The camel is more practical, an ecru is hard to keep clean and it does look a little like a lab coat! I dream of the Carlo vest in ocre but it is sold out, but Katie check their jumpsuits/overalls, they are underrated!
Ooh I have never tried any of their jumpsuits! I don't know if they would work for me with my body type but I will definitely give them a go! Thank you :)
Yes, I was thinking the ecru is lab coat looking and I don't like the way the wrinkles show. On a diff note, I love your videos and always turn to you to see sezane clothes tried on. I think we have similar petite slightly curvy body frames. Plus, you give good advice!
Awh I'm so glad the videos are helpful! I know how it feels, I love it when I see Sézane on people with a similar body type to me... I wish I saw it more often tbh. Thank you :)
Great video, Katie! I’m so glad you showed Fiona jacket, I’ve been super curious to try. 😍 Looks lovely! I kept Daisy jumper, took my usual size and really LOVED the fit and how it feels! Xx
The camel Clyde looks cuter. The ecru color is giving plain jane vibes. You'll get more double takes with the camel than ecru (in a good way). It's got my vote hands down. Hope this helps. Thanks for the detailed video, btw. 🙂
Oh boy, about the lab coat vibes, I am glad to see that I am not the only one who feels this way. I have to agree with you on this. For me, I also get it with the Will in that super pretty embroidered ecru they released last summer. The idea was perfect, but it was giving me too much lab coat vibes so I ended up returning it. My opinion is you should go for the camel one, it is much prettier 😘
Hey Katie! You really suit the Baptiste cardigan. I would keep the camel Clyde, my first thought about the ecru one was ‘It looks like a labcoat’ 😅 What jeans are you wearing in the try on clips? I really like them on you 😘
If it’s not a clear yes, it’s a no. I’d say to give it time and work with what you have, especially if you’re on a low buy and need to prioritize. If you still want it, you can always purchase next Fall.
Definitely the camel Clyde! I thought the ecru looked like a doctor's coat, even before you mentioned it :/. The sage Scott is such a good Spring color, I think! Also, am I crazy, or did you say you were doing 1 item a month for your low buy? I apologize if I'm making that up lol, I'm just doing a low buy myself and thought I remembered you saying that!
Hi Katie, I’ve watched this video five times before I decided which one to go with. It’s been very helpful! Thank you! Last weekend Sézane brought the Clyde Trench Coat back at a higher price (have you also noticed that they’ve recently raised up prices for almost all pieces of clothing by approx. 10% right before they launched the 2nd Archieve). Now that I’ve gotta be more selective when making a purchase considering the price jump. I feel like the Camel is more classic and versatile as so called a Car Trench Coat.😊
Thanks Katie. Loved the video with your perspective on these pieces. I definitely liked the ecru trench better on you. I think it looked better with your skin tone and hair color. I also think you will get much more wear from the coat in this color. I did not get, even for one second lab coat vibes in the ecru shade trench. I think you should sell the first one you purchased. Have a lovely week.
Hi Katie😊 love your channel. I liked the ecru clyde....it's unique, it doesn't look like a lab coat to me, especially with the buttons and plaid lining. The camel is nice, but it's easy to find a camel trench. I also thought the daisy looked really pretty, but it's very casual, almost like a really cute sweatshirt...more for lounging...thanks for your content and reviews
There is something bothering me about the first two striped pieces. The Daisy junper is because of the wide sleeves just as you said, but I personally don't like the fit of the Baptist cardigan as well but can't quite tell why. I am not a fan of those thicker striped as well. Maybe you should try the ecru navy striped Betty cardigan instead? I think this one looks better though Sezane unfortunately discontinued the one with gold buttons. And I actually prefer the ecru trench on you :)
I don't think any of these are keepers. Since you're on a low buy, and in light of your video talking about your Sezane 'misses' that didn't stay in your wardrobe, I think you can only sensibly add items that A) you absolutely love and which have no discernible drawbacks, and B) actually fill a genuine gap. Perhaps before the next Sezane release, you could do an audit of your wardrobe and see if you have any gaps that are real needs. By auditing what you have and thinking about what you need first, rather than reacting to what's placed in front of you, your choices are dictated by your own requirements and not Sezane's releases. I'd watch the hell out of a wardrobe audit and anti-Shop with Me video like that. PS. Yes, the ecru = lab coat for sure. Your other trench coats are much nicer.
Thanks! I mostly agree. I can definitely do a wardrobe audit! I only kept the ankle boots for that reason, that was a definite gap in my wardrobe that's been bugging me every-time I go to leave the house, so pleased with the purchase.
Thank-you for the review! There's nothing here including the Clyde coats that is worth the splurge for you esp on a low buy in my opinion. Several look very good, but nothing mind-blowing. If you are set on a Clyde, i think the camel is superior. Ill have to check out which Scott you have!
