Just want to say i did the latch led power method for the socd that a commentor mentioned below and it totally worked thanks for sharing dude - maybe remake the vid with the led power trick
Thank you friend! Previous owner really did a number on it and I figured I’d try to give it some sort of new life! Good luck man, TE2s are so nice. I hope you’re able to get your hands on one, at least without having to murder somebody lmao.
I'm on the allfightsticks website I can't see this panel unfortunately. Man I didn't know they a panel like that haha... I drilled holes in mine and just hoped it worked out haha... you got a video on adding Kaimana LEDS into your madcatz? Madcatz TE2 is my go to man I'm trying to make mine as premium as possible haha... Let me know if you got any other mods on your Madcatz TE2 i'm on that grind as well! great video bro take care!
Yo dude! Thanks for the love and the comment! So I had to go to their discord for it and this was so long ago I’m not sure if they even make them anymore. I have not added any LEDs to mine yet I just left it as is after this mod. Leverless has been my absolute go to. I’m glad to meet another TE2 head! I have like 4 of em lmao and I love them! Thanks for watching!
awesome video I just got this setup using a panel from AFS as well. I had a random question for you. When you do left + right input what comes out for you? If I do right + left it becomes left but if I do left + right it stays left. Was wondering if it was the same for you. I might need to get an socd cleaner..
I got the AFS panel as well, and did the mod 3 months ago. I have the same situation as you, "left" is always having the priority over "right. I was investigating for the cheapest SOCD cleaner solution (one cheaper than buying a new PCB), let me know if you find anything!
Wow. That’s on me. I didn’t read the usernames. You and somebody else literally hit me up at the same time asking for the conversion kit. I thought you found my Twitter and used that as a second Avenue. Anyway, the best way to get it is to join the AllFightSticks discord and get with their customer service reps there. It was low stock when I got to them. Idk about now. Good luck my man.
Hi. I don't know if you'll see this comment two years after the fact, but great video. I have the same exact TE2 stick (but in much better condition) and was thinking about converting it. I was wondering, how much did this project cost you total?
Thank you! Sorry for the delayed response. The panel normally runs I believe $30 but they gave me a defective one for a cheaper $10~ price. The most expensive part of this was definitely the buttons. I don’t exactly remember the total cost but I will tell you it was likely under $50 after shipping and taxes.
Osutin Heizu I haven’t, I’m so sorry. I’ve just been rolling with it for now. I was thinking of taking the L and replacing the pcb a Brook board but I just picked it back up. I’m looking to get back to it and finding the solder points and making some sort of cable with the help of people more knowledgeable and HOPEFULLY I can make a follow up
@@thekinotheatre if you don’t want to solder I found a little work around. On the Focus Attack SOCD there is a port you can plug wires directly into for power, no need for a connector or solder. I just took the wires that are used for the LED inside the case latch button on the te2 to power the SOCD. I took apart the latch button till I made it to the LED and removed those wires and used them to run to power the SOCD. Works like a charm and super easy
You know what’s funny, is I have had that thought rolling around my head for the longest time but never acted upon it because it seemed too simple of a solution and wouldn’t work. But with this testimony I may have to pop it open and take a look. Holy heck man thank you. Good looking out
Thank you friend! According to the rep who helped me on discord they have these in stock but just not listed on their website. I had to go through like a side quest to even find out they had them but just not anywhere on their website. You can contact them via their discord and somebody can help set up the order for you. It’s fairly painless once you get into contact with them.
Heck yeah thank you dude! Yeah, it was pretty easy when all said and done. I bought the 5 pin from FocusAttack. Here is the link to the product page on their site! focusattack.com/5-pin-hitbox-conversion-harness/
I did not, I didn’t realize the PCB did not have SOCD cleaner built in. I’m currently working on getting it installed on here and I’ll try to post an update once I get it.
I haven’t yet, the focus attack SOCD cleaner I bought requires power and I have zero clue whatsoever where I can draw enough power for it on the PCB. I was told that I could solder on wires to some spot somewhere but even then that person didn’t sound like they knew what they were talking about. I’ve been asking around to hopefully get a better idea of what to do because I have no idea.
@@thekinotheatre Yeah that's the problem I'm about to face I think as well. I'm trying to see if there's any kind of splitter cable i can use for getting power to both the main board and the SOCD
I’m not sure about splitting but I’m half tempted to either splice into or overtake the power that goes to the little madcatz led light on the latch and use that to power my SOCD but I’m not certain yet. I’m not too worried about it until offline comes back so I guess I have a little bit more time before I need to figure it or
@@thekinotheatre There's some Y-splitters on Amazon that I might look into getting just to see but i'm not sure they'll be compatible. Overtaking the LED sounds like a potentially decent option assuming the LED uses the same type of connector that the SOCD board uses? I haven't popped open that part of the board to check. I sorta started getting parts for the hitbox conversion before realizing the power concern.
@@thekinotheatre I have a little update that I wanted to pass along to you. When I was doing some research I noticed there's an open 3-pin port on the MadCatz PCB that's supposed to be used for an extra LED board if you want to have light up buttons and stuff. I'm going to look into making a cable that plugs into that and powers the SOCD (you'll need a cable with a JST-PH on one end and a JST-ZH on the other). I'll let you know if this is a success or not.
To differentiate the levels between my action buttons and movements. I think it’s more of a placebo because i didn’t notice a difference when playing. I thought that I’d confuse the LK and jump buttons so I wanted a way to subconsciously differentiate.
Hey bro. Great video. I’ve been thinking about getting a hit box for awhile now & glad I can mod my te2 & swap back & forth easily!
Thank you dude! I really appreciate the positive feedback!
I love you, i never think i could mod my Te2 to a hitbox, when i have the pieces i will do it!, thank you so much!
Thank you! I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

it def needs an SOCD cleaner which I did not know at the time. Should probably make a follow up for it.
