Welcome to iTripReport's flight reviews, which I focus on reviewing both the soft product and hard product of airlines around the globe. I strive to give you guys a first person perspective of different aspects of the flight. Including the ground service, onboard service, and those views that come with the flight. As you can see, I record quite a lot of the experience to make sure I record what you want to watch. As always, thank you so much for watching.

I confess that watching this video, it made my heart ache! I can imagine how many hundreds of thousands of people have had the privilege of flying this very beautiful and special plane. It's amazing how we get attached, and it's an inexplicable love. And yes, tears flowed because you can't control it. Thanks for this video! It is not just a video, it is an important record of an aircraft with countless beautiful stories. Thanks for sharing.

The entire DC-9 family was (and is) a joy to see. To me, they are a thing of beauty because of the thin, pencil-like fuselage. The wings, too, are thin and unencumbered by bulky engines. The T-tail is gracefully swept. To watch any of their family member rocket off the runway is thrilling; I still smile when I see the seemingly vertical take off toward the sky. It is almost like they are showing off or bragging to other planes that are incapable of the same feat, such as the early A-340s. The placement of the engines on the rear fuselage allowed for the entire aircraft to be low to the ground, thus facilitating easy passenger loading and unloading at the smaller air fields. I’ve always loved the DC-9 family for their aesthetic beauty. Thanks for taking me along on this historic journey.

Farewell long beach sewerpipe! I worked on the md80 series and it's older dc9 brother for awhile at MKE. Truly an industry workhorse! Compared to the 737's or the A320 most of us ramp rats hated the md's... the cargo bins were like a coffin , the low ground clearance made rear visibilty difficult when pushing off the gate, and most of all you would wack your head on the jt8d strake when servicing the rear lavs if you were not careful! But for every negative, there was a positive...it was built like a tank, and we count always count on it's mechanical reliability to leave on time!

My first MD flight was in the fall of 1987, FBU-BGO. The last about 25 yrs later I think. In Europe there is ONE MD still flying. It is with DAT/DX. One story from the early 90s. I was flying from ALF-TOS-FBU. This was in winter and the weather was not good. The first leg of the trip was no problem but the landing in TOS was like on the USS Nimitz… the winds was 270/45G65 the rwy is 01-19. The main cabin door they was forbidden to open due to the insane wind speed. So all the pax and catering had to go via the aft stears. You could feel the whole airplane twisting and turning in the wind. We lined up on rwy and reved the engines at 80% power for over 20 mins. I do not know why. When the winds was below Max we took off like a rocket. Holy cow! Not much turbulence. The rest of flight was smooth.

I will miss the MD-88. It was a great aircraft and super versatile. Thanks for the many years of service. At least we still have the “angry puppy” 717 yet.

October will mark my 4th year of working for DGS (Now Unifi) and in that time I have worked numerous MD-88 flights and flew on quite a number of them to various locations and also on an MD-90 as well. This was one of the first types of aircraft I got to work when I started working with commercial airlines back in 2016. I would have loved to had been on this final flight from DC to Atlanta for sentimental and historical reasons. Thank you to the MD-88 for all of the memories. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this video as well.

I flew the MD-88 for several years out of NYC as a new hire pilot at Delta. Great memories. It was a ton of work as a First Officer but also a ton of fun. We'll miss the Mad Dog! Thanks for the great video.
