Hmmm I wouldn’t say there are traditionally warm but if I had to pick one to wear over a sweater in a cold day I’ll probably do the Scott because personally I find that a more form fitting cut retains the body heat more.
Which coat in particular? I have the Mederick and it's not itchy but I can't speak for all coats (maybe the composition is different depending on the design)

I am short and I have purchased many trench coats that never fit. Frustrating.
The Scott trench is a bit more cropped in length so it’s definitely a better bet than the Clyde for short people. Have you tried it?

It's not waterproof, I'd say it's slightly water resistant
