I don't listen to this song. I emotionally experience it. She is just...very special. She creates this open space for herself, for us to break with her, to hurt with her, to cry out with her. It feels spiritual, deeply intimate, I have no words for this.
It’s her choices for me. Such an emotive singer to begin with... it’s like she internalized the entire song line by line. It’s shown in every note. Every word. Every lyrical phrase. Her control and vocal agility just dominate the performance and then she adds the emotion. If you think listening to this brilliance is carthatic, imagine writing that! What a courageous artist! Bravery personified!!
She's alledged to have said she'll never sing this again as it was a week after her Mother Passed away and losing her partner, the pain shows in the song. Amazing performance.
Okay so lemme just say that I've watched a lot of reaction to this song, especially from musical/vocal coaches. I have to say that yours is the first one that I've actually enjoyed. Your reaction is informative and not pretentious and actually very helpful. I've never realized microphone technique until you mentioned it here and appreciate that you're clearly a talented musician that has a genuine appreciation for other musician's talent. Amazing reaction and you've absolutely earned a new sub.
This was my introduction to Yebba and when I say I listened to it on repeat for hours LITERALLY HOURS and cried and cried. It was so cathartic and man just man I lack the words. She is freaking perfection 💕💕
There is a “vocal coach” on here who actually criticized the entire performance picking on all the parts that make this song what it is...AND she criticized her wardrobe choice lol If someone doesn’t get emotional after seeing this, they should check to see if they have a soul
I must have watched this well over a hundred times and I still have chills and tears running down my face. I absolutely love Yebba. She hits with this song and every single one after it.
Best reaction to Yebba - My Mind, and I've seen them all love watching people's first time listening to this masterpiece. The facts throughout just made it even better.
I am so glad to hear your reaction to this performance! I found your channel initially from searching “yebba reactions” a month ago, because it is addictive to watch others be changed when watching this, at some point everyone is speechless. Thank you for sharing your responses and insights, they still hit like a talk between friends. 🎶
I'm at 3:22 and you say, "She is remarkable." I was saying that in my head at that exact same moment. I've heard the song, and I know what's coming. I can't wait to see your reaction. I cried.
Her mother died by suicide about a week after Yebba sang her first original song, causing "My Mind" to take on new meaning representing mental health. She says her artist name was chosen to honor her mother, who she said "always called her by the nickname" (her name Abbey written backwards) as a child.
thank you for liking my comment.. I have watched at least 56 reactions to this song... and I love yours best... I love the fact you suggestion to a collaboration with her...My daughter introduced me to this song by an interpretation Dane by one of a set of Twins “ Les Twins “ I was so AMAZED!!! I would love for you to give it a look 😊
I can't get enough of Yebba, she is phenomenal, made me cry, I know which what she speaks being betrayed it lasts throughout your life, and the earrings are everything, and so is Yebba. I just discovered her, this is 6yrs. old why no record deal, where is she?
Some people just want to do their thing, not be super famous and just live their art. She is a wonderful wonderful artist but maybe she’s just not or just doesn’t want to be a star…? Idk
Great reaction vid! I have never in my life heard such naked, unbridled emotion combined with such masterful control of a voice. Mesmerizing performance. She needs to be famous!
Fame can be so destructive. How about enjoyed by enough to make a wonderful living and that she can keep making art the way she wants to, without compromise…? Can I get an Amen?!
Your words are so wise i wanna hug you! U might be shock hearing this but some people i shared the performance with didn’t like it! Right crazy!!!! But your reactions are exactly what yebba deserves she is a gem! And a warrior God bless you my friend, you are an honest cool guy🤟
You mentioned mic technique and one of my favorite parts of this performance is that she keeps that mic there for all the grit and projection and distortion like she’s clinging to it for dear life- like she wants everyone to hear it all. It’s so ballsy. That and her yodel sounds- primal and absolutely breathtaking. Please watch her Tiny Desk concert if you have not already- it’s a masterpiece!
you know you're in the presence of something really special?? anyone 🙋🙋🙋 when u listen to someone truly blessed you can't learn this s**t in school glad I could appreciate this greatness in my lifetime ❤️❤️
You played those chords masterfully. Also, I would love to see you do a reaction video to Jazmine Sullivan's Pick Up Your Feelings live acoustic version‼️‼️. Totally worth it ‼️
That is the most beautiful, amazing, soulful pain I have ever heard. I have an eargasm ever time I hear this. I love her so much. And when you started playing I was like 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗Beautiful. Loved your reaction and critique.
