IMPORTANT: The procoptodon is no longer immobilized by bolas or bear traps. They are also not able to be picked up by ANY flier. The only effective way to tame them is using rare flowers and luring them into a trap
@@hankwilliams1192 you can still pick them and bola them on the mobile and switch editions, but wildcard removed the ability to pick them due to a meshing method that they were unable to fix normally. The same is true for megalosaurs.

I tamed mine after it jumped into my trap while being chased by raptors. Luckily my trap has solid walls around the base so the raptors couldn't jump through a doorway or a window.
A bola and and Equus is enough to knock out a 150 Procoptodon before the bola wears off. You can even pace it every second to make sure you don't kick it as it passes out. I just tamed a 145 in the Ragnarok desert, I want to experiment with imprinting and leveling stats to see how good of a battle mount I can make with them. I am playing no flyers so ground is really valuable for this self challenge where I kind of just stop using ground dinos once I get Argys, Owls, and Wyverns
iirc, the best dino for gathering rare mushrooms is the iguanadon. of course, the iguanadon is also a level 30 mount, which pushes the level higher. also, iguanadons aren't really valuable for anything else (on this map at least), and as phlinger showed, you can use other dinosaurs just fine making it not necessary at all... but theoretically, if you have need for tons of mushrooms,

What is the size limit for babies being nannied by Procoptodon? Tried just now with baby dire wolf and couldn't get it picked up into the pouch. Correction: It was because I was trying on a baby that had already grown too large. Just tried again and it worked, but only stayed in the pouch until it was about 50% growth.
I was able to tame one, shot it with a tranq arrow, let it run itself into a wall, knocked it out, built the trap around it, went to get rare mushrooms, and when it woke up I knocked it out again, and got it tamed up. A Pteranodon is able to keep up with it.

Evidently my mammoth is broken. It gathers about 5x more thatch than it does wood. It doesn’t get hardly any wood at all. According to Dododex it’s supposed to be good with wood, but it isn’t at all

They’re a rare spawn, like otters. Try killing a lot by the redwoods and black sands area and hopefully one will spawn! I’ve only ever seen one in all my 400+ hours in ark.

Nope, you can just have one baby in the socket, imprint it, get it out, grab the other one and imprint it when it's ready. They just need to be in the sack while imprinting is being done
Bolas havnt worked on them when ive tried but I managed to tranq 2 out with a crossbow just chasing them down on a horse Granted its easier not to lose sight of them with awesome spy glass mod
One died right in front of me I wasn't quick enough to defend it because some Allos killed it and then they killed me because they broke all of my armour
Hey is someone able to explain to me how the imprint bonus works. I’ve got baby megatheriums that grow too big in the juvenile stage to be in the pouch I have a male and female but will I still get the imprint bonusv
It might be to late, but there is a size limit to it, I think the biggest one I tested was dire bear, not sure 100% but anything bigger than it will not be able to be picked by kangaroo 🦘

I fence off a swamp area and put a Moschops in there leveled in mushrooms.

For the mushrooms: a beever Farm works too. It will also generate Wood, flowers, cementing paste and silicia pearls.

I miss the days of using a Bola on them... Now I use a wyvern or other large dino to pin them against a rock wall or something.

So as of the new update how would you tame them. They can no longer be bolad, or picked up even a wyvern
I ate rare flowers and pulled them with the flower aggro to a tameing pen. Once in a pen you tranq as normal.
I believe you can lure them into a taming trap with honey or by eating a rare flower.
