Tusen takk from this Norwegian/American celebrating Grieg's birthday in 2022!
❤❤❤Grieg's music matches to my emotions very well.I's fantastic.
Repost of Jakub's for hyperlinks.
I. G major, Allegro moderato e marcato 0:40
II. A major, Allegretto grazioso 6:29
III. D major, Allegro giocoso 8:57
IV. A minor, Andante: Allegro risoluto 12:18
What a magnificent soundscape that Edvard Grieg's mind and imagination produced, which now is enjoyed far and wide, as these superb musicians produce again!
Not only his music, but also his score is so beautiful. His score is like a charming geometry, having mathematical clearness...
Grieg is my favorite composer, his music is so great❤️
Someone wrote (below) that Grieg is underrated, I couldn't agree more. His music is a delight; rarely profound but always composed with great skill and poetry. If you don't know the Holberg Suite, then please look it up; it will grab you within 30 seconds. Delightful and charming: Two words we don't hear enough of these days...! Bravo, Paavo Jarvi and this wonderfully delicate performance.
You're leaving out one of the greatest piano concerti of all time, Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor.
Gerry Rains It's a great concerto, isn't it? And I am aware that he wrote other pieces, like the Violin Sonata. And I wasn't being critical (and I know you weren't suggesting that,) Grieg excelled, though, as a miniaturist and we have very few of those.
TheDucciano Honestly! Can't a guy take half an hour? Gimme a break :)
TheDucciano There are some snippets on my channel (composerinuk) but they don't reflect the sort of music I write now... Thank you for your interest.
My god thank you, I have heard it so many times but never actually known what it was called, the Holberg Suite. To return a favor, check out his piece ''Peer Gynt Anitra's Dance'' if you don't already know of it.
I used to play The Holberg Suite, the 4 hand arrangement with my late friend of forty years ago who was a phenomenal pianist. This is very bittersweet for me...
I love so many of Grieg's works!
Brahms and Tchaikovsky met for the first time at a party in Germany. They didn't care for each other's music and seemed about to get into a big argument. When Grieg and his wife entered the gathering, both cheerful and benevolent people. Within minutes he had Brahms and Tchaikovsky conversing calmly and drinking together.
what a wonderful story ! thanks very much, PS, for sharing this - i could well imagine from his music that Grieg would possess the class and character to make 2 moody geniuses relax and enjoy themselves
@@VallaMusic Thanks! The coda: the two moody geniuses met only one more time. And this time they went to a cafe and apparently talked at length over a meal with nary a cross word. So the Grieg spirit went with them!
@@VallaMusic Tchaikovsky and Grieg music emotions for me are same, I love them very much.
Sehr schöne Interpretation 👍👍 Grieg war immer schon mein Favorit
Clara Andrada de la Calle, Spanish from Salamanca, the flute player, she gives a special touch on the orchestra. Excelente performance, beautiful lady, an artist, teacher etc.etc.etc.
Everyone is in love with Clara...
Yes - amazing musician and stunningly beautiful
Edvard Grieg, A-ha - thank you the beautiful nation of Norway
Gut artikulierte und perfekt synchronisierte Aufführung dieses farbenprächtigen Meisterstücks im relativ schnellen Tempo und ohne überflüssige Agogik. Der Dirigent ist echt genial!
sparkling performance ! love to listen to this piece whenever i need a good dose of the Scandinavian spirit !
Es ist eine wahre Freude Paavo Järvi beim dirigieren zuzuschauen.
I. G major, Allegro moderato e marcato 0:40
II. A major, Allegretto grazioso 6:29
III. D major, Allegro giocoso 8:57
IV. A minor, Andante: Allegro risoluto 12:18
You are a champion of the people
Childhood memories abound! I still have our 'Cook - Vector Stereo' translucent-blue LP (33-1/3 rpm) record of this splendid work by this splendid composer🤩🥰
And thanks for this superlative performance of this favorite music....
