We have been taught to be cordial with the people of the book (jews and christians) by Allah and the prophet. There’s way too much in common in our beliefs to be so divided.

Mashaallah, these two are going from strength to strength . Indeed, a vast majority of non muslims have doubts about islam but there are very few of us who are ready to clarify their doubts because we don't study islam enough.As an ummah, giving Dawah to others is also our duty besides salah, fasting, zakat and Hajj. So, it's very very necessary to educate ourselves and educate others. Won't Allah hold us accountable if we don't spread the message of islam to our non-Muslim brothers and sisters?

Hijab has been doing wonders recently in terms of spreading Islam. His talks with Peterson tate and supposed “debate” with ayaan hirsi Ali have reached the western audience and sparked an interest in Islam in them albeit just a few individuals. Despite this we should still remember and respect other individuals in the dawah scene as well.
Yeah man I am not Muslim but it has helped me understand more about the religion and want a beautiful religion it is for its practitioners. Respect.

@@Life-of6hk First, regarding the backbone and ribcage, Quran is referring to the human being, not the sperm, actually you don't even need to know Arabic to figure that one out. Allah starts off talking about the human being, being the subject or noun, that the human was created from sperm and that same human comes through/in-between the backbone and ribcage. In Arabic it is even more clear, Allah says يخرج من بين الصلب والترائب ، the term يخرج denotes a pronoun of human. Had the term been تخرج it would have been clear it's referring to an 'it' (i.e sperm) instead of he/she. Again however without digging into Arabic this is clear if you look at the context. Nowhere does the verse say the sperm comes out of there, infact the very next verse demonstrates this reality. "Surely He is fully capable of bringing them back ˹to life˺. As you can see the pronoun is still being used referring to human 'them'.
As for moon being split in two. Go watch a video for shaikh uthman ibn farooq, it's on RUclips, search it up, it's a lengthy video where he provides evidence for it from non Muslim sources, from multiple accounts. There are even sources from NASA around that are mentioned, but that aside, you'll see the historical documented accounts from non Muslim sources at the time who were geographically separated.
As for crucifixion, your own scholars debate that matter and there is difference of opinion on it, but even that aside, in reality the Onus is on you to provide evidence for that, not the other way around. You are the one making the claim. From our perspective, we make claims about the authenticity of the Quran being from God and we provide evidence for it. We also or I should say Allah offers multiple challenges to humanity in the Quran to disprove it. Be it contradiction or inimitability test and prophecies, scientific and historical facts, linguistic miracle etc. We have plenty to substantiate our claim. Christians however appeal to blind faith and use the holy spirit excuse. That obviously doesn't classify as evidence.
So my friend, I advise you to grab a Quran and read it thoroughly and learn about Islam and ask to get your answers. Islam comes to confirm all that came before it, including Jesus, moses, Abraham all the way back to Adam and beyond. Its the full package and it actually came as good news for people of the book (Christians and Jews) setting them back on the path Jesus and moses were on, monotheism in it's true pure form. A quarter of the world's population is Muslim for good reason. Prophet muhammad pbuh came for all humanity. So this is an Invitation for you to the path of salvation.

@@Layth71 OK according to your interpretation of the verse the verse is talking about the human coming from between the ribcage and the backbone, which again is false, a baby is not stored between the ribcage and the backbone, the baby is stored within the womb which is below the ribcage i.e. in the pelvis area, your message about jesus being not crucified did not include any historical evidence, the quran was written hundreds of years after the crucifiction by someone who was not alive in Jesus's lifetime, furthermore there is no evidence outside of the quran written within 100 years of Jesus's death that mentions he was not crucified, you also have not provided any evidence that the moon was split in two, it is impossible for it to be split in two and then return to its normal form without anyone (non Muslim) to confirm it did happen, I'd like you to present non Muslim sources to prove this, so as a summary for all of my points I would like the correct evidence to prove what you are saying is correct and they must be from non Muslim sources (humans being stored or formed between the backbone and ribs) and also non Muslim sources written near to the time in which the moon was "split in two") and non Muslim sources written within 100 years of jesus being crucified that says "jesus was not crucified", I await your response

As a gay woman, I'm always open to having these conversations and do have many of them with my Muslim friends. I respect that they see things differently and I respect the arguments that are being made here. My counter argument to the data he suggested around sexual health as someone who used to volunteer for a HIV charity is, it has long been documented that heterosexual men have a higher diagnosis rate of HIV and homosexual men have always ranked higher in the stats. Currently it's at 52% and gay men are at 35%. The media will do what the media does to make it seem this is not so. I also understand what he's saying about traditional families, but an argument can be made that this could be the case because society isn't fully set up to see non traditional family set ups as "normal" so the children have it harder when they attend school and are faced with questions and bullies about having 2 mummies or 2 daddies. So I'm not saying they're wrong and I'm right. I think both ways of living are valid, I just think there is so much more to it than the examples given.

There have been gay people long before the Quran, long before prophet Muhammad sat in the mount jabal caves and received revelations. Gays (humans and animals) will always exist, just like that have for thousands and thousands of years. There is nothing you can say or do to change that.
If you can't accepted Allahs creation as it is, then that is your problem and he will judge you on the day.

I liked the strategy of using liberal ethics notions to argue on the harmful effect of homosexuality. However, it's important I think to emphazise more on the social threats that comes with it such as human extinction and its implication within a society : a decrase in labour, soldiers...
He did do that. He spoke about how if everyone practices it then we would go extinct and the consequences of it.
