Actually, the Walt Disney Company website said they have not abandoned traditional animation and that it's always open for future projects. I believe the reason why they stopped making traditional animation films is because it's a lot more time-consuming and it's a little expensive to do.

Fantasia 2000 is just as good as the original. I will forever remember the Flying Whales, the Steadfast Tin Soldier, Rhapsody in Blue, Flamingos with Yoyos, Pomp and Circumstance, and of course, the FIREBIRD suite by Stravinsky through the images that Fantasia granted me.
Brother Bear came out right when I was in that sweet spot in the age demographic. It was pretty alright. Not sure on Dinosaur tho. I liked the Activity Center computer game, but the movie itself wasn't too memorable to me.
