Sadly no. I've never got around to playing any of the Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy games, besides Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
You should do the same list and exclude rpgs
I actually fought Nyx in Persona 3, If you're over leveled and you have a specific combination of Persona's, she doesn't take that long.
The longest boss fight I've ever fought was a long streak of youtube ads.
With respect but the tales of symphonia boss in question, while certainly difficult, it can be beaten in a time close to the 16 minutes without being an expert (i know it because i did it and i have video proof) .
About the final boss of okami, although it is a long battle, it only took me like 40 minutes as much on my first run because my problem was more figuring out how to beat it more than the difficulty of the battle itself, which was not particularly demanding either.
I actually had to fight the Adamantoise twice because the first time i fought him he randomly pushed me far away from the battle area 🙃🔫
4 times for me so i resorted to using the ring exploit to just insta kill it after fifteen or so minutes
Holy shit, those both sucked ass. I just took at least 1.5 - 2 hours to kill him.
It took me 8 hours.
Same. Never tried again. Thought it was a bug. 😔
@@brandonnewsome5737 sadly not a bug, just bad luck. the late game ring that can instakill tends to kill him within fifteen minutes max 30
I went into nyx avatar underleveled and boy was it a close fight. Three hours overall and half that time I was barely hanging on. Finished at 3 in the morning on a school night. Most memorable boss fight of my life.
I will never forget my first time fighting Nyx Avatar. I was just about to start when my dad came in and told me I needed to help him cut the grass. I told him I was about to start the final boss and I would be downstairs soon. Needless to say, he was pretty pissed with me when I was done. I had no idea how long he would take to beat.
What sucks about the Adamantoise is the fact there’s a chance he’ll ‘accidentally’ swat you with his foot, knocking you across the map and out of the fight area, WHICH RESTARTS THE FIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING!!
Oh no
I can think of a few fights that take awhile. Khan Mayker from Doom Eternal, Clotho from God of War 2, Leviathan phase 2 in Dead Space both of and remake (for different reasons). Mr Freeze from Arkham City, Wesker from RE5, The Butcher from the Diablo series, Vergil from DMC1&3, Abadon from Darksiders, Shaft for Castlevania SOTN, and finally, The Knight sentinels from Elden Ring. There's all the bosses I can list.
Saw Yiazmat in the description and immediately thought "Yeah, he was annoying as hell but if you want a REAL insanely long Final Fantasy fight they'd better have Absolute Virtue on here!" and you guys didn't disappoint. You had multiple Linkshells working together in literal 12+ hour shifts only to still lose when the bastard decides @ 30% hp to pop Chainspell+Manafont and just spam Meteor on anything and everything in sight, combatants and spectators alike! I still remember hearing about the first LS to take him down when they came across a wall glitch exploit that let them lock him in and after he went down a bunch of GM's warped in to give them all a round of applause before promptly suspending all their accounts for technically cheating even though it was pretty much the only way to kill the bastard lol.
Max damage is like 9999 per hit so draining LIKE 50 million HP can still take OVER 10 HOURS NOT including the time it takes to fight it since ever OTHER optional mob hunt boss besides Omega HAS to be killed in order to even fight Yiazmat.
@@veghesther3204 it took 5 hours to kill Yizmat in the vanilla version, not anywhere near 10 lol. IZJS and Zodiac Age versions fixed this by removing the damage limit
I was there during those dark times. So many wipes. So many deaths. Now we solo A.V.
@@sesshomarusama420 And if I read right, back in those days, if you died so many times, you actually lost _levels._ Imagine losing access to all of your gear because of sheer bad luck. That is *_HORRENDOUS_* game design.
@@exxor9108 It was more funny than horrendous. Yes, you could lose gear at a bad time, but it was RARE. Not so much a worry these days. It was a way to keep players from slacking and to always give your best. And it worked. It was a different time.
