivankooo84 exactly but it sure is really beautiful and makes the screen look bigger than it is
Waching on my s20 wondering if I should bother upgrading. The battery is a touch bad when listening to music all day, but other than that, I think I'll wait for the 26 😂
Go for the s23, good price and its a beast ! (Snapdragon 8 gen 2)🎉
2:08 this is all I needed to hear! Ima coppin one for cod mobile cuz this a iPhone 12 Pro Max is GARBAGE
S20 user here I am really happy with my device. The phone is so fast , can run genshin impact smoothly and the camera, display is just amazing
I loved my S20 Plus, it was really hard to get rid of it but i traded it in for an S24 Plus and I'm Glad i did!
I'm surprised no one talked about the frustrating fingerprint sensor. Once the phone is unlocked, it works like a charm.
Where you bought it?
@@Davey97 Amazon... Was a good deal
Still using the S10 and it's a beast.
Totally worth it! Just buy the plus if you can handle the bigger phone
Thanks for this video ❤
Actually, the S6 doesn't have a curved screen unless the S6 active had a flat screen and the regular had a curved. I had the Active.
I have the S20 and love it but because its nit gettin One UI updates anymore, I upgraded to the S24U. The S20 is still getting security updates however. I will keep it as my backup phone though.
I have had mine for years and it just gave an update two days ago
@@GodisGreat-p2s One UI?
Watching on Note 20 Ultra.. still prefer old samsung flagship due to its microSD slot.
Seems far better than something like an iPhone 11 at least
I'm watching on my S20 FE 5G🫡
Same here
How's it going
7:00 no, the S20's main camera does not have the same hardware and specs that the s10 had. the sensor is larger and the aperture is no longer variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 it's now fixed @ f/1.8
great well informed video otherwise
he maybe mixed it up with the s21
Great content, new sub earned
U said "the stutters and hickups are so common in android phones" you're wrong actually. They're common in (low/mid range) phones cuz they don't have high end processors nor high end material, they don't get any optimization as high end phones. That's why high end phones are going to be powerful and stable forever or at least 13 as my galaxy note 3 (exynos) did btw
Samsung has downgraded the resolution on their Galaxy S base model phones to make them cheaper. The Galaxy S20 was released starting at 999 USD while the the most recent ones were released starting at 800 USD.
where did you bought that attachable controller?
I had the note 20 ultra, Exynos varient. Incredibly inefficient. Charges.2 to 3 times a day
I own s20 plus that phone is a nightmare when it comes to screen damages 😂😂😂😂 but I really can't stay out of the displays
Bought a "USED TO NEW" one 4 days ago. What a wonderful device! I get 2 days on battery life, the cameras are just fine and i added a 512GB sd card. It does more than I need
Just $229. I was about to drop $1700 on an S24 ultra just to have one years bragging rights
PS I love the unique curved design
Curved design are amazing. Apple users only like flat screens like their flat head so they complain about it contantly.
@@omegalongdong 🤣🤣
@@omegalongdong LMAOOO this comment had me literally LOL 😆😂
i refuse to upgrade my phone as i still have this one and it's awesome! video can be a little on the sharp side but can be reduced in post. otherwise, I still won't part with it.
How is the network connectivity compared to latest flagship?
The only thing for which I was going to buy was edge because it looks so cool but... 😢
Watching from Bangladesh
Please review other galaxy s series devices
security updates will end sept 2024 and in 3 years most of apps will not work on android 13, A55 will have much longer life
Ofc most app will work on android 13
Very good video. Subbed
563ppi , thats nuts...man those displays are beautiful
In the Samsung S20 is there a headphone jack.
And can i put two sim cards and a micro sd card in it at the same time.
Every flagship released in the past 4 years is great in 2024.
Picked one up for 60 because im a phone addict, its definitely fragile mines cracked on both sides and has a tiny dot_ its also weighted wierd the top half is heavier, making it want to flop out of your hands its a little uncomfortable
And that's why I'm getting another new one!! 💯
I just bought a brand new one on ebay for just under 250 bucks, awesome deal, I'm actually sending back an S24!
@@EdwardC100 wow!!
THANK YOU! This is the video i needed because im about to swap my vivo for samsung s20! THANK YOU. I didn't expect such sa small channel to produce this quality video!
It must. I have a s10 and it is still quick. No sticking at all. Samsung S series are the best.
RUclips don't find solution about the green line issue on this great device
Btw i didn't notice that the channel is not popular with that good quality video. Well done 👍🏻
I want to buy the s20 plus for my first ever review on YT ❤
After 3 years of useing s20 plus , i have upgraded to s23 ultra. But i still use my s20 plus more often than the s23 ultra. Because s20 plus feels thinner, lighter, less tiring to use and it feels so premium in the hand ( i don't use a case). It almost feels like the s23 ultra was an unnecessary purchase. Performance, battrylife , cameras and evrything else is still amazing even in 2024. Moreover, i have the exynos version , i know exynos has a bad reputation, but trust me , it dosent matter in real life usage.
I got 2 samsung s9, had a s20 (sold it) still having a s20 plus, had a s22 plus (also sold) a like new s23 256gb and a s24 (sapphire blue) 256gb brandnew in the box. Using one s9 and the s20 plus als daily drivers 😂
Even if you use a high back cover still suffer from accidental touch ? I use s10 plus and the cover on cover the edge so no accidental touch 🙄
Great advise thnk you
I got the s20 and am thinking of getting s20 ultra
Why would you uprgade a 4 year old phone to a slightly better version
I'd go for a newer model
@@i360fantasy7exactly ahaha
Big mistake 😂 don't do that

You need to activate reverse wireless charging in the settings to wirelessly charge other things then turn it on when you want to use it otherwise it will drain your battery and cook your lady or gentleman bits 😢 also you can buy I powered usb multi hub with hdmi that will allow you to use DEX, plug in additional usb devices and charge your phone at the same time. Hope this helps
Last week i bought S20 and the impression was outstanding. Great performance, great camera... You can do multi tasks easily has an awsome display....it costed me 185$ in Bangladesh. It has every reason to go for it
Where did you get ur gaming pad I want one can I use it to play pes on my s22 plus
