Only Michael Johnson could talk about a 43.49 as a conservative race. Nothing like holding back on a sub 44 sec 400m.

Incredible to hear a legend of athletics such as Michael Johnson talk us through his victories, who would you like to see relive their Olympic memories?

Pietro Mennea. Lee Evans. Michael Phelps. Jim Hines, Mary Lou Retton, Bob Hayes (if he were alive), Mark Spitz. I could go on. There are so many.

I second Lee Evans, and would like Tommie Smith as well.

Forrest Gump post-race interview- "No-one, only my momma perhaps, believed me when I told em I run as fast as the wind blows. But you know, I just keep eatin mah pays and carrots and trainin hard till mah buttocks are as firm as tinned hams. You see one day I just felt like runnin and here are am now. From this day on, if I go somewhere, I am ruhn-ning".

A 400/200 double with a superior WR. No one can do that again.
Today no one even try to run a 400/200 double because it's to difficult.
Van Niekerk did in 2017 but couldn't win the 200 although he was in great shape and his competitors weren't.