You forgot the fact that you can actually skip the end's fight entirely by popping him in the head in an earlier mission, where he's being carted around in a wheelchair.
also that if you do, he'll land on you for cheating, lmao
I saved it right before The End and came back a week or so later. He was ded D:
Absolute virtue. My linkshell fought him for 18 hours.
I remember those times one of the competing endgame LS in my server, Fairy, found a way to cheat AV by pulling him to the stairs/gates in Al'taieu and get him stuck, they were able to kill it a couple of times and get the loot before SE had to patch the loophole and declare players weren't killing it the way they intended and released a video of the devs killing it but showing the devs were even bigger cheaters instead. Then we had Pandemonium Warden which again ended up patched together with AV to limit their time and difficulty after all the press coverage of the 18+ hrs attempt... /sigh Then their difficulty became inconsequential after the lvl cap raise from 75 to 99.
@kamui004 I honestly wish they let FFXI be. I finished the Eureka quest in ff14 and I almost didn't want to leave. I loved going back to that kind of difficulty, games hold hands way too much lately.
That huge FFXV turtle, I accidentally fought under leveled & unknowing. I beat but took all my healing items and almost 3hrs.
It took me maybe twenty minutes to defeat Adamantoise. I'd heard ahead of time that it was supposed to be really long fight, so I expected it to take longer. I made sure I had some magic with the "death" effect attached, but I didn't actually think it would work. And yet, when Adamantoise had a little less than half its health left, the status effect finally kicked in.
This has me excited to see what final fantasy 16 has in store for us for lengthy boss battles!!
its for casuals, so I doubt it will have anything hard
Final fantasy sixtee- 😴😴😴😴. Yoshi p has ruined FF
@@toshiro-kano
Well seeing how he saved FF14 and people are liking the 16 demo(which is on easy for people to review, not actual gameplay difficulty)
I wonder how he ruined it exactly
@@treystaton282 same way he killed kingdom hearts
@@toshiro-kano
How did he kill Kingdom Hearts? He was never a part of it??
Video Gamer 1: “You have no idea how long I’ve been fighting that thing!”
Video Gamer 2: “At least you were battling a giant tortoise, while I was dealing with an old man sniper.”
Video Gamer 1: “Really?”
That awkward moment when you just finished playing Okami a few hours before this video was uploaded 😅😅
I myself have only recently got into gaming, so I can't remember fighting any bosses that were particularly difficult.
Adamantoise is actually pretty easy if you carry on spamming the Ring of Lucii and ensure you have a bunch of elixirs handy.
It's not even that hard what? I beat it in like 20-30 minutes without the ring
well the point of the video states LONGEST not the HARDEST.
@@sebastianpanlilio8875 20 minutes isn't that long. The difficulty was in direct response to you.
You don't need elixirs at all if you do the warp Point
@@toshiro-kano It's been a while so I may be off but I think it only took about 12 minutes with the ring
Having just beaten Grigori from Dragon's Dogma I think it deserves a spot on this list, it took me soooo long to finish the fight that I was considering going to sleep and continuing the next day.
I fkn love this game, it might be in my top 5 of my favorite games ever. The best thing to do, to me, is to pick a Sorcerer pawn with the Maelstrom spell. This thing is absolutely stupid. Not a lot of enemies are weak to Dark, but Grigori is one of them.
If you have Dark Arisen, you'll love the few bosses even more. There's one who can be long af too, I won't spoil you if you haven't played it yet. And my I ask you the vocation you use, and the vocation of your pawn ? I am always curious to know how people play since I have not seen a lot of Dragon"s Dogma players
😅
I just love how Kojima says "this Boss has a Timer, you have around one week to defeat the end. If you can't do it in time, I do it myself "
figuratively speaking of course
The adamantoise fight took me so long, that I ended up having to take 2 naps while fighting it 😩. PS4 was sounding like an AC unit after it was all done 😂
Really nice to see Abyssion on this list. TOS was by far the best tales game imo and it deserves more recognition. Just started replaying it last week.
