Definitely thirstier than people think. Linearis I just grow in straight up water and in a tent and it seems to like it. I've also grown it in pon and seemed to like that too. Hoya Thomsonii I had and I'm sad I sold it for no reason ...but it was a slow grower and did absolutely nothing so maybe that's why I sold it. Spartioides (I probably butchered that spelling) I dont have . Khroniana just thrive in leca for me and moss, Sometimes I do a mix of both. Curtisii I've found is easy but I cant do it in soil only in leca or moss. As far as ones I'll never buy again I'd say are Compacta, lacunosa and wayettii! Never again. Sorry for the novel lol I do agree that Hoya are way thirstier than people think. I drown mine and that seems to be the game changer plus blast em with light in a tent.
Hi Jaclynn, For the Hoya variegated heuschkeliana I put mine in small glass jar with leca/PON in cabinet under grow light (top shelf) and is growing well, new growth is a pretty pink! For me small Hoya cuttings, especially those I receive in sphag, go right in a parfait of leca/PON and do great. For those without a cabinet use a cloche. Has solved my losing so many little hoyas. It did not work with hoya sigallatis. Enjoy your videos!

I have at least six out of your 10 hoya that you spoke about in this video. IMO those that you were struggling with appear to be ones that require more water. Those that have thin leaves I find to be very thirsty so do not allow them to dry out completely. All my hoya are undergrow lamps so they do need water on a weekly basis and I mean a thorough watering. With the last week or so being on the warm side I have even given them a splash of water in the middle of the week because things were just drying out too rapidly.
I have 3 currently in the struggle. Hoya Bella yes I feel like I’m constantly saying did you lose more leaves?, Hoya sunrise I think it’s just this individual plant but it’s definitely dying, Hoya lacunosa has a new yellow leaf almost daily. My polynuera is good and my Linearis hates winter but it’s doing amazing now.

My hoya buys wouldnt do anything for months until i bought a sansi blue/pink light. Now ive got growth/leaves/something happening. Worth a go because the light is inexpensive. My NGG loves me, my polynuera was one not doing well until the new grow light. Now its going mental with action!
I'd love more hota care videos, especially about watering or growing in self-watering or semi-hydro set ups. I struggle with dry rot from going to long without watering and rot from watering too often. Hoya are my favorite but so difficult
I'm sorry, I don't grow in semi-hydro, I only use soil 🖤. For self-watering I use the same substrate, just in a self-watering pot! I do have lots of videos on the Hoya care playlist about soil and repotting, though!! I'm not much help when it comes to soil-less 🤷🏻♀️
I struggled with the H. Poly and I’m on my 3rd one and so far we’re good. I still haven’t figured her out I’m on a complicated water cycle when it comes to my Hoyas😅 I also struggle with the H. Australis Lisa I’m on my 4 or 5 and she’s currently down to one stem in perlite rooting with 4 leaves and slowly working on a new set. I actually just need to repot them all into better soil. Definitely gonna rewatch your Hoya repot vid and make your mix for them.
Hi Jaclynn! I love your videos and plant shop suggestions. They now know me and my child at Paul and Sandy’s! As far as suggestions…how about plant care 101…must haves for caring for houseplants…fertilizers, tools, water meters, etc Maybe talk about your soil mixture for plants again. Another suggestion…cacti. How to care for them. If you’ve already done these sorry, I’m a new follower. Everything you do is great and educational. I’m learning so much!
I have had blooms on both my bella and spartioides 💚 mine bith came from a nursery in moss so I have left them in moss.. my problem child was my sunrise... it was also in moss but now its got root rot....
@@jaclynns.jungle i think the same would be good for the bellas too, they dont seem to like as much heat and light as other Hoyas. Hopefully that helps!
