The only thing I don't understand about this performance is why no one stormed the stage. I have listened to this a number of times and every time I just want to hurl myself through the monitor and just give her this enormous hug.
They asked the audience to keep quiet because they were recording the performance. Hmmm. I would have been crying anyway

I always feel a little embarrassed with this video, like I'm seeing her naked soul and feeling her anguish so personally that I'm intruding. It's just so authentic, the anger and despair are absolutely real, but then the beauty of her voice and the caliber of her performance is pretty much mind-boggling.
How could the audience just sit there???? I can't take it... That was spectacular!!

Your reaction is the realest, most genuine, and the closest to mine I've seen on RUclips. Her RAW EMOTION in her voice when she sang EACH and EVERY WORD. UGH stank face every time I watch her video. And I get why we connect too, we both sing and can recognize what it takes to execute what she just did. Every single run and trick doesn't need an over the top reaction, scream or 😱. I watched this video a week ago for the first time and babbbbbby when i say she gave me my life for old and new... i fell in love with her instantly! Its rare that we are blessed to hear artists that bare it all! She allowed us to see her completely naked. And vulnerability in an artist brings out a side of them that is amazing. She is the next big star we fall in love with. *sighs* im going to new york just so i can witness her perform in person. She had me in tears for real!

Yebba is a talented and humble soul, we are blessed to be alive during her era and witnessing her beautiful alent, i am inlove this woman is phenomenal.
After 50 years of listening to all genres of music I would put this LIVE (only a guitar accompanying) performance by this lady up against any other LIVE performance (with only a musical instrument accompanying) of any singers. DOPE, SICK, DA BOMB G.O.A.T. Yebba States her influences were Aretha Franklin 🙌🏽 and The Clark Sisters🙌🏽 and Afro-American Gospel Music. She just won a Grammy (2019) with P J Morton for ‘How Deep is Your Love’ . Check out ‘Evergreen’ (video Beats 1) where Yebba sings an original song in memory of her mother who committed suicide 5 days after the performance above (2016). She sings it in a church with a full accompanying Church Choir 🙏🏽

All her voice aside she was brilliant in all that but the runs her vibrator crazy mad the pain she passes on in the way she expresses her story is wow mind blowing!

Atn many places in this song, she appears to be either on the verge of tears or actually wailing in pain. I think that's why so many of us are moved by this song of betrayal by someone who's supposed to love you. And, also, you have to be able to empathize/sympathize .... and I've seen lots of people while watching reactions to this performance who were shedding tears and struggling to maintain their emotions. That is actually a good thing, as it shows we are good people who care about others.
My reaction was EXACTLY the same. I got chills, cried...felt like I needed to pray. I have rarely seen someone sing with that much emotion. Aside from the cheating the song is about, her emotions and her deep hurt carries though the actual words and speaks to the part of my soul that has felt my deepest pain.

Yebba is Abbey backwards...a childhood nickname given by her mother. She tragically lost her mom a week after this performance. Since her mom's passing, she has gone back to Abbey Smith...for future searches.