He does NOT belong on this list several FF game bosses take HOURS to kill the Devils Arm boss can be poisoned to death and can take as low as 2 MINUTES for poison to leave him with 1 HP left before ANY other attack can kill him even on normal mode.
@@veghesther3204 they listed…3 or 4 final fantasy bosses. Like we get it, final fantasy makes lots of superbosses, the list would be boring if it was all FF. And it’s not like he was ranked high.
Imo Symphonia gets all the recognition already, it already has so many ports and even got a recent "remaster" again. Bandai Namco needs to show some love to the older games not properly localized (like Destiny PS2) and port those, as well as the other titles still stuck on the PS3 (Graces f, Xillia 1/2)
@@c01onel it was less a remaster than just another port. It didn’t fix 30fps or change literally anything.
I've beaten Yiazmat twice before, and that was no small feat for me. My first victory took me ten hours to pull while the second one took four hours. I know that there's a way to defeat it in just under an hour, but I've never managed to pull off the preparations for it.
ps2 version took me about 9 hours i have yet to fight it in zodiak age
@@Orcca779 I haven't played zodiak age either.
@@scottwestleysmith3196 Went around 8 hours in PS2 version. Still the longest fight I ever did - the sense of achievement was dulled by the sheer exhaustion of monitoring party members.
I never beat him in any version of the game. In the PS2 release, I had something like 300+ hours in the game, grinding to take on other hunts. If Yiazmat was the #1 most powerful optional boss in FF 12, then I think the closest I got to him was defeating the #4 most powerful boss.
I spent a few hours when the game first came out and just got bored.
Tried again with Zodiac age as apparently it’s significantly shorter now…..still got bored.
That final boss on Legend of Legacy for 3DS was a brutal battle that took TWO AND HALF HOURS to beat! His first form was tough enough, but when he took his second form I wanted to throw the system against the wall.
Absolutel Virtue back in the day was ROUGH!! We had a 3 LS alliance go after it and after 11 hours we manages to get it down to about half life and it despawned when a tank screwed up the aggro chain when he fell asleep at the keyboard.
Damn, that is rough as hell.
For very important matters here are two of the longest bosses who are cheap, tough, annoying, and irritating that a very long time to beat and who are too stubborn to be eliminated.
Gunstar Heroes-Green Seven Force boss.
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror-Dark Mind boss.
As a Metal Gear and MGS fan myself I can tell you there's an easy way to kill The End. What happens is that The End's parrot is the one who is able to see through the mountains and forest and then tell him on where to go. So what's the secret? You can actually tranquilize and eat the parrot. I don't remember if it is before or during the fight.
Also, there's an easier way for The Sorrow and Psychomantis as well. I forgot the easier way for The Sorrow but for Psychomantis is below:
*Remember that this was on PS1 and I'm not sure on how it will be on the remake.* So supposedly Psychomantis can read and erase your memory card on your PS1. To stop this from happening and making him confused during the fight you eill need to keep switching the memory card from dlot 1 to slot 2 and vice versa. The funny thing though? He makes comments about the games that you have saved unto your memory card. Lol
The Ur-Dragon from Dragon’s Dogma should be on this list.
The End is also one of the fastest boss fights as you can kill him before you even get to the point in the video.
You should do a list of obscure/hard to get to bosses. Like new game + exclusive bosses. My submission would be Epilogus from Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology. You have to do a 100% playthrough and get the best ending and then do it again on new game +. You would be hardpressed to find any screenshots or footage of it online, but I promise it exists.
I haven’t played most of these, but I remember that stupid monster you have to fight in the arena for force unleashed 2 dragged on forever. And then it just kept going. It stopped being fun after a while.
When it comes to the Adamantoise from Final Fantasy XV...
*laughs in Ring of the Lucii*
I remember my first fight with The End, took 90 mins lol
The battle with Yami is beautiful.... didn't mind the length.