I purchased the Baptiste cardigan, but it felt a bit flimsy and didn't quite have the typical cardigan style. Instead, it seemed more suitable as a jumper, which wasn't an issue for me, but there was something about it that didn't quite appeal to me. As a result, I've placed an order for the Willson striped cardigan, and I'm currently awaiting its arrival.
I know what you mean. I have tried the Wilson, it’s much more of a substantial, thicker material! Suits the cardigan shape more than the Baptiste, hopefully you’ll love it!
Since you’re on a low buy the only item I would consider are the boots. The Clyde looks better in camel, the Daisy is too big and the sleeves are not flattering. The striped cardigan: it’s similar to Betty and didn’t you wear something like this before? The Fiona is great on petites. I have tried it in my usual size and it’s perfect, but not convinced it’s the best choice for you.
Hi Katie🧥The Camel trench all the way🎉… It really suits your coloring I think. The lighter one just didn’t seem as nice. Also, I tried the Baptiste Cardigan too(a like but not a love). Those buttons were too flimsy. Usually Sezane does such a spectacular job with their buttons, but these…. Ah, no. Out of all your styled items, I think the Marionette lace blouse is the best🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 Just gorgeous. Thanks for a great review/video, best to you 🙂
Hello Katie, loved the video. For me personally, I find the SEzane coats to expensive for the quality they have. The knitwear on the other hand I love :)
The ecru Clyde kind of looks like a lab coat... I was tossing up between the light beige and the camel in the most recent re-release and ended up going with the camel. Suits my pale skin tone a lot more! The warm tone looks good on your skin tone too! And seems to break up a lot of the other off-white/ecru items you have in your wardrobe 😊
The Scott is more timeless, if you are looking for that very classic trench you can't go wrong with the Scott, it's stunning. The Clyde is more of a mac coat in my opinion, rather than a trench. The shape of it and lack of belt means it's not really a classic trench.
Hi Katie ! I have the same problem with the clyde trench ! I purchased the camel when it came out but I really prefer the ecru because it is less of a warm tone. So I gifted the camel to my mom and she's very happy ! On the footage, I would say the ecru looks a bit better with your skin tone but you have to trust yourself and keep the one you think you will wear the most ! Love your videos by the way !! I have the Axelle boots in ecru as well. Now I love them but the first few times I wore them, they were really uncomfortable ! If you have a wide calf, they are hard to close at first but after wearing them a few times they feel great !
In my opinion, the camel trench is a classic. My first instinct is to say no to the ecru trench, but I see what u mean about it being a spring trench. My vote would be stay with the camel. Regarding the pieces you bought, I would say keep the boots or blouse.
I never knew the Rym shirt had a plain back until you mentioned it- none of the product photos show what the back looks like and I assumed the lace pattern would continue. I am much less interested in it now. Thanks for the public service 😄
As someone who worked in a lab, I can surely say the écru Clyde does not look like a lab coat 😄 I do prefer the camel one though, looks more elegant I think. Thank you for yet another lovely video 🙏🏼
@@katie_louise I really enjoy it. The shape and the colour. I had to take it one size smaller. It's only 50% cotton which I didn't notice at first. I wish it would be 100% like the camel and the black one.
Is Sézane worth the money? It depends on the piece and the fabric. I used to be a Sézane addict… my « addiction » was out of control !!! I was « in love » with a lot of pieces. Unfortunately, I came to realize that 90% of the pieces I kept were from their oldest collections. I used to read comments about the drop in quality and didn’t understand why people were saying that until I scored some pieces from the Archives …only then I understood!!! For instance, I bought about 4 years ago the Chloé silk blouse. Then I repurchased it several months ago… I didn’t feel that the fabric was the same. I had to size up with the newest item and it still didn’t fit the same. I had to returned it. Even with their « eau de Sézane » the smell is not quite the same and it definitely does not last at all compared to the original… the SA keep on saying that only the packaging have changed when the reality is different. Also, I would definitely suggest to check the second hand market to see the « wear and tear » of some of the pieces… I sold many of the pieces I had bought and only kept my favorites. Last year, I only bought a jumper, a dress, a belt and a trouser. I think I can honestly say, I’m definitely sober now 😂😅🤣
I think Sézane is using more and more polyester fabrics, also the construction of some pieces is poor when compared to past collections. It's such a same that this is happening as they risk becoming just one more fast fashion (more expensive) brand. I realised that these new collections have to be carefully analysed in terms of fabric quality, size and shape and also the construction. I ordered already Peter skirt in check print 3 times and all came with uneven pattern on the sides and, of course I returned them all.
I prefer the camel colour. You can totally wear it during the spring/summer. The ecru looks cheap, maybe it’s because of the creases, it’s hard to tell.