Oh Jaclynn, you are such a busy person and all that you show us is fine, I really love all of your Hoya and how they are doing and really appreciate all that you share and give us ideas on how to care for them, with those dang mealy bugs some of my Hoya have struggled but are not totally dead yet, I guess that is what happens when we are plant parents, everything is a learning experience. I love your eyelashes they are so long and pretty, I remember when I was younger mine were longer but now they are not so if I want long ones I have to use faulse ones. Oh I know that you will keep trying to care for all of your Hoya, and it is just part of being a plant parent, we all struggle and some do good and some are on the struggle bus. Keep doing as good as you are doing and don't be hard on yourself, if they want to live they will and if they don't then they will die, and that is just the way things work. I have also been struggling with those dang mealy bugs, and it is just what it is. Thanks so much for always having a great video to watch and all of your good advice, I am wishing you and David a blessed rest of your day, sending love and many hugs, bye! 😂🤗😻👏👏🙌👍💜💜💞💖
20:00 to 20:13 - TRUTH. I was able to help my variegated heuschkeliana recover but I’m still struggling with my Rosita. Other Hoya that I nearly killed from lack of water but are now doing great - Lisa and Krohniana super silver. Also, Jaclynn… do you struggle with Dischidia? I had a beautiful, healthy 1. watermelon (ovata) that was doing great until I repotted it. It completely died. I bought a new one but I can’t get this one to thrive. 2. Variegated Oiantha - I don’t even know which # I’m on with this one. I love this plant soooo much and want a basket of it soooo bad. 3. String of nickels #2. The 1st one just shriveled up and died & I think the new one that I have is going to suffer the same fate.
As always I enjoyed your video. Many thanks! After many years of growing houseplants I am convinced that some plants have good genetics and some do not. However, I also believe that technically there are varieties within each plant genus that are truly more difficult to grow or we wouldn’t consistently hear from individuals that they have tried to grow them three times and not one of the three attempts has been successful. Finding the perfect growing conditions for some plants can be challenging. 😵💫 Good luck to all of us! 👌🪴🥰
My varigated heuschkeliana was doing amazing in my prop box... very slowly moved it out of the humidy, and got it happy in my conditions. Seemed fine until I took it out of moss and put it in a soil mix... root rot in like 2 weeks. I was so said. I took 5 months to get the roots long enough to plant. It went back in a prop box to rehab and is doing great again but I fear it will live it's life in there... I'm scared to get it out of moss again. Exact thing happened to my krohniana splash too. Maybe my mix needs to be a lot more chunky.
I would love to see a video on growing hoya and other plants in an apartment where there isn't the option of having a separate plant room and where there is literally an electric baseboard heater under each window. My unit definitely has its challenges and not sure if I'm missing opportunities to make the most of the space and overcome it's built in challenges.
I’ve worked very hard on my Hoya collection and finally after years of TLC most are blooming for the first time!!! Nobody told me the blooms smell like cat pee!!! The blooms are absolutely gorgeous, but it’s hard getting used to that smell!!😂🌿
If you like krohniana silver, you should try growing one. Mine flowered for the first time and the smell was divine! It smells like jasmine. I have it and 13 other hoya sitting under grow lights by my desk and now my wayetii tricolor is putting out a first bloom. I'm really hoping it won't smell like cat pee, lol.
Hi! What I noticed from your list is that some of these do not like to dry out at all. My Bella, variegated hueschkeliana, and polyneura are in self watering pots (coco/perlite mix) I let them slightly dry out before refilling.
@@jaclynns.jungle haha if you have anthuriums many Hoyas like similar care. I started my plant journey with anthuriums so I struggle a lot with plants like wpp/ppp philos and thick succulent Hoyas. When I discovered thirsty hoyas I was so happy I could finally grow them!! I have about 50 species now and I’ve found that these really enjoy/need self-watering in my conditions! Undulata, silver plants like NGG, lacunosa silver, krohniana silver and silver dollar are some of the thirstiest in my experience. Others include: variegated lacunosa, var huesch, GPS 7240, burmanica- Srsly this girl will drop leaves if you let her dry out, any Bella’s especially variegated, pandurata, carrii NS13-064, IM-04, thomsonii (both colors), aff Serpens xiaojie 001 (this is 1000x easier than Serpens I’ve killed Serpens more times than I care to admit), polyneura broget/splash adores water! Sorry if this is too much. I wish I could grow the funky veiny Hoyas but I just kill them every time, your Hoyas are fabulous!! 💚
@@damaris864-s9p it's never too much! I've had trouble with all of those same Hoya 🤣 seems we have opposite watering habits!! I've really been downsizing though and I think that will help me not get behind in watering them all! ☺️
I have close to 70 different species of Hoya and haven't lost one since I stopped listening to those who keep saying "hoyas like abuse". I water mine every 7-10 days, when they outgrown their pots I transplant them into the next larger pot and I don't use a humidifier for additional humidity (granted I live in the south and my household level is always around 50%). I give them east light and the smailer ones are on a shelf system with only medium/high strength light. Also have never had any pests once in my care. Maybe this is all because I don't abuse my plants, who knows.