Shes really my favorite for this. So stinkin talented. I love to see that you appreciate her and her art just as much as I do. Also you're incredible. Would love to work with you one day.
Hi, David. You're the only person I've seen do a REACTION vid on Yebba who actually DID play pieces of the music through through it. I gotta say, although I don't want to hear the "reactors'" playing or TRYING to play. But you're the ONLY one I've heard to this point who actually CAN play and do justice. That aside, I absolutely LOVE YEBBA singing this song. I stumbled on it a few years ago, and have the SAME reaction EVERY TIME I hear it: I just break down crying!!!! Can't help it; don't try to conceal it. I just let the song take me. She has such a good range and control of her vocals; and it seems that this song is REAL to her personal experience. THAT kind of honesty and vulnerability is IRRESISTABLE to me. Now you gotta do a reaction to Snarky Puppy's Lingus!!!! If you like (or don't like) instrumentals, your gonna LOVE this band/orchestra!!!!! GUARANTEED!!!!!
Love watching ur reactions. Can really see the passion and appreciation you have for music. Also love how you don’t pause every 10 seconds. Please react to Harry Styles npr tiny desk concert.
Dude...I told you before, I play as well. Every time you just casually play a bit...really gets me frustrated. Lol. You are one with your piano. Fantastic.
Loved your reaction☺️ You should react to Nothing But Thieves next! Their singer Conor Mason is an amazing vocalist. There’s compilations of his best live vocals, or any of their live performances
Years ago, I heard a song by Tori Amos that (at the time) she said she only played live. I don’t know if she ever did a studio version of it. But at the time, I was going through a divorce, I was a single, working mom, without support and life was just hard. I started experiencing panic attacks and losing my hair due to all of the stress. Anyhoo, that song, Cooling, was my catharsis. Prior to that, music never had that impact on me, but it was healing and therapeutic. I’ve been through a lot of other things since and thankfully with counseling, I’ve learned to cope and I haven’t had a panic attack in more than 10 years (and even after going through years of infertility and cancer). So mentally, I’m good. But this song right here, this song, My Mind, takes me back, and emotionally has a similar impact on me that Cooling did. I’ve never been through the type of heartache she seems to have gone through (I actually wanted my divorce previously...he was a shithead), I went through a different kind of heartache (multiple miscarriages) but this song is such a gut punch that I can’t stop listening to it. I love it and I think this is one of my favorite reaction videos to it. I think I love the reaction videos because it’s validating that we’ve all had pain and she emotes it so painfully and beautifully.
Possibly the best reaction I’ve seen to this performance. I would love to see your reaction to BTS. I’d recommend Festa Room Live and their Tiny Desk Performance and the MV for Black Swan.
Hey could you please react to Yebba -Gravity by John Mayer? Its a duet and the guys she sings It with is amazing as well. Its truly a special performance.
Maaaan you got a sub from me sir. I'm not Easy to move emotionally I'm a large some would say scary looking dude....but this song..I just want to give her a big hug. And thank her for this beautiful master piece.
Vibrato is one of my idiosyncrasies, I usually would not be keen on that really fast vibrato she chooses at the beginning of the song...but here? Damned if it doesn't actually sound like crying. Yebba is ridiculous, so happy to have found her.
Would love to see you react to Katie Noonan or Delta Goodrem two amazing Australian artists who don’t get much recognition overseas! Both are beautiful emotive singers.
7:25 I can tell that you are expounding on her song, but it also reminds me of the piano on "Fallin' in Love" by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. This is my first exposure to your YT page. I look forward to watching more of your videos!
