      I honestly do not lol. It’s definitely odd how movie tie-in games just straight up aren’t really made at all anymore, but the endless sea of low effort crap is not something I particularly miss. I feel like the GameCube/PS2, GBA, and DS libraries are like 50% mediocre tie-in games.

      I know. They were actually notorious for being crap lol

    • @Regulo1d
      @Regulo1d 2 года назад +6

      @@BareBandSubscription That was a problem when we were kids and it was a crapshoot whether a game was quality or not, especially if you were at Blockbuster and you had to simultaneously rush, but not rush too much in choosing a game. However, now that you can immediately look up a review or gameplay of a game with high quality YT Footage, I would say that problems pretty much gone now.
      Plus, for as many rubbish tie in games that there were, like Spider-Man 2 (on PC), there were always 'hidden' gems like Spider-Man 2 (on Console). In any case, those mediocre tie in games are still being made nowadays, but they're usually mobile games with a crap-ton of ads/microtransactions. At least on 6th gen consoles those would be full blown AA/A games that were a complete, if often mediocre, package.
      I will say that if anyone has nostalgia for the era, now's a better time than even back then to play them, since you have to just download an emulator and get an ISO, and enjoy those old games with higher resolutions, antialiasing, and other enhancements, and it's free.

    Thank you for giving these games some love. Growing up I mostly had tie-in games on my PS2 and Wii, because for some reason I wanted those more than Nintendo games or other popular ones. I regret it, but some of these games were genuinely memorable and fun. Cars and Spongebob especially, I also quite liked Robots.

    I respect the fact that you used so many different phrases of Michael Rosen
    Most videos of him I've seen reuse like 70% same ones, which inadvertently make them seem more stale.

    You described the over “the hedge” and “Madagascar” game perfectly. Rich the first time but good for replay value.
    Bumper carts in over the hedge is literally something triple A car games should consider bringing back. The power ups, boost power, the commentary voices, the destruction and explosions, fantastic soundtrack and being able to send your opponent’s up the invisible walls. It’s literally the greatest movie to game mini game I’ve ever played!
    What a time it was in the early 2000’s.

    Movie tie in games were like a blind bag. Sometimes you got something good, sometimes you got something awful, most of the time you got something passable or mediocre. But trying out the game for the first time to find out was a memorable experience either way.

    this video reminded me of King Kong game, it was a very innovative fps/3rd person shooter/beat 'em up game. The ambience as playing the human character was suspenseful and the fact that just like old school Resident Evil games, it didn't have an actual HUD so it made it more of an immersive experience