I have my herch f it I can barely say it let alone spell it. I have mine in pon in a self watering pot and it has bloomed for me. I also keep my polyneura in pon and a self watering pot. All my Hoyas are right underneath my grow lights. Barrina T5
I only got 9 Hoya. I'm struggling with my Bella as well. I wasn't going to say I was struggling with it but I am but my Krohniana 'super silver', (is it spelt khroniana or krohniana or are they two different plants? the tag said krohniana) it is super silver, super bushy/lush and long in a hanging basket I got for $60 but the leaves look like it's thirsty but it's my most frequent watered Hoya and the leaves are falling off. My Linearis I bought it super long also got for $60 and I think I remember the leaves being thicker but they look really thin now so I'm not sure what's going on with it.
First off, i love your videos!! You're so sweet and funny!! Now, I am no where near the grower that you are, however...the hoyas that you are struggling with, obviously we know those do need water I went thru that too...I had a bout with my wilbur graves from russia and a few other 'silver' ones. I recently learned about doing a sulfur treatment. I am sure that you know all about that. I have close to 600 hoya lol...so I use pon, fluval, chunky mix...really whatever I think the specific plant will like...but recently I made a paste and painted on the sulfur onto the ones that were struggling. David Chaimberlain (sp???) anyhow...if its a possible invisible mite issue or maybe they are sulfur deficient, doing the treatment will not hurt (just is super ugly and messy) I hope this helps! May be give it a try! It was easy to do, I wore latex gloves for sure cuz that shit burned my hands!!! Let me know if you've already tried this or are willing to try and share your results!! TY
For all plants, not only Hoya, despite all what we've done to make them happy or thrive or live and yet still want to die , If we have a balcony or yard with good shade or partial shade or indirect sun and the weather is not snowing or too cold, these plants should go outside. My aloe was out when got better I placed inside and now alive. I've been doing this for my dying or not thriving and they got better. Goodluck to every1. Oh yeah and keep treating those with pests even still outside. I think the plants that are not established or with pests need healing from nature outside esp with the natural air😊
Where to start these are super slow growing in my care hoya curtisii, endauensis, caudata sumatra, leonensis, mathilde & crassipetiolata splash The polyneura has multiple blooms, thomsonii & serpens are finally taking off, the lacunosa mint coin & wilbur graves china is given me beautiful leaves. All other hoyas are doing fine but those others fingers and toes crossed because I don't know. They get the same treatment so...
Oh! I've got some spots on my macrophylla variegated or however it's spelled or whatever it's called. They're super thin and 'skin' feeling spots. Is this a sign of over watering or under ?
Totally agree with most of your list except Hella and polyneura. Both are in semi-hydro with a constant reservoir (most of my other Hoyas are in a soil mix). I won't grow them in anything else after seeing how effortlessly they thrive this way, maybe they are thirstier? I don't know but their growth rate in just a year from cuttings is amazing! Wish I could say the same about every Hoya. 😂
Thanks for the list Jaclynn! I feel like all these Hoya are small leaf ones or thin leaf ones that you seem to struggle with! All my small leaf hoya go right into semi hydro and they do amazing because they've always got water. I don't know how I'd go caring for so many Hoya in soil! Also my NGG died too and my normal green one doesn't really grow either :P I just cut it a couple months back and no sign of a new growth point yet lol
They are extremely slow growers. Two cuttings I’ve had for over 2 years are just now putting out new growth. Patience is needed for these premies as I call them.
I killed my linearis, haven’t purchased another one, but my Hoya retusa is fine, every time I water my australis it looses leaves, Hoyas do strange things.!!!
A good video would be your 10 struggling hoyas and how you overcame it. If you have cracked the code, please share. I've bought atleast 5+ hoya bellas and a few linearises. The thin leaf hoyas are the most trick to me. I know they enjoy water a little more because of the thin leaves.
Love your videos 💕💛 For some video suggestions, maybe a most unique plant tour, maybe a video of you showing where you have your hoyas if they are hanging 💛 or ANY hoya videos ✅ ( I’m here for 😊 )
How much humidity do you need to provide for M. Albo and M.Thai? Since my area can have very low humidity (live in semiarid Colorado), I wonder if I can provide enough 🤔 humidity for the above plants to thrive without crisping...I would hate to invest without knowing...do I need a tent for them? I really cannot afford that, either... I have a problem with herschkiana, variegated as well. It just doesn't grow, much. My polyneura has gone 😢 backwards, losing a few 🍃.