This is what started it all. Ed Sheeran's team signed her immediately after this song. Yebba's first solo set, so forgive her wardrobe...no stylist yet 😘
Check out Beth Hart, "Am I the one". She has a quality to her sound that sounds like Yebba, Janis Joplin and a bit of Mary J. Blige. I think you will like her as well. Oh and shout out to you for being able to just play the song after hearing it once! Damn 🌹🙏
Can you react to the band Sokoninaru? Specifically I love their songs re:program and Tenohira de Odoru, I think you'll like them too they're very complex.
Hey she has some new videos out. She is singing live at Electric Lady! Can you react them them?! Don’t matter the order. They all great! Also her Pianist is so good.
Love you reacting to some of my favorites like Yebba and Polyphia. Would love you to check out Mike Love. He is an extremely talented musician, singer and looper. His songs are a little longer, but his live shows really show off his talent. Here's a link to one for example from 2015. ruclips.net/video/2lhipTFrOqo/видео.html
That means that he was 'all in;' paying attention to every minute detail of her, her hands & movement of her fingers, her body language - he was All In & there's nothing wrong with that!
THE WAY YOU JUST STARTED PLAYING THE CHORDS... *WHAAAAAT*
Right! I was speechless!
Right!!
I loved those parts!!💜 Of course, Yebba is a force to be reckoned with🎶🎵🎵🎶💯🔥
I subscribed soon as he did that
I don't listen to this song. I emotionally experience it. She is just...very special. She creates this open space for herself, for us to break with her, to hurt with her, to cry out with her. It feels spiritual, deeply intimate, I have no words for this.
No words
I’ve seen this video at least 20 or 30 times and it gets me every single time
It’s her choices for me.
This song is the epitome of a soul cry
Amen
I literally say this every time I hear it
I wish she would come out with something like this again...this is heartbreakingly perfect.
Go listen to her WHOLE tiny desk
She's alledged to have said she'll never sing this again as it was a week after her Mother Passed away and losing her partner, the pain shows in the song. Amazing performance.
Paranoia purple from her last album.
Love watching reactions to Yebba. It’s like hearing her again for the first time. Great reaction!
There are no words when your heart is THAT broken, that's it. And instead she could sing it, this is how strong this woman is!
And how vulnerable
HANDS DOWN THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE I HAVE EVER WITNESSED!!!
So moving, she melts us
Okay so lemme just say that I've watched a lot of reaction to this song, especially from musical/vocal coaches. I have to say that yours is the first one that I've actually enjoyed. My first time watching this video 3 years ago I cried for a smooth hour watching it on repeat.
This songs kicks my ass everytime I hear it! Sooo powerful!
Such a haunting vocal
This was my introduction to Yebba and when I say I listened to it on repeat for hours LITERALLY HOURS and cried and cried. It was so cathartic and man just man I lack the words. She is freaking perfection 💕💕
She is very very special
"If she didn't have music what would she do?". That hit home for me. I think music shaped and saved my life on many levels.
There is a “vocal coach” on here who actually criticized the entire performance picking on all the parts that make this song what it is...AND she criticized her wardrobe choice lol If someone doesn’t get emotional after seeing this, they should check to see if they have a soul
I seen that too.. I "critiqued" her azzzz too 🙄😉
Who ever they are, they sound like a 🤡
Who is that.? Have to watch it
Who the hell did that 😡
was that tara simon studios?
I must have watched this well over a hundred times and I still have chills and tears running down my face. I absolutely love Yebba. She hits with this song and every single one after it.
Me too
She said, "that's that one." Hell yeah!
Best reaction to Yebba - My Mind, and I've seen them all love watching people's first time listening to this masterpiece. The facts throughout just made it even better.

I came for, Yebba and stayed for your incredible piano skills. You can tell you are, Yebba but on the keys. Both magical. Thank you
Loved your reaction and when you played some of the chords. You are such a talented pianist. She is so special and vulnerable.
I'm at 3:22 and you say, "She is remarkable." I was saying that in my head at that exact same moment. I've heard the song, and I know what's coming. I can't wait to see your reaction. I cried.
Crying is a wonderful thing
One of my favorite singers!!!

Such an interesting reaction. And, holy sh/t your quick improvs over her song are so, so nice