The Fiona is so stunning! Shame it runs a bit small. The Ecru clyde looks, ah I strongly prefer the camel one. The ecru gives lab coat vibes and is hard to keep clean 🤔
I ordered the Daisy in XXS because it was all that was left at the time, before it arrived the XS popped up again so I ordered it to compare the two (I'm typically a XS). This jumper is pretty oversized though. The sleeves on the XXS are fine on my arms, but the XS is less cropped. Overall I like this one though, I like the casual style. The sleeves also look fine cuffed. I'm on a strict low buy too, so this was the only piece I ordered.
amazing! the daisy is a lovely, high-quality piece. I can totally see it as a great investment if the sleeve width doesn't both you. Thanks for sharing :)
I forgot to bring up one question: is the Ecru much lighter in weight compared with the Camel. I feel like the Light Beige colour might be a good choice for those who haven’t bought any one of them. Light Beige is the colour sitting in between Camel and Ecru?
If I were you, I would only keep the suede jacket and/ or the Axelle boots. They are lovely and timeless. The other items are lovely too, but are either too expensive for what they are or you already own another version of them (like the khaki colored trench coat you own, which is nicer and prettier than this trench, in my opinion). If you wish to keep one of the trenches, the camel one suits you better and is as versatile as the light colored one.
Thank you for this review video. It's always so helpful! If I had to choose, I would pick the camel color over ecru for you. I ordered the Daisy jumper and the Rym. The daisy I bought was in my normal size and it was huge on me, especially in the length of the arms. The Rym I was disappointed that the pattern wasn't continued on the back of the shirt.
Unpopular opinion but I don’t think either Clyde truly suits you. The ecru color is better for your cool undertoned coloring but the fit is a bit too big and tent-like for your short torso/pear shape. I’d say keep the one you have, enjoy it and get good wear out of it until the perfect thing comes along in the future. Look for a taupe trench with more of a shell pink undertone and something with a belt to highlight your waist. It might take years until you find it but you’ll know when it’s right.
That’s totally fair! I agree about the colour. I don’t think you’re wrong, a belted coat is more flattering - I have the Scott Trench which has a belt and is great. I will say though, sometimes if I love the shape of something I will wear it, even if it’s not the most ‘flattering’ option. Sometimes as a curvier girl, I just want to wear the shapes and silhouettes the ‘cool’ ‘thin’ girls are wearing and that is okay! I think sometimes only wearing ‘flattering’ shapes limits our personal style. Definitely a place for it and there’s certain styles I definitely avoid because they wouldn’t suit me, but I don’t think a coat’s primary function is to be flattering (a dress for a special occasion on the other hand, totally. Go with what suits you so you feel your best) but a coat? Oversized is cool sometimes in my opinion ☺️
Agreed, but the only negative thing I said about it was the wide sleeves - that would still be the case with the medium! It's part of the design and just my preference not liking it. I didn't actually say anything negative about it otherwise :)

The camel looks much better than the Ecru, and will be much more versatile. The ecru doesn't look like a lab coat to me, it looks like a bathrobe

Thank you! It's this one - rstyle.me/+Pl_ByIzmY4_bcT7RkzegGA
I forgot to bring up one question: is the Ecru much lighter in weight compared with the Camel. I feel like the Light Beige colour might be a good choice for those who haven’t bought any one of them. Light Beige is the colour sitting in between Camel and Ecru?
You look nice on both Camel and Ecru, but if you’ve gotta pick on in btw those two, I’d suggest go with the Camel 😊
I definitely think the camel clyde coat looks better!!
Thank you!
You are right, thank you! I’ve decided to keep the boots as my one item, I really need a pair of ankle boots and these are great! ☺️
A good choice!@@katie_louise
The camel is more classic!
Im so glad it's helpful!
Keep the camel the colour has depth and looks more substantial than the ecru ❤
I prefer the ecru to the camel colour on you
Unpopular opinion but I don’t think either Clyde truly suits you.
I definitely would keep the camel trench coat.
I will!
Ecru for sure!
Yes lab vibes :)
Hahaha okay ;)
The camel looks more chic. It looks more expensive. The ecru looks almost cheap
Thanks! Although may be the creases making it look cheap and that's only because I didn't iron it haha
The Daisy jumper needed to be in medium, its not fair to judge it when it was clearly too large!
Agreed, but the only negative thing I said about it was the wide sleeves - that would still be the case with the medium! It's part of the design and just my preference not liking it. I didn't actually say anything negative about it otherwise :)
You can so tell the lighter coat is not 💯 per cent cotton
I think it might be because it's not ironed though! It's my fault, not a fair comparison really, I just was limited on time.
Totally love the ecru trench coat. It's a much more timeless colour and more versatile.
Thank you! I have no idea what to think reading the comments, it’s 50/50 split between camel and ecru 😂
Funny, I thought the Fiona was TTS!
Also, the ecru Clyde is okay but think about how dirty it would get 😭. I think the darker colour would be much more practical!
That is true, it's a high maintenance piece for sure!! Thank you :)
Camel 🐪 is my fav
thanks!
Far prefer the camel Clyde!
Camel ❤
Thanks!
Keep the camel.
Keep the camel😅
Camel suits you more.
Thanks!