They actually don't need more than average room humidity to be honest. They like more, like at least 60%, but they don't necessarily need it. I actually have one of my Thais in my bedroom with no extra humidity, I removed the humidifier, and it grows a bit slower than the one in the greenhouse, but it's totally fine!! Just have to acclimate them is all 😊
I struggle with Bella as well. If my current cutting dies, I’ll never buy it again. I also struggle with macrophyla and I have no idea why. It does great for a while, and then it just doesn’t. My pot of gold went in the garbage today, doubtful I’ll buy it again.
How is that watering system you set up working? I thought that would be a great help for all your plants? But I know a lot of your hoya are in a different area. I’ve put a few of the one that weren’t doing anything for me in Leca and that seemed to get them going really well. you should dabble in leca. It’s alot easier than you would think and it’s very successful . And my Curtisii is growing crazy too. I’ve always watered mine from the bottom to prevent loss on the top. It’s beautiful. So….my suggestion is to try leca
How much is enough light for Hoya? Also, do you have any experience in transferring your Hoya from prop box to regular home conditions? I wouldn’t mind a video on Hoya care. ❤. Thanks for being you.. love your videos
It definitely varies depending on the species, but indirect medium light is usually the sweet spot! I have a video up about Hoya lighting specifically, and I'm happy to do one on how I prop and transfer them to soil 😊
I find variegated versions of most plants to be more of a pain to care for 😂 My polyneura, krohniana and NGG are some of my easiest and most vigorous growers! I also think most hoya(except for thinner leaves like the poly)or those that are super finicky, need more light especially to bloom. In my experience most hoya growers suggest higher light if there's issues with growth.
Mine actually get too much light under grow lights. Since reducing it they started to grow!! Light depends on the Hoya and what you're trying to do with it ☺️
Where did you keep your hoya linearis? It grows in the Himalayas in Bright but indirect light it will shrivel up in intense direct sun. Hoya curtisi grows fine for me as well.
I just got my first Hoya like 1.5 weeks ago and I haven't watered it yet since I thought they liked to be dry 😵💫 mine is a hindu rope I love it but I'm terrified to kill it
It depends on the Hoya variety! Some want water every 4 days and others can go well over 10 without it! Carnosa are ones that can go a while without it, but don't let it get too dry for too long or you can end up damaging the roots over time.
Ideas like plant care that work for you or worst plants or good plants also a video of soil u use what is your plant care or video of plant chores also what plants u thing is gonna be popular in 2023
Add me to the list of people saying Serpens likes to stay moist. Mine was six leaves for the longest time until I started watering it before it was fully dry. Now it’s huge and has about 30 growth points.
My Hoya Serpens is finally doing well and it’s mainly due to me just watering it like crazy. Never let it fully dry out. It was a struggle for so long. My problem biggest Hoyas have been: Curtisii Var compacta There are others that are no longer with us that I won’t mention
Compare hybrid plants with their parents and what the cross achieved. What plants you would like to cross and what traits of each parent you would hope to get?
Just a bit of advice that I have been doing is to learn where each Hoya originated and the weather conditions that they grow in. Some like it hot and steamy and others wet and cool conditions of mountainous regions. If we can’t replicate their needs then don’t buy that Hoya no matter how pretty or rare it is. Hoya Lisa and Curtisii are from Australia. An Aussie gardener said they like to be bottom watered when they are very dry. She called it butt chugging and I about died laughing!
The struggle is real- I believe we all have Hoya we find easy and others that well… ya. As for ideas, do you have any botanical garden near by that you can show us? 💚😎💚
Some of mine are actually getting too much light! Lighting depends on the variety a lot of the time, and the overall goal for growing that plant ☺️ but yes, they need more water than you'd think!
@Jaclynn's Jungle, how do they do in the desert? I don't have any windows that get bright light. Everything is either under grow lights in my bedroom or outside in the heat. My partner likes to turn off the grow lights in the living room when he wants to watch TV and doesn't turn them back on.

Definitely gonna rewatch your Hoya repot vid and make your mix for them.