Not sure if anyone actually played it on here or remembers it but there was a game for ps2 called seek and destroy. You played as a tank fighting a war against other tanks. It was fun to play. Now I don’t know if it was actually hard and lengthy but as a kid I always remember the final battle against the enemy tank king felt like it took forever to beat. He has three phase which might have caused this.
Adamantoise in Final Fantasy 15 was not a hard boss, not at all. He just had so much HP, it felt like it took forever to beat him. I took him on at level 85. I had farmed one other hunt, a giant bird-like thing that when you killed it, you got a special item that could let you break the damage limit for a set amount of time. So, I went through and redid that hunt at least 5 times, if I recall correctly, to get enough of that item. Then, I went out to try to take him down. I didn't keep an exact track of how long, but I think it was at least 1.5 - 2 hours, maybe more. The fight wasn't difficult, but damn, it took a loooooong time. If my memory serves, he only managed to kill one specific teammate (Gladio, I believe) twice. I immediately revived him, then restored his health, and got back to work. It was a tremendous relief to finally finish him off.
I had heard there was a aay to one-shot him, but I never really looked it up to try.
Proudly can say I've slayed ol' Yiazzy back on the PS2.
Nyx avatar from persona 3 ... it took me 1 and a half hour to almost beat him but at the very end he charms my party members to heal him
Shido from P5 took me around that long in total cause I was underleveled. It was awesome
I fought him for 2 1/2 hours before finally dying. I grinded to get Thor and finally beat him in a little over an hour.
Ouroboros from Bravely Default. A good number of phases, each taking a long time. Not to mention the cutscenes in between and him healing himself SO often. You really need to set aside some time to fight him.
Haven't played FFXV yet but I like the idea of a common enemy in the older games (Adamantoise) being turned into something more threatening in the newer ones.
Trema in FF X/2 was about as long a boss battle as I can take. Most other FF I’ve not completed are down to the length and the fact you need a specific strategy to beat.
THIS GUY JUST WON'T GO DOWN!
THANK YOU TO PUT PERSONA 3 FES. IM SO DEPRESS TO FIGHT THE NYX! :')
I remember yiazmat back in the day, took me about 4 hours. You can even zone in and out to take a break
Fought and defeated Adamantoise today! Only took about half an hour, but still felt rlly good beating it!
On the ff12.. its gonna cast reflect? So that when i heal myself.. its gonna fully heal him??? Did i hear it right??? Sooooo autopots could be the key healing..
4:33 oh i remember yami that damn fish took a couple of hours even with upgrade weapons
To those who've beaten Yiazmat, you're true Final Fantasy warriors. That Xenoblade Chronicles X boss, holy crap. Shame i never played the game since i don't have a Wii-U and there're no plans to port it to Switch, i'm a bit sad (C'mon devs please do it i'm begging you!)
It took me a month, but I did manage to defeat Yiazmat.
@@darkhunter5293 wow amazing. I can't remember how far i'd gotten in the game but i'm nowhere near ready to take on Yiazmat yet and i don't think i'd be able to actually do it XD still nice one
I love boss fight in game they amazing how short and long boss battle in game
While Absolute Virtue definitely the longest back in the day, the level cap did increase from 75 to item level 129 (with stats much higher than that.
For me, the three longest was the first time that I fought a Chosen One on X-Com 2, the Dark Lord on Doom Eternal and first time that I played against Kerrigan on Starcraft 2
Defeating The End with none -lethal attacks in MGS3 you'll get his rifle and cammo. 😁😁😁
Adamantoise is easy if you use the ring. Can be done in less than 15 minutes. Now Omega Weapon on the other hand - that one took me a good hour as I couldn’t get the hacks I saw on RUclips to work.
Maaaan I remember my first fight against the Adamantoise. I was 40mins into the fight and got it below 10% HP remaining, and then randomly while mid-air it hit me with its tail or claw and sent me flying like 2km away, I got the Hunt abandoned text and had to restart the fight with it at 100% health after taking 5mins to run back to it on foot.
