Tip for S+ users, Weigh down your raptor with fabricated things like walls and pipes instead of stone. That way you wont accidentally pull out the stone when building something.
My husband and I built our kibble farm on Herbivore Island, right where all the metal nodes are (we used to have a metal farm there, but the metal nodes quit respawning, so we decided to repurpose that area). We play on a non-dedicated server, so I had to afk around the base waiting for eggs, which was boring. I discovered that constantly going in and out of render range of kibble dinos dramatically increases the amount of eggs you get (except for the dodos). I fly around the little island grabbing eggs dropped by the wild dinos, flying straight up every time I grab one until the angry parents are out of render range. Once I make several circuits doing that, I go check on the tames, and I’ve got tons of eggs. Then, for some reason, we built our main base near the blue obelisk...
Near the blue obelisk is my favorite base area. Right at the outer part of the long ice cliff. The view is spectacular. And nothing really comes over to bother my tames
We didn’t build too close to them. They were respawning, then they suddenly stopped. We didn’t build anything new. We built the kibble farm after they stopped respawning.
The snow biome is the best place to build imo my base is by blue ob too. No one bothers me there, looks amazing just sitting cliffside watching the view with snugglemuffin (my thyla).watching people rage in chat over getting killed. Also ovis spawn rate there is crazy
Didn't know they could eat meat after being tamed. I've been dropping my dilo and dodo eggs onto my oviraptors instead haha Thanks for the info phlinger! Very helpful as always x
Quick question: can ovirapter pick up fertilized eggs so you have an automatic breeding farm? Cause my ovirapter is not picking up the they drop (it is wandering)
That invisible timer you bring up in the beginning of your video is their defecation time. An egg in ark is nothing more than an RNG of either feces or an egg. Having a mate boosted pair brings the rng up to 10% from 5%. Having an oviraptor, on top of a mate boosted pair, brings the egg drop percent to 25%. Having a mate boosted pair oviraptor does not increase this chance higher than 25%.
i follow this serie since day one. very instructive episode but not a must. i don't have ovirator, i have so much eggs and kibbles i don't even know what to do with.
It isn't a must, but you can get the amount of eggs you want in a shorter amount of time and if your egg percentage goes up you can accomplish the same goal with way less dinosaurs. Also let's say I want a bunch of spoiled meat. I can leave a few stacks in regular storage bin or a preserving bin without spark powder and my meat will spoil and will start making that 100 stack it is going to happen. But lets say I want that spoiled meat sooner I just break it into single quantities in my inventory and I will accomplish that goal sooner. It is just about being the most efficient you can be. Right now I started a single Aberration play-through and I am just collecting all my eggs while I am trying to accomplish my other goals. Like OK I am doing a metal run let me check on what eggs were layed and throw them on my Diplodocus who I am using as my giant refrigerator since I haven't unlocked an actual fridge yet and don't feel like putting eggs in a preserving bin. 31 days spoil per egg in stacks is more than enough time for single player and probably by the time I get into serious kibble making I will have quite a few eggs by then.
@@skezeksskybreaker5425 yes it isnt a must but sometimes you dont have dinos or you dont bother taming things like stegos for kibble for a perfect tame argy in sitting here with 2 female and 1 male stegos waiting for an egg so i can make kibble i have everything else like the prime meat jerky

well according to the dododex for a 150 oviraptor its 2 giga eggs for 10:01 and 4 quetzal eggs for 13:21 and any oviraptor lvl 29 and under quetzal is best the least amount of time it takes for them to eat a giga egg is 5:01 quetzal goes lower
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me. FYI: Kairuku have the same egg-laying mechanics as dodos (chance for egg every poop), so there are actually two exceptions to the internal timer rule.

I’ve looked into this rumor, and it appears to be a myth. Oviraptors don’t increase the chances of twins or triplets.
I keep it around when hatching cause I hatched triplet level 185 fire wyverns with one nearby on the 2nd egg
I always tame oviraptors with dodo or dilo eggs lol

I wonder whats the operational range for oviraptors...
By the time you’re actually making Giga or Quetzal eggs you’d better already have a kibble farm or else you’re way behind.
Giga Eggs are the best egg for taming Oviraptors

does this increase the rate of fertilized eggs as well?
