god bless your little child, i had a granddaughter with leukemia also, she did very well with the treatments, and so will your child. thanks for the video
Absolutely enjoyed your very instrumental video.. I want you to know I’ve been looking for a project of this nature and I think I just found it!!!! Right up until you introduced that beautiful little girl.. just so you know I’m a big baby when it comes to the sight of sick children like leukemia...I hope and pray medicine can help her!!! T C from Nevada
Nice and easy. Sorry to hear about your little girl. My son passed away in Oct. of 2016 from 2 different types of brain cancer. I know she’ll pull through it. Just like you said about your little girl, my son was and still is my hero.
Great videos I know nothing about wood working after seeing this I think I can get r done . Tell the little warrior my family says HI. My adult son just finished his Kemo a few moths ago it truly makes them hero’s in my book
I just made a version of this with a sliding front ( stopped slots cut in the sides of the top and inside of the box sides, 1/4" oak rail glued in to the front, and everything waxed). I used your nail trick for a lock, and drilled a hole in the top of one of the sides to hold it when not in use, as well as countersinking a screw into the back of the top to store a magnet.
Thanks Po Po for mother great video! You explained it right down to punching out the spots for the hooks. God Bless you and family, especially your little girl. What a cutie pie she is!! My prayers are with you Po Po.
Great idea & solid build. If you give the line a coat of shellac between sanding & stain, it will prevent the stain from blotching, gives an even coat. Then quick coat of polyurethane varnish to seal it from fingermarks.
Nice vid...might have to try to make one of these. Wonder if a person could use these same techniques to make a full size wooden flag with hidden compartment.? HHmm make me think now. See the Hargrave Academy shirt...i am about 2.5 hours north of it. Hope all is well.
The only thing I'd change is add a magnet lock to the side of it so it can be locked without the messy key holes... I've had success with various ones but the child proof magnet lock are the cheapest ones I've found that aren't super bulky
Hi Popo, I was making the smaller gun conceal box but when I went to put the hinges on , I went to close it and it wouldn’t close , like it was butted up too close when I put the hinges on. In your video it looks like the top and back panel sat a little away from the box when you put the hinges on. You never said that it should be a bit separates from the box. My side panels were the same exact size as the bottom panel. I guess I need to put the hinges on while the top sits a bit away from the back panel??? But I love your videos
Susan Guin I believe I did end up putting a small gap to accommodate the hinges so they would work correctly. It really depends on the hinges and how they are made
Polo's love video I am fan just wanted you to know me and my wife know what you and your family are going through my baby girl battled leukemia for 3 years and she was are may I say is so much stronger than me our Lord and savior has blessed you with a beautiful craft and family our prayers are with you and your family and thank you for sharing that craft you are one of the very few that not only do you show how to make beautiful things but you also tell right down to the measurements we need to cut so again thank you and I will tell you this when people see it and say how much they love my work I give all the credit to you and your Channel.
I purchased the round earth magnets which you can screw into wood. It has the hole in the center of the magnet. I screwed the magnet into the back of the box then place the glock against it.....It is strong enough to hold a glock 22 40cal
Love this project. I built one but my problem is I can’t get the hinges to work right. Wen I close the lid the box front doesn’t close flush with the back and sides. It (front lid) moves forward . Getting frustrated. Any tips? Thank you. And my prayers for your beautiful little girl! God bless her!!!
I have a friend that was just diagnosed and fixing to start his fight. He also is a cop, I plan on making this for his benefit to be auctioned off. I think I'll take the lid and engrave a badge on the front of it.
Did you have any problems with your hinges not closing correctly. One side sits higher than the other and I am at a loss of what to do. I can add trim and it won't be noticed but that's not what I really want to do.
Since I'm a noob and doing this on my own to surprise my husband.....can someone explain how to do the part where he makes the front piece fit into the ledge inside? Like how to make the notch in front so it sits against the ledge. If that makes sense . At about 4:30. Does he cut the ledge smaller, or does he cut out of the square front? Thank you!!
Hope your precious daughter is doing well now. Do you finish with polyurethane on all your projects. Also, I had a rough time with these ‘easy’ install hinges. Mine came with no directions. So plenty of trial and error.🙄
Hey buddy. Where did you get those hinges? I know you said Amazon but I tried looking for the same ones but couldn’t find them. Can you send the link please? Thanks Nice box. I’m trying one too. I’ll let you know how it comes out 👍🏽

Rick Williamson Thanks!! I found a stud in the wall and screwed it from the inside of the box into the wall which makes it super solid and no chance of it falling off.
Popo , I also know what hard times is. I have a wood shop also but I have been paralyzed for the past 22 years can still use my arms. The bad thing is my shop has been sitting idle for 6 years because of some issues that I am going through due to being paralyzed. so when I see little kids that is fighting for life and still has a smile, it just make it so easy to battle my problem. So good wishes and I will remember that 3 year old little warrior.
I have a quick question. Love the work love the video love the information. However I’m not understanding the concealment part. I have understood concealment boxes to be concealed to where you can’t really imagine or see or even perceive that there’s a containment area within. I don’t feel that you could call this design a true concealment box if visually you can depict or conceive of a compartment within. Now that’s just my opinion. I hope you don’t take this as negative, and will add a reply. I am new to all of this hidden boxes and stuff and I even installed a small metal security box inside my wall inside my closet. Which I would say that’s concealed because you can’t even see it-it’s it’s hidden by hanging clothes and it’s on the outer wall but inside the closet so you would hardly look backwards once viewing inside closet. Plus it’s a keyed locking mechanism with a key hidden in a different closet.I would say that my set up could truly be called a concealment box. Also I’m not a fan of the dark stain on knotty pine. The dark and light stain only some people like. I would consider some alternative finishes. But great presentation and info on parts and such.
It may probably help to take that top piece that you routed and do all sides so it blends in as being intentional for aesthetics and not for operational purposes. That way it keeps the stealth. Then just throw the entire top through a planer to remove the undesired marks.
Stay strong Dad, God will walk beside you on your trail. She (your daughter) will be stronger than you think.
Amazing wood working.

Travis Bynog Thank you!! I really appreciate that!
do you have plans available for this?
Do you ever use pre-stain before you stain the wood to get a more uniform look? Thanks.
Mike Ledee I do sometimes, I mainly use Pre-stain on bigger projects like tables and so on.
first i would like to say stay strong for your baby girl. shes doing great. Also what would you use to put a weapon in there or how would you do it?
To put a weapon in there, you would use your hand and a weapon. Open the box and put the weapon in.
I purchased the round earth magnets which you can screw into wood. It has the hole in the center of the magnet. I screwed the magnet into the back of the box then place the glock against it.....It is strong enough to hold a glock 22 40cal

What size hinge did you use i used 4" hinge the lid wont close is that too big
what size hinges did you end up using? same problem here, 4 inches is too big for mine as well.
God bless you and your family, hope the little girl is kicking leukemia's butt...... Hard!!!
Momo Hunkerton She’s doing very well!! Thank you!!
I think I’m gonna make one of these this weekend. How did you attach it to the wall?
I found a stud in the wall and screwed through the back of the box into the stud.
Do u sell them online too sir? I badly need one of this☺