I remember playing ToS on GameCube and taking around 40min to beat Abyssion. In the remake for Switch it took just under 10 somehow.
The corrupted rot god in Kena Bridge of Spirits.
I don’t understand what on earth were Ember Lab thinking, having a boss fight THAT long with no checkpoint.
Gundam MS Saga: A New Dawn for the PS2, the Optional boss of Omega and Ultima. The path to this pair of bosses is savage, with the hardest encounters in the game, and you have to clear a miniboss that is no slouch before ever even getting to this pair. And you have to be MOVE PERFECT through every sequence, or they will insta-kill each member of your party. Check out Gaming Emblem's runthrough.
No Ur-Dragon from Dragon's Dogma?
That was one omission I have to say was a no-brainer of a choice. A dragon that presides over death, and was where Xenoblade stole its nemesis boss idea from. That for sure should have made the list.
It is with great pride that I can say I have defeated the Adamantoise the item was soooo worth it, now Promto can stop dying so easily
WELL THAT WAS A LONG FIGHT!
I'd say the Elizabeth Green boss fight in Prototype is another long one. It took me a good 30 minutes at the very least.
Fun fact about adamantoise. If you have the original patch of FF15 you could use the ring of lucii to one shot the boss... i found this out after taking 5 hours to beat it normally.
Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen..the Online Ur-Dragon takes days to defeat because each person In their game have to attack him Online...from everyone in their own game..like that one in this video and how many people online are fighting it dictate how long to defeat him
Yiazmat is a great superboss.
Love your lists😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Bot
THAT WAS A LONG BOSS FIGHT!
11:38 The horror! The pain! The torment!
Z from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 should’ve at least been an honorable mention here, that fight was by far the longest boss fight I’ve done in the Xenoblade series, as well as the longest boss fight in general I’ve done in a long while. I’ve never played Xenoblade X, so I wouldn’t know how long those fights are
I lucked out with the end. I don't remember how, but i managed to tranq him a few times and pick him off in about 20 minutes.
I came back to Yiazmat 8 times, which helped reset the chance of reflectiga
Adamantoise took me between 3 ti 5 in-game days to beat and this was before the Ring of the Lucii became available
Oh yeah yiasmat, that was one tough Dragon 🙈 the reflekt tjing i too fall for once and healed him complete 😂 luckily i safed then and now so i coukd go back 😂
Anyone remember the Jinchuriki fight in Ultimate Ninja Storm 3? That shit took forever 💀
FFXII Yiazmat is my Nightmare back in my PS2 days.
Adamantoise took me almost 3 hours to kill. And that was after getting everyone's ultimate weapons, all royal arms and having the party over lvl 70.
Dang I never played any of these games, I thought The Zillo Beast on Lego Star Wars 3 was going to be on this. That is the only boss me and my two brothers fought for a really long time.
My hardest battle was the Ultima Weapon in FF8. Nearly depleted all my resources and spells just to beat it.
Adamantoise had to fight him a few hours inhad to buy lots of stuff just to keep everyone alive and i had to just keep teleporting and running away just to survive most of the time it was a great victory but also exhausting one
Extreme Behemoth in Monster Hunter World is like an average 30 minute fight and minimum 15-20 minutes
That buff senator fight from metal gear rising was long af
😳....14 phases?.....🤯
Personally I feel like Xemmas from KH2 should’ve at least been mentioned. There are around 4 phases to the boss fight and each of them have Xemnas with multiple bars of HP. If you die at any point of the 4 phases of Xemnas, you are forced to start back to the beginning. It’s especially difficult in critical mode since any attack is practically a 1 hit KO.
KH1’s final boss took way longer than Xemnas
Some of these fights are unreasonable. Not everyone is superhuman.
That Nyx fight... gives me trauma again just by seeing it.
