Oh Scott, Now you have got yourself the "Pin." If you had been a regular viewer, or indeed paying attention to the video(s) you would have known that the channel is sponsored by "Milwaukee" tools.
Amazing to time travel Steve, looking back at the weather then and as it is now I think snorkels and flippers now. Alex is proving that he now thinks of the job and now you are listening Steve. Plaster came off on Tuesday and it has been replaced with a stretch covering rather like a sock but its great to have a proper shower. I have ordered my new osmo and it arrives tomorrow (Saturday) be great to be able to post videos of my antics on my scooter. Please take care old friend its not good to see you in pain. Best regards as ever Ken
Wish you guys were further down South..really struggling to find someone that I can trust to build my double garage for me..building trade seems to be enjoying boom time and all I’m getting is F off prices from anyone local.. love you work and commitment to quality.
Its my first watch yes lads it's grate to see proper tradesmen in motion as a welder stroke/ fitter. I love watching this it's great keep the content going. Haa it great to father and son as well top job 👏 🍻🏴🏴
happy birthday for tomorrow Alex I hope I have that right and Steve pain must be bad mate but you are still doing a great job ,it always worries me that all that damp course goes down and the building really is not connected to the foundations ,just me I think .
What happens with the tricky exterior wall by the adjoining property in terms of rendering ? Can it be accessed or would it just get tanked as best as possible?
@JayEFC1969 The fencing panel could be lifted out on the boundary fence. So, after consultation and agreement with the neighbour, access to that section of wall is a viable option via that route. 👍🧱😁
Nice job guys .. it looks like the pur and pir insulation is getting used a lot more now in the uk ? It is a way better insulation compared to rock or glass wool , for a brick wall at least ;)
A silly question from a non-builder, what was the reason for having to build the internal blockwork first. As you said it makes it a lot harder for you.
Been doing construction for nearly 50 years and watching you deal with your hip issues is painful to watch, I can only imagine how hard it is to do your job
You know I’m a supporter of your channel Steve so I’m gunna say it dont take offence but watching you hobble around bout time you face Alex the reigns get him laying and setting out you don’t even need to have a trowel in ya hand just guide and get another lad in with Alex they can do the do all the labour you can take it easy !! I’ve had to do it since. My accident
Still think you should let Alex take the lead only way he’ll grow in confidence mate not easy letting go but he’ll relish it and you’ll feel lot better each week 👍
Got to be said you do look really uncomfortable Steve. Really feel for you. Great video though and you two always do a professional job despite your problems. Thanks for posting.
question i forgot to put a damp course in yes i know it was dumb but where it is dont really matter but what is the best product and best way to put one in apart from taking brick work out
The best way would to be rake out the mortar course and put in a DPC section at a time. I'm currently doing this on a garage conversion that needs a DPC putting in so if you want a video of it being done for clarification leave me your email address and I'll send you some clips of it being done.
@@manofvalor3679 I believe there is an expanding chemical barrier product available that can be injected into drilled holes in the course where the DPC should be. Developed for use in the retrofitting of older structures with moisture intrusion issues. No personal experience with it, so unsure about application, cost, warranty, etc., but worth some time to research IMHO. Cheers.

Great to see you guys well out of the ground. Lovely work.
Always relief 😮💨 🧱
12:29 Bring your manican to work day... actually supprised how long he stood still for given the wind and the insulation 😂

You can tell a true pro by how neat their block work is. Most look like a dogs dinner. Well done again lads.
Cheers Tony 🤜🏽🤛🏽👍🏽
Hi, love the videos, how come there’s no dpc tray?
No need 🧱👍🏽
Genuinely interested, so any water ingress hits that insulation runs down and just soaks away into the cavity?
@bushcraftbillycan 👍🏽🧱

It is Jay but it’s horrible to work with . We hate it 😔🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild yup it is a pain indeed .. we are used to it though nowadays 16 cm is the norm
@JayKTS . Jeez absolutely ridiculous Jay 😒🧱👍🏽
Do you like Marshalltown or Rose trowels, or another brand? I used Marshalltown for a long time until I grabbed a Rose, Rose my fav since.
Marshalltown all day long .
We given a rose . Worst trowel I’ve ever picked up . Gave it away as quick as I could 🤣🤣👍🏽🧱
I am not a builder so confused as to what a frisbie is , I assume it's some sort of spacer or joiner for the insulation
I tried to show one but couldn’t bloody find one😫. Yes it’s to hold the insulation tight against the inner leaf 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
Why ya put line on back of block old boy 😁
I explained it in the video
Make cavity 125 same as everybody else you grumpy old man 🤣🤣
A silly question from a non-builder, what was the reason for having to build the internal blockwork first. As you said it makes it a lot harder for you.
It really does .
This particular insulation has to be attached tight the the inner leaf which is a pain in the butt 😫👍🏽🧱

Steve ,it now July and we are still in thermals !!😞
Yep 🫣🥶 🧱👍🏽
Thank God for global warming imagine how cold it would be if we didn't have it, oh there's another flying pig!
Id offer to help.....but my spot on could be a bit different to yours 😂😂❤but having said that, I'm only 12 minutes north of Preston 🤠🤠😉
😂🧱👍🏽
Have you had your hip done yet?
Not till 2025 😒🧱👍🏽
When are you having your hip replacement surgery
Next year 😔🧱👍🏽
thought you had to use a thermal block internal with celotex or 150mm insulation?
Nope
Fibrelites are more than sufficient
