Come on lads. They’re just heavy misshapen blocks. I used to do stone work. Everything different shapes and sizes. You’re making a huge meal out of this. ❤
I’d of matched each side up too so it looked better rather than looking like two different bricklayers has built it. Shame.
You’re not the customer, it doesn’t matter what you would have done. It’s very easy to sit there at your keyboard criticising. You see 30 minutes of an 8 hour day.
Yes they are heavy which I couldn’t lift because I was ill and different sizes which they shouldn’t be .
65, 140 and 215 is what we should have worked with and as you say they are heavy so the last thing we need is to be rummaging through them and risking chipping them to match sizes up. Shoddy workmanship by the supplier cost us double the time building the stone work.
At the end of the day our customers are delighted with the stone work and that is all that counts
Congratulations you are officially a smart arse commenting on something you have no clue about .
The two sides don’t match because the customers wanted them random. You can sit there and spout off as much as you like . Congratulations you are more qualified than Alex and have more experience by 20 years👏🏽👏🏽.🥈
I’m more qualified than you and have 10 years on you woopy do 🥇.
Also are you self employed and if so can you afford to stop working for 21 months to wait for a hip operation?
Now go and find another channel to troll and write abuse to 👋🏾🧌
Calling our work an absolute joke is definitely not constructive criticism and the a good way to get somebody’s back up . The only person who brought up that you were a woman bricky was you and that has no relevance in this argument whatsoever , it just makes you look bad.
You are entitled to your opinion but have a think how you word it, you wouldn’t word it like that face to face and why do you have it in for Alex, he has never done stone work like this before, were you perfect on your first attempt.
If you’re going to shit talk somebody’s work and their son don’t expect them to just roll over and cry be ready for an equal response. Oh and it’s WOMEN ( plural ) not WOMAN ( singular )
Bye 👋🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild ah I thought we were friends. 😊You got the morning off, I’m more than happy to meet up. I meet people like you a lot, claiming this and that before I sack them. Your stone work is ok for your first time in my opinion, as long as the customer you go on about making happy knows your both learning on the job as well as charging them that’s fine. Sorry I thought he had no trade and you were blaming me. 😀I don’t believe this to be Steve. Being educated enough to write messages with grammar and correct spelling. 👍Though thanks for mentioning auto spelling getting woman and women confused, The reason I asked or mentioned being a woman is because in your previous message you said I was clueless, a keyboard warrior and that I’ve no idea though I’m more qualified than You both and as my name is obvious I thought my gender was being attacked so you then called me stupid. Hmmm. 🤔 it’s a lot easier to fix than an incorrect built wall. Don’t be nasty because in my opinion your son can’t lay stone shaped like blocks. Imagine real stone work. Bless him. He’s not qualified enough to work for me. He’s just a handyman. Though soon I’m sure he will be the best as You’re teaching him, Maybe he should learn in a college not someone’s property, but that’s just the norm. I personally don’t know how you have a channel if you behave like this with comments you do not like. Like I said constructively, the block sorry stone work for your first time I guess is ok just not acceptable again in my opinion, its tidy but that’s it. It looks wrong unpleasant to the eye and bonded incorrectly in my opinion, Again your perps and joints are too close together to create a strong bond. 😊sorry for the misunderstanding, I’ve added some pictures to help you understand collectively as a family. ❤️
Okay.
Unbelievable you kept going for so long whilst in so much pain Steve, but I suppose it was a case of having to !
Glad you have finally got it done and you're on the mend. Sorry to hear your Mrs is not well. Hopefully she will get better very soon.
Finally look after that lad of yours..Hes an absolute diamond
Great video as always
Cheers lads
🥹🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
Superb work as ever in a tight spot, and playing tunes on tricky materials. Sure I'd have walked into it and knocked it down or backed into the scaffolding bolts 😂. Liked the bit of Alex finger raking. Look forward to the next one 😊
Cheers John 🧱🧱👍🏽

Thanks again Mick 🥹🥹🫶🏽🙌🏽🧱👍🏽
I like to see it when guys appear happy on a job. You did a job rebuilding a front wall and some piers by a remote country road and you seemed quite unhappy. Always love the videos. I'm not a brickie, I'm a London Cabbie and watch your videos whilst I'm on the rank. Keep up the good work. 👍🏾
Cheers Kevin , we’ve not been happy for over 12 months while my health has deteriorated. I was in crutches by December due to osteoarthritis in my hip .
Fortunately I had my hip replacement 8 th Jan so finally feeling myself again . Thanks for sticking with us 🥹🙌🏽🧱👍🏽🙏🏽
@SteveAndAlexBuild Glad to hear you're feeling better. I've work on building sites a lot of my life. Constantly walking over uneven ground can play havoc with the hips and knees. We're around the same age so I feel you.
@kevingeorge9727 thanks very much 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Great work

Well done I like the look of the sand stone wall. Are you up and mobile working thru your physical therapy? Hope it’s gong well. Cheers mates 😊
Thats gonna look great when done. 👍👍 I know you are recovering slowly Steve but that's incredible with Chris having a broken hip. Bloody hells bells! How is she at the moment ?
Not good , she has a lung infection so been in a week now 🥺🧱👍🏽
@ Oh hell. Really hope she gets well soon mate. Shes in the right place to get treatment 👌
Una pregunta.
Porque el mortero no lo echáis en cubetas? Me imagino que será por el tipo de palaustra que utilizáis que no recogería bien en el interior de la cubeta.
Así os ahorraría muchos pasos. Muy buen video. Saludos
We don’t use buckets to work from in the uk .
Thanks very much 🧱👍🏽
How is the recovery from the surgery going?
Really well thanks 🩼🦿🩼🧱👍🏽
Forgot to add my question in the last comment Lads are these rails and ties made of stainless steel or galvanised mild steel because my guess is if it's galvanised mild steel and damp erodes away the finish then they will rust and start expanding and cause all sorts of problems.
Stainless 🧱👍🏽
You have to be very accurate with your cutting with that stuff too, 1 or 2 mm out and it sticks out like a sore thumb
Very true 🧱👍🏽
looks good have you had your hip don yet fella
8 th January 🩼🦿🩼🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild its the 28 jan now so its all over now just the wait for recovery now i hope it went all well and not to painful there fella wet well soon
@TedJones-p7x going great thanks 🩼🦿🩼🙌🏽🙌🏽
No French audio 😢
Sorry about that 🫣
Built many a square meter of that stone, not light and different sizes
And sucks the water out of the mortar
Yes yes and yes! 😂🧱👍🏽
built an extension out of pitched faced stone in penistone we ordered the the stone which wasnt cheap at all. was meant to come 6" 7"8" and 9" coursed. all the the sizes were a joke when they arrived. went through no end of stihl saw blades and re dressing of stone. job looked mint when finished but these reclamation yards are a bunch of rip off merchants.😡
Mmmm sounds familiar 😒🧱👍🏽
FitzBrick obviously fits_stone!
Fits everything 🙌🏽🙌🏽👌🏼