I'm so determined with my new H. poly cuttings 😅
Hi Jaclynn! I love your videos and plant shop suggestions. They now know me and my child at Paul and Sandy’s! As far as suggestions…how about plant care 101…must haves for caring for houseplants…fertilizers, tools, water meters, etc
Maybe talk about your soil mixture for plants again.
Another suggestion…cacti. How to care for them. If you’ve already done these sorry, I’m a new follower. Everything you do is great and educational. I’m learning so much!
I'm so glad you're learning from me!! The people at Paul's and Sandy's are just the sweetest aren't they?! Thank you for all your suggestions ☺🥰
I have had blooms on both my bella and spartioides 💚 mine bith came from a nursery in moss so I have left them in moss.. my problem child was my sunrise... it was also in moss but now its got root rot....
Maybe try the polyneuras on the shelf behind you, ive noticed mine dont like grow lights much. Idk just an idea 😅
Definitely not a bad idea!
@@jaclynns.jungle i think the same would be good for the bellas too, they dont seem to like as much heat and light as other Hoyas. Hopefully that helps!
@@jorlandia4363 you've definitely got me thinking I might move a handful of them to the shelves instead of the cabinet or greenhouse 😊
Just got a couple new Hoya nothing exciting like you
My Hoya Bella seems to like more water than my other hoya
That seems to be a trend with me 😅
I would like to see more videos on Dischidia (Hoya cousins) also best fertilizers to grow Hoyas faster please🌿
Good tips, rhipsalis is a plant not many people talk about, maybe include some tips about your care for them👍

🤗♥️💚🌱🌿🪴🏵Hugs adorable plant fam. Sending healing and thriving vibes.

Also a video how you made all you albo leaves face the same direction, I literally can’t figure it out yours looks beautiful
It only has one light source! If it's in ambient light they'll face all over, but it if has one primary source they will all face the same way!
Thin line between love and hate for my hoya retusa!
Hi! What I noticed from your list is that some of these do not like to dry out at all. My Bella, variegated hueschkeliana, and polyneura are in self watering pots (coco/perlite mix) I let them slightly dry out before refilling.
I definitely need to water them more often 😅
@@jaclynns.jungle hahaha that’s the beauty of collecting plants. Our collections really reflect us and our habits in the most beautiful ways 💚
Yea, I don't think we should be abusing our plants lol
I lost my Serpens and Thomsonii. My Heuschkeliana variegata and my New Guinea Ghost are barely hanging on. Some hoyas are just difficult.
Maybe a video on thrifting pots or decorating pots yourself!
I've been meaning to paint some pots
My Linearis I bought it super long also got for $60 and I think I remember the leaves being thicker but they look really thin now so I'm not sure what's going on with it.
i struggle with hoya. so this video was helpful!!
I'm definitely gonna go more in depth with Hoya care this year too 😊
I just had to go count my hoyas. 278. Not too shabby. And l only have 4, l believe, on the way😀
Video idea
Update
How are all your imports doing from last year or last 6 months???
First off, i love your videos!! You're so sweet and funny!! Now, I am no where near the grower that you are, however...the hoyas that you are struggling with, obviously we know those do need water I went thru that too...I had a bout with my wilbur graves from russia and a few other 'silver' ones. I recently learned about doing a sulfur treatment. I am sure that you know all about that. I have close to 600 hoya lol...so I use pon, fluval, chunky mix...really whatever I think the specific plant will like...but recently I made a paste and painted on the sulfur onto the ones that were struggling. David Chaimberlain (sp???) anyhow...if its a possible invisible mite issue or maybe they are sulfur deficient, doing the treatment will not hurt (just is super ugly and messy)
I hope this helps! May be give it a try! It was easy to do, I wore latex gloves for sure cuz that shit burned my hands!!! Let me know if you've already tried this or are willing to try and share your results!! TY
For sure! Just don't wanna use sulphur in here so I've been trying other stuff first 😊 I ralk about my Hoya journey a lot in my plant care videos 🥰
For all plants, not only Hoya, despite all what we've done to make them happy or thrive or live and yet still want to die ,
If we have a balcony or yard with good shade or partial shade or indirect sun and the weather is not snowing or too cold, these plants should go outside. My aloe was out when got better I placed inside and now alive. I've been doing this for my dying or not thriving and they got better. Goodluck to every1. Oh yeah and keep treating those with pests even still outside. I think the plants that are not established or with pests need healing from nature outside esp with the natural air😊
When is it ok to repot or how small of pots for Hoyas?
