Love my PRS SE CE 24 Cherry Red Satin. It's extremely resonant ! Got mine back in February 2024 from Sweetwater and immediately after placing my order, they were and have STILL been awaiting more ! Finally PRS made it possible for the many to be able to own a PRS ! It sounds great, plays great and it's well made...and only 7.02 lbs !!! 🥰 Love the 85/15 PUs...and it's also strung with 9's (my currently favorites). The tremolo comes floating... Recently learned that PRS strings are made my D'Addario which D'Addario and Elixir's are my favorite anyway. All n' all I don't think there's a better made guitar at this price point.
I am purchasing a guitar for myself as a birthday present to myself. This one has edged it's way to the top of a short list.😊

Good to hear they haven't skimped on the quality. As for the trem, it seems par for the course for a sub 500 quid instruments. Got to say I'm impressed most by that split middle pickup sound and those Strat style tones. For gigging and playing a variety of covers, it's nice to have an instrument that can do it all, or at least let you get away with it for the most part without having to change. Thanks for the showing this off!
This is a keeper John. Brilliant guitar for the money I think.
You'll get used to the colour I think as you bond with it - I think it's nice actually.
You're playing on the demo track was class too.
Saw this when it was released and genuinely thought, if I was in the market for a new electric, I'd be looking to get one (in the cherry colour mind 😊)
Hi John, As usual a very informative review with some excellent playing! I recently made a new guitar purchase, the Cort 250g se. It's a trully excellent hss S type for a crazy low price! If you get the chance it would be fantastic to have a decent review (there doesn't appear to be any at the moment!) When you check out the specs you'll wonder how Cort can make profit! Roasted neck, alnico 5 singles, alnico 2 bridge, coil tap etc. I've been buying (and selling) guitars for 40 years plus and this one is definitely a keeper! Cheers, Stephen from Scotland

Good to have a mention of Texas Flood! My favourite band of the moment for that sort of music.
The birds I can live with. The "tree of life" that Ibanez had really got on my nerves. I needed a neck for a project a while ago and one of those became available. I couldn't bring myself to buy it.

I do really like the PRS SE guitars (my preference leans more toward the Wide/Thin neck profile, but I totally understand where you are in terms of "feel" in your circumstances)

Nice one! If you need a wider fingerboard, try out one of the Gibson 2015 models if you get the chance.
Just got the charcoal one, the feel is amazing.
And because the rest of the guitar looks very minimal (this is why i went for charcoal), the birds really finish the look.
I've got the charcoal one too. I really like the feel of the guitar and it's very resonant, but I'm not too huge on these pickups. It's making me think I should return the guitar, but it's so comfortable, light and nice to the touch that I'm also thinking of keeping it. It's a good guitar, but I'll probably need to switch the pickups to something else if I keep it. It does seem to go out of tune quite a bit, though.
@@Olegstuff21986 Ye i think the pickups are very pronounced in their sound, they work for me. But sometime in the future (if i feel like i have to) i will switch them out. first upgrade for me will definitely be locking tuners. but that is the great thing about this guitar. the basics are great, and still leave room for upgrades compared to prices of similar quality guitars :D
I think it sounds the business! The single coil stuff does sound good . Thing is the PRS CE SE 24 that was released recently -maple cap on a mahogany top and £200 more -has caved in price probably because of impact of reviews of this guitar . So then you’re faced with choosing between those two finishes -same pickups and trem so that’s fine . Remember years ago Gibson brought out a budget range of SGs in worn brown etc , was never a fan of them -unfinished business!! 🎸

I had a PRS SE Custom 24 at one point in time. These days, a SE Santana model scratches the PRS 24-fret itch.
You may be able to cover up the pigeons with stick on fret markers?
They don't bother me enough to do that. I prefer them not to be there but I can live with them.
Having owned and sold two PRS Se's i just couldn't bond with them.
One refused to stay intune and the other had a neck like a Fender Strat
ie a baseball bat !
Having owned previous guitars with a satin finish, i don't want anymore, they go shiney
after a while and look terrible.
The 85/15S pups sound good here and your teal SE CE looks good, even with flying rats. Confusingly, PRS "Wide thin" neck is a noticeably fatter than Gibson '60s thin. Just got the Katana GO Headphone Amp, with typical Katana amps and Boss pedal FX like the combo amps have. With it's "Stage Feel" setting (taken from the WAZA headphones), it's got an interesting realism to it. I think I'll skip the Boss IR-2 Amp/Cab pedal now, but I'll still be looking at the POD Express. (Neither are in stock anywhere in Canada.)
I'm not too huge on these 85/15s myself, I guess I'm used to a more "vintage" kind of sound.
@@Olegstuff21986 Agreed, they're definitely not "vintage". I'm getting used to the 85/15S on my SE SAS, they take gain/OD really well, not as great clean, but the core versions are better for that. Happily I have an LP Special with P90s for those "vintage" tones, clean or distorted..
Heads have been known to crack in transit with the strings not slack, is that possible? I don’t know or care, but I always request strings are are loosened as it happened to me once, so I er on the side of caution, and to date, no damages😮

This piece of gear is a little less than 800 Trudeau dollars taxes included of course.. still well worth it... it's light it's capable of handling a Pete Townshend melt down...maybe 🤔...I've given mine ( vintage cherry ) a good dust up through mY fender blues jr special edition with the cannibis rex patriot speaker..which is amazing btw..she loves reverb..delay..tremolo..and her cry baby wah..and stays in tune with the whammy bar just about..I like it a lot...now I'm curious about the American made ones...when will I get one..just another fatocaser with GAS..😅

If you like PRS necks, definitely. If you prefer something more modern fender, prolly look elsewhere.
I bought several PRS guitars, and haven’t kept any of them. Much prefer my Gretsches and Fenders.
A good guitarist will make any guitar sound good.
Had an eye on one myself a while back and I'm sorry I didn't go for it.
Not a fan of the bird inlays either.

It’s like most prs guitars in the se range, good average workhorses but nothing to love or write home about. If you want tasty keepers prepare to splash some cash. There’s millions of average guitars for sale.Sooner or later the (second hand and new)market will drop through the floor. It’s not far off.
