I tried to follow your instructions and I watched the tutorial and took notes! My paint which I mixed for the sand turned out very grainy. Would you say that is due to poor quality paints? I used my daughter’s supply, the colors you recommend, however, only the white was from artist’s loft. The other colors cane from a kit called glookers art. My hands hurt from mixing so I did mix thoroughly and then added the pouring medium 2:1. Thanks for your thoughts! I love your art!
Sure you can use floetrol. The use of water is optional, if you want paint to flow more or to be more color-transparent. Sometimes a few drops of water may be enough

Really like your sand treatment. But for realism I would try "gradient" texturing, heavy at driest sand, to no texture at waters edge.
This is amazing! Could you do a clear coat of resin over it instead of acrylic???