I played tis platforming game called BK3 and the final 2 boss fights make me want to rage to a level that would make the hulk jealous. You can level yourself up really as much as you want beforehand, but as you do the amount of xp you need to level up increases so eventually it becomes impractical until you beat the game and up the difficulty. But the first boss battle involves 10 launchers that fly and release monsters whenever they land. Not only that, but many of the monsters they release deal stupid high damage or insta kill you if you kill them when they’re too close. Then you have the final boss itself which can teleport, has a bunch of super damaging attacks, and can heal itself though luckily this only happened to me once. The last boss has, no joke, 5 bosses. Though one just goes around healing the others. Almost all of them can teleport, a few can fly. There are platforms you can hang out on, but even there you’re not always safe if a boss flies up and insta:kills you. Your only hope is to get a couple really good weapons or tactical items like energy balls and a boss layout that doesn’t kill you two seconds after you start. Oh and enemies can damage each other which is insanely helpful. Oh and after a certain point your game locks so you can’t go back and get more things. That’s almost cost me more than once, but I’ve learned my lesson.
With millions of health bars I’m curious on the actual health amount of yggralith zero
After 2 hours of using Prompto’s unlimited SMG and Rockets I said fuck it and used the Noctis’ ring. Took a few tries, but it worked. Mad props to anyone who actually beat Adamantoise the long way.
1:31 Gerginga didn't have evil intentions. Spoilers:
.
.
.
He traveled from the future to prevent the Wonderful 101 from becoming the major evil of the universe
I really hope that Red heard the brain’s cries for help, cause yeah there is basically no man more stubborn in that universe than Will/Wonder-Red himself but the way he reacted to the half point of the fight inside Jergingha’s body, I REALLY hope for GEATHJERK’s sake Red took that to heart and teaches his kids and Luka to steer clear off the Greater Galactic Coalition’s goals while defending what humanity already stands for to begin with
6:30 fortunately MGS3 also gives you an opportunity to snipe the End while he is defenseless during an earlier part of the game.
And gives an achievent/trophy on the HD release.
And then he explodes and a wheel from his wheelchair nails Snake in the head
Morgan Freeman in South Park.... pretty much gotta do the rage move. Draw his attacks. Do the rage move with a different character. Repeat. So 2 guys can attack each turn....takes like an hour
The original Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation 1 had two of my favorite boss fights ever
The Brain, from EDF 2025. Especially playing on solo. There's so much going on, and you have to go out of your way to eliminate any defenses it brings because you'll get overwhelmed fast. If you die once, it's aaaaaaaaaaaall the way back to the beginning, snd and this game is not forgiving
No boss fight if fought properly should be over 20 mins. Excluding online games or super bosses (maybe).
Honestly didn’t expect abyssion
Hmm. Personally, Lambda from Tales of Graces took me a while to bring it down. I can't say much about the other final boss that's in the Extra as I could never beat her.
When u complete FFXV first and do new game+. And right before you finish it for the 2nd time then go battle Adamantoise. I did That. Had all weapons and almost and all most max out on the all characters. Then it takes like 20 min to beat it. If I remember right. Its been like 4 or 5 years since.
it took me 9 hours to beat Yiazmat... I really don't want to remember the time I played it... Tough, exhausting and certainly not rewarding.
Definitely should have had the last boss in Heavenly Sword on this list
Funny enough, adamantoise took me double less time to beat than Omega in FF15.
How is Jergingha the first entry?! I mean in that same vein off thought shouldn’t it have been Xemnas or any other Xehanort for that matter when they go through multiple phases? Like this dude went to 3 phases that I absolutely loved but it’s still basically the same guy just as much as Xemnas fought us in armor, then turned dragon than crashed down and turned into a grounded mech dragon where you still fight armored him and then finally the black/white coated man with the absolute insane QTE I’ve yet to meet that matched or even surpassed The Wonderful 101’s final anime canon blast
Like our undead dragon friend from dragons dogma bosses like these take a state sized community to annihilate them at all lol!