Herzlichen Dank für das Hochladen all´ dieser tollen Videos!
Excellent, thank you for this upload and that we listeners can discover this great music by Grieg
É incrível a transformação orquestral de ritmos e temas tradicionais!
Ausgezeichnet wie immer vielen Dank hr.
The second chapter is the most beautiful and memorable
sencillamente maravillosas, música e interpretación.
The final pages of the fourth dance are dazzling, especially in this recording. Can't be heard often enough, or loud enough!
Norwegian dances op.35, piano 4-hands (ORIGINALLY), HERE PARVO HAS 2 HANDS AS DO MOST OF THE ORCHESTRA INSTRUMENTALISTS).
For the rest of his life, Edvard Grieg loved playing the piano duo, and he did so with his wife, Nina. She was an outstanding singer and an excellent pianist. One of her special abilities was the Vomblattspiel. In Grieg's concerts, both played very often Norwegian dances.
PS: of course this whole work is good, but the hard, heavy parts are outstanding.
Thank for uploading!
Greetings from Hungary:)
Entertaining and enjoyable. Just easylistening.
Beautiful !!!
Wonderful. This is taken at quite a lick
ノルウェー舞曲/グリーグ
楽しい曲。踊り明かすこともあれば静かに散歩することもある。そんな感じの一曲。
Ravissante flûtiste 🙂😍
Brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
holy hell that's fast
also dang that oboe sounds like a clarinet his tone is so ful
The third one is also used in Peer Gynt. I'm not sure though what came first. The Peer Gynt music, the composition of the four dances, or if the melodies are maybe even traditional and just elaborated on by Grieg.
Dette er et bra opptreden
I had to audition on "Animato" but Sul G. 🙄 I am jealous that they made the decision to play it on the G AND D strings. 😭
Cute oboe!!!
좋습니다.
6:33 Norge Rundt flash backs
J'adore !
Fantastic
8:01 Oh Paavo, I want to dance with you!
6:33 is the norwegian ice cream van theme
Lol! Yes! I remember hearing that through my neighbourhood whenever "Isbilen" (the Ice cream truck) would swing by, but I actually didn't know it was Grieg! I remember it being the intro for a norwegian TV-show as a kid, so I just thought it was composed by whomever would compose for that particular show.
Probably the best ice cream truck music in circulation
Las danzas noruegas nos hacen soñar nos invitan a jugar
Anyone know what the bass trombone part is like for this? Depping on this in a few weeks...
Matthew Dockray If it’s anything like the tuba part, there’s not much to it. I have played the tuba part, and it’s tacet for two movements and then for the others it’s a classic bass line on one and two. Fun to play though! Hope that helps!
I wonder if anyone can hear the triangle?
I Am Happy
Hi
❤️
❤️😍😍
The "strong" parts are excellent. Grieg is underrated - to me. Always Mozart and Beethoven are admired as the gods of classic music, but - for me - none of them composed such great, "soulrecharging" melody minutes as Grieg. Turkish March? Eine Kleine Ncht Musik? Not bad, but In the Hall of the Mountain King (with choir ending) is 100 times worthier, much deeper, weighter. Or take Moonshine sonata's 3. movement. Good, but 40% redundant repetition.
I also love Grieg for his wonderful melodies, but we must remember that Mozart and Beethoven were composers of classical period and Grieg is from the Romantic era. These are two different types of music - I don't think we should compare them. Furthermore Beethoven's music had a huge impact on many of the works which were composed later. So - if we love Grieg - we should appreciate Beethoven.
Weisst jemand wer der esrte Horn spielt?danke.
Probably not the highest inspiration of Grieg, but a chrming score.
Who is the principal clarinettist!
Does it care? I do like the whole orchestra!! Thank you Mr. Järvi for your interpretation of this beautiful music!!
Clarinetist or oboïst ?
🙂🙂👍👍💙💙🇭🇺
:)
