Dude, 4 auto shops, every Toyota forum I could find, and YOUR VIDEO had ALL the answers... Id like to hug you, as i thought my tundra had bit the dirt... You, sir, deserve a medal of honor
[[[[ YT videos like this support the reason I'll never ever take my car to the Stealership, Quick Lube, or mechanic EVER again. They're all thieves. ]]]] - After a throttle body & MAF sensor cleaning (and new battery), the idle was sitting at 1400. Did every step exactly as demonstrated and it's now at 900, close enough to 800 where it belongs, but I'll take it! Thanks good guy for putting this out!!!
First time I’ve ever heard of this, I had few incidents after disconnecting the battery on Camry . Thank you for the tip . It’s definitely something I will be using in the future .
2002 sienna: i endured rough idle, till i cleaned the throttle body. ran better, but still rough idle. using this procedure set the idle almost instantly. i waited the 7 minutes, cycling the air conditioning also. much better. thank you.
After I removed the negative side of the battery, the car start to shaking while switching on, folowing this steps It solved the problem. Thank you so much 🙏
After i replaced the idle control valve and cleaned the trottle body, my car had a high idle, and it would turn off by itself. And if i tuen on the Ac, the whole car would vibrate, then turn off. Thanks, this worked for a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander..
Great video. And "THANK YOU SO MUCH!" I have a 2012 Yaris. "AND THIS IS NOT MY 1ST NEW BATTERY!" Never had to do a reset before. Didn't even know about it. Old battery out, new battery in. No problems ever. Someone in the auto part store said: "check RUclips". I did, and I'm on the way home now.😊😊😊 Once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! I replaced the battery in my Corolla a couple years ago and since then it had a surging idle. Replaced every gasket, cleaned every sensor, cleaned throttle body and nothing helped. After this procedure I have a stable idle!! Thank you
Thanks so much, worked. Saved video. Happens every time I remove my battery for any reason on my 2012 Toyota Tacoma. Happened first time after I replaced spark plugs and I swore I somehow destroyed my car being a novice DIYer but now I know it’s just the ide computer settings being reset to new car settings with a clean throttle body. Y’all can also clean throttle body to fix this so settings are like if your car was new.
Hell yea this helped me so much didn’t believe it until I hit that 5 minute mark and she just re adjusted as soon as I put her in park she would always jump around with the ac on now she isn’t budging , thank you so much
This fixed my problem after I installed a new battery..it takes the worry away from my car turning off at every red light..and I don't have to keep my ac on either..thank you
Thank you so much :) this is very helpful Somehow the power cable (red +) on my my battery was so loose that it came off I only noticed it when I went to jump start it. My Corolla started after I secured the cable but it was idling very rough. I basically did a whole tune up and at was still shaky. I finally tried this reset and it works! I probably saved a great deal of money
Omg thank you. Thought i completely fucked something up. I was getting no acceleration and misfire codes. Did this and cleared the codes. Car runs fine now
So I've got a 2014 with a 4.7 in it, had to replace my battery and after I replaced my battery my truck will not idle higher than 300 RPM... And it dies when I'm driving it... I tried these steps but they don't seem to have done anything
hello thank you for making this video on this relearning the computer. Is engaging the parking brake for safety because the car is idling or is it part of the procedure of the steps?
I hads my starter replaced AND the vehicle had a very low rough idle, the mechanic was confused, When I told him the comptuter needs to re program. I'll never go there, as per your video it works fine.
once the car starts your suppose to let engine run 10-15 mins tops so ecu can set the ignition coils, fuel injectors, throttle body and air flow ratio into and out of the engine after doing a tune up on my friend toyota avalon once the car started the vehicle sounded horrible after letting the engine run for 10-12mins the engine regain it strength.
I just replaced my original battery in my 2015 Camry today. All i did was cycle the key on twice and started it up. Ice cold engine. No rough idle. No problems whatsoever.
I have a Toyota Auris 2010, manual gear box, so putting the car in drive mode with foot on brake means putting in gear One with clutch down and foot on the brake?
Does it work also when idle is high? I just cleaned the IAC and MAF sensor, replaced air filter and cleaned the air filter's box and duct. Idle was close to 1,400 rpm now dropped to 1000 but i think it should be lower.
I had a question...if you have a manual transmission.....but just on neutral just right now the idle is starting to go up after I changed the battery...it's holding at 850...will let it run a while and see if it stays
so i recently disconnected my mom's battery on her 2013 toyota corolla after that change, we have noticed that her rpm chugs down then goes back up again, I was thinking that it might be the throttle body have the issue but I will check this out later and see if it works.
Hi so it has been months that we experienced this, unfortunately i changed the Air filter on the Engine and the misfires, sudden surge on low rpms went Away. It was because of a dirty air filter.
I have had this video saved for a few years and today is the fourth time I've used it for my '07 Yaris. Thank you!

Somehow the power cable (red +) on my my battery was so loose that it came off
I only noticed it when I went to jump start it. My Corolla started after I secured the cable but it was idling very rough.
I basically did a whole tune up and at was still shaky.

I have a Toyota Auris 2010, manual gear box, so putting the car in drive mode with foot on brake means putting in gear One with clutch down and foot on the brake?
Thank you so much for this video will it work for one with push button?
How about on a manual transmission?
Neutral
Looking for a vid for shift mustang. I didn't find it.
But some comments said, same thing pressing the clutch and s1.
Hi video is awesome...how does it works for a manual transmission
Thanks dude. Worked perfectly on push start toyota as well
That’s awesome, glad to hear.
the tutorial helped me a lot thank you
Lifesaver, thanks pal
That really like really helped man thank you so much I appreciate it 🗣️
Thx Andy, it worked right away.
Can leaving your brake light on that long cause the bulbs to overheat.
Does it work also when idle is high? I just cleaned the IAC and MAF sensor, replaced air filter and cleaned the air filter's box and duct. Idle was close to 1,400 rpm now dropped to 1000 but i think it should be lower.
got the same issue. Did you find a solution?
Look for air leak , if not surging not sure
Thank you great information
Thank you for this video.
Ty much someone in truck group said neutral, def going parking brake and drive since that's the idle out of wack
I like that steering wheel what kind of Toyota is that?
What about for manual transmission models? Obviously you can't put it into 'park' so what do you do instead?
Wow! Works like a charm.
Thanks. This was very helpful.
I had a question...if you have a manual transmission.....but just on neutral just right now the idle is starting to go up after I changed the battery...it's holding at 850...will let it run a while and see if it stays
If you use a an ECM memory saver do you still need to do this. I know cars run like crap when ECM is trying to relearn.
Tanks to you help my allot too fix my problem
It worked for me. Thanks!
what about the procedure for manual transmittion toyota corolla 2010 model?
Omgosh, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH ! ! !
so i recently disconnected my mom's battery on her 2013 toyota corolla after that change, we have noticed that her rpm chugs down then goes back up again, I was thinking that it might be the throttle body have the issue but I will check this out later and see if it works.
So, did it work?
Hi so it has been months that we experienced this, unfortunately i changed the Air filter on the Engine and the misfires, sudden surge on low rpms went
Away. It was because of a dirty air filter.
Does this work for the keyless also?
Will give it a go! Thanks