When it's pot is full of roots, repot into someonting only an inch or two larger 😊
Planty updates plants that easy to care etc
Where to start these are super slow growing in my care hoya curtisii, endauensis, caudata sumatra, leonensis, mathilde & crassipetiolata splash
The polyneura has multiple blooms, thomsonii & serpens are finally taking off, the lacunosa mint coin & wilbur graves china is given me beautiful leaves.
The concensus is definitely that these are on the thirsty side!
I think these ones tend to be thirstier and have more delicate roots. Which means I need to be less neglectful, for sure!
I would like to see a video on the most best smelling Hoya like the Hoya Estrella waterfalls..
I honestly have a bad sense of smell and don't think any of my blooms smell like much 🤣
Hoya curtisii does amazing for you because it is one of those hoya that thrives when you neglect it 😂.
That makes sense 😅
I killed my linearis, haven’t purchased another one, but my Hoya retusa is fine, every time I water my australis it looses leaves, Hoyas do strange things.!!!
Hi Jack would you do a video of your hoya cabinet pots i love them. Take care girl.
I've gotten most from small local nurseries ☺🥰 but I'm happy to show off my fave pots! I love collecting the small ones! 😊
Those Darn Hoyaaaaaaaas be testing my ability to keep plants! 🤣😤
Just have to find the sweet spot 😊👍🏻
A good video would be your 10 struggling hoyas and how you overcame it. If you have cracked the code, please share.
I've bought atleast 5+ hoya bellas and a few linearises. The thin leaf hoyas are the most trick to me. I know they enjoy water a little more because of the thin leaves.
Love your videos 💕💛
For some video suggestions, maybe a most unique plant tour, maybe a video of you showing where you have your hoyas if they are hanging 💛 or ANY hoya videos ✅ ( I’m here for 😊 )
My most unique/weird plants is legit already on my list to film this week! How did you know? 😅
Just have to acclimate them is all 😊
Water meter and I have been battling aphids and sestemic pest food that battle from the roots
A video of your favorite 5 hoya right now 💚
That's already on my list ☺🥰
I struggle with Bella as well. If my current cutting dies, I’ll never buy it again. I also struggle with macrophyla and I have no idea why. It does great for a while, and then it just doesn’t. My pot of gold went in the garbage today, doubtful I’ll buy it again.
My pot of gold looks like trash rn too 🤷🏻♀️
I have the hoya polynera variegated and that biach is struggling with me 😢 i think i have a bad hoya
That's why I haven't gotten it 🥲
How is that watering system you set up working? I thought that would be a great help for all your plants? But I know a lot of your hoya are in a different area. I’ve put a few of the one that weren’t doing anything for me in Leca and that seemed to get them going really well. you should dabble in leca. It’s alot easier than you would think and it’s very successful . And my Curtisii is growing crazy too. I’ve always watered mine from the bottom to prevent loss on the top. It’s beautiful. So….my suggestion is to try leca
I've tried leca. Not for me!! And the watering system works great! But it's in my greenhouse and most of my Hoya are in my cabinet ☺
you should do a video on scindapsus! yours always looks so good.
I feel like I have, but I might be wrong 🤣 if I did it would be in my plant care playlist ☺
I spray my hoyas with 75% isopropyl to desicate the mealy bugs. No issues at all with this method.
I do as well. It doesn't always work though 🤷🏻♀️
How much is enough light for Hoya? Also, do you have any experience in transferring your Hoya from prop box to regular home conditions? I wouldn’t mind a video on Hoya care. ❤. Thanks for being you.. love your videos
I feel like there is a lot of conflicting info here on RUclips on the lighting for Hoya. ;/
I guess the best thing to do would be for me to look up each one’s native habitat, but i don’t feel like it haha…😅
It definitely varies depending on the species, but indirect medium light is usually the sweet spot! I have a video up about Hoya lighting specifically, and I'm happy to do one on how I prop and transfer them to soil 😊
Oh also an idea for a video, maybe info on importing from different countries.. do we need permits, etc? Acclimation.. etc
I had it in my bedroom, nothing crazy 🤷🏻♀️
Sorry i don't know mine is slowly coming along
How about the Hoya Ratusa? Thank you for the video🧡🧡
Have you ever thought about trying Fluval Stratum for the soil?
