clean your throttle body like in the video, change your spark plugs and clean your mass airflow sensor with a mass airflow sensor spray and you should have a smoother drive .
Another tip is to remove the negative terminal on your battery in some cars so the check engine light doesnt turn on, AND PLEASE PEOPLE if your car uses an electronic drive by wire DO NOT TOUCH YOUR THROTTLE PLATE AND MANUALLY MOVE IT TO CLEAN!!! put in the ignition keys to the on position and have someone depress the accelerator pedal whilst you clean..
Did this to my camry too, I found that it's best if you unbolt the throttle body from the plenum and clean around the back side of the butterfly valve too.

I have a 2002 Toyota Avalon, same engine at the Camry, 3.0 litre V6, although it would of been good to hear if you ever hearing any noises before cleaning the throttle body. I currently have a cracking kind of sound on de-acceleration as soon as I take my foot of the accelerator and at low rev ( 1 - 2). Could this fix the problem? Been hearing this sound for about 20,000 thousand ks by now. I actually thought it would be the power steering but I did a full flush and didn't fix the problem. Car has about 200,004 ks. any suggestions what it could be?

Before trying this please be sure to check to see if any hoses have come of or are cracked. My MAP hose dropped of on my 2.2 Litre 2001 Camry after rough road travelling and idle and acceleration suddenly became erratic. Replacing the hose (after diagnosis by RACT mechanic) fixed it.
So when I have to do a cold start and I let my car idle, it’ll make my car shake here n there while warming? Could that be a upper passenger side motor mount?

I have a similar issue with my camry. It starts up rough and when sitting at idle with the air conditioning on, the rpms will sit around 600 and just shake the car. Great video will be doing this fix soon and hopefully will sort out the problem.

Definitely install a catch can! I have a 95 Corolla that loves to inhale oil haha and after I put the catch can on the exhaust smelled totally different too. It burns so much less oil now. I usually empty it every 2-3 oil changes and a bunch of nasty stuff comes out. Definitely worth it!! You can keep it cheap if you get an Ebay catch can and stuff it with steel wool. Stuff a lot in there. Then clean it out with compressed air or a vacuum cleaner. Then install it and watch the magic happen over a set period of time :)
Dude you should do an instrument cluster swap from a Lexus ES300. It’s not directly plug and play bcoz of connectors, bolt ins are the same, but it’s so worth it!!!

I'll try to drive the car around and give an update in a little bit. so 2 days after using the car, it struggles to turn on only in the cold mornings (RPM is below 1 when idling). In the afternoon, it seems fine when I turn it on
Looking for a fix on my 98 Camry 4 cyl with 138k. The idle goes up and down aroun 2000rpm when I'm driving it ever so lightly accelerating. It also does it on the freeway. Sometimes I get a jolt or two every now and then going freeway speeds. Mechanic can't figure this one out. Cleaned the throttle body and full tune up. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
My 96 Camry I got didn’t start when I first got it I replaced the fuel pump now I can get it to start but it runs eh when the vacuum lines are hooked up right when there hooked up wrong it runs better but then will kill when pressing on the gas

Take the throttle body out and clean idle air control valve . Fixed my high idle , this week just gone. Don’t forget you will normally have high idle on cold start until car warms up to temp.
Do u know what it means if my 99 Camry 2.2L has a rough idle when I put it in drive or reverse but in park it isn't so bad when I drove it a little it had a small knocking sound also I feel a loss of power with the rough idle.... Do u know what it could be it hasn't stalled out or a low RPM
Also bro I've done this job many times before (cleaning the throttle body) I suggest you get a tooth brush and really really clean the inside as much as u can, the throttle plate gets heavy and behind it is all gunk that you didnt seem to clean off.. @@The1Music2MyEars yes you can pass the valve it won't do any harm the cleaner doesn't damage anything , clean as much dirt and oil as you can. Your car will have a hard time to start the first time after this cleaning so give it some gas with the pedal while you turn the key
My 99 camry has trouble idling . Then the battery light pops on and once i turn it off it dies, i bought a new battery and alterntor when accerlating its rough and it shakes really bad . Also when slowing down same result .

Hi if you have a camry SE 2020 engine light on rpm keeps going up and down please purge the valve . Most people think it is a dirty throttle body .Noo It is not.don't waste your time and money .
The most common reason this happens by the way it's because many air filters are coated in oit's coated in oil and over time that oil gets sucked into the intake

I might add that my 2001 Camry with 115k miles: **tightened steel throttle cable tension** just a bit. 1cm adjustment was a huge improvement.

Would recommend getting some injector cleaner as well. I've always found that it helps with smoother idles

Maybe can do a video on EGR valve cleaning . Other video ideas like thermostat / transmission fluid /power steering flush / Brake fluid flush

Nevermind I drive her around a bit and it sorted itself out 😂 still got a rough idle though so I think I need a good old fashioned tune up 👍🏼

I had the same problem but the part was bad was the Idle Air Control Valve IAC!! Replace it whit a oem toyota part!! Problem fix

Do you stick the tooth-brush past the opening/closing valve? Is it bad of the cleaner gets past that entry point?

I agree. I've done mine about 3 or so times until I said screw it and cleaned it as much as possible behind the plate. Definitely helped.

I have to many issues to list here. In time it will be fixed. But my Camry still runs. Not at it's best but it runs.
The freeway is the scariest becasue it cant build the speed quick enough and it acts up when the a/c is on.