Yes I do like to use it for cuttings!
Ideas like plant care that work for you or worst plants or good plants also a video of soil u use what is your plant care or video of plant chores also what plants u thing is gonna be popular in 2023
I've done a few of these!! ☺👍🏻
Add me to the list of people saying Serpens likes to stay moist. Mine was six leaves for the longest time until I started watering it before it was fully dry. Now it’s huge and has about 30 growth points.
Point taken haha!! I will do my best to stop neglecting these thirsty ones! 😊
@@jaclynns.jungle LOL! I found that Curtisii was the same when it was little. Once they get mature they don't seem to care quite so much :)
@@littleheaven70 yea my curtisii props are far more annoying to care for than the mother plant lol
@@jaclynns.jungle Fussy little things! 😄
How about the pros and cons of imports for plants hard to get here in the USA or to expensive here and cheaper in other countries.
Solid idea! Thank you! 😊
Love hoyas, don't have too many right now but hoping to build that up in the next few months 🙏🏻 🪴🍃🙂✨️💚
You won't regret it ☺
Hoya Heuschkeliana is a very slow grower because of its variegated leaves
My Hoya Serpens is finally doing well and it’s mainly due to me just watering it like crazy. Never let it fully dry out. It was a struggle for so long.
My problem biggest Hoyas have been:
Curtisii
Var compacta
There are others that are no longer with us that I won’t mention
Variegated compacta also hates me. That's on my no buy list 😅
Serpens needs very high humidity and most people who are successful with it raise it in a terrarium. Hope that helps.
All of the Hoyas on this list are the ones that succumb to flat mites easiest. You may want to see if that’s the issue.
Have you ever treated with sulfur for flatmites?
I have not!
Video suggestion, one on pet friendly or deadly plants . Nobody labels them and it would be great info
True! Our HP and Lowe's don't name any houseplants any more.......it's crazy!
I have that one up in my plant care playlist!! ☺🥰
My Hoya are in a S facing window in terra Cotta pots and I have to water them every 3-4 days.
That sounds about right for the environment! I'm thinking I need to water some of these more often and my struggles will disappear haha!
Compare hybrid plants with their parents and what the cross achieved. What plants you would like to cross and what traits of each parent you would hope to get?
Oooh that sounds like a lot of fun!!
Right? I wish I could draw the crosses I imagine. I am not gifted that way. I'm pretty good at growing things, though. Lol
Haha, yes, butt chugging is a thing 😅
Have you already made a list of Hoyas that are easy to grow? I have purchased several Queen hoyas but they end up dying every time .
I have!! Check out my Hoya care playlist 😊
Curious.. where are the Hoyas you are having trouble with? Your tent or your home?
Both
Ever do leca? I’m mixed on my feels for that.
I tried it and it wasn't for me 🤷🏻♀️
The struggle is real- I believe we all have Hoya we find easy and others that well… ya. As for ideas, do you have any botanical garden near by that you can show us? 💚😎💚
Great video
Thanks!
Try to give your hoya another dose of sulfur again, I had to do that with mine again after a month or so , now they are fine again . For now.
People underestimate 2 things: how MUCH sun & water hoya need. If it's not working, it's probably too dry, or too dark.
Some of mine are actually getting too much light! Lighting depends on the variety a lot of the time, and the overall goal for growing that plant ☺️ but yes, they need more water than you'd think!
I am struggling on the sunrise. I am on my second one. 😟
Mine is half thriving and half dying 😅
How to propagate Hoya video please !!
I have one but I'm happy to do an updated version
I too cannot keep any Krohniana alive. I’m trying one more time with the black. If this one dies I’m done with them.
They're so finicky!
A plant tour
Definitely on the list now that we have more sunny days ☺
I don't have any Hoya yet. I have different plant addiction
You need one!!
@Jaclynn's Jungle, how do they do in the desert? I don't have any windows that get bright light. Everything is either under grow lights in my bedroom or outside in the heat. My partner likes to turn off the grow lights in the living room when he wants to watch TV and doesn't turn them back on.
@@kat1984 they'll be fine ☺
I can’t grow Hoyas a hues!
Have you ever had a Hoya Rebecca and if so, is it one that you wouldn't get again?
I have one currently and it's super easy going 😊
