what oil are you using in your work?
I use treadmill silicone oil - there is a link to it in the description box.
Just found your channel today and I see you are fairly new. So im now watching all I can because so far your art looks amazing 👏
I am so in love with acrylic pours right now, and im feeling very inspired to try some soon
Thank you! 😄. You should definitely give them a try! I discovered acrylic pours by chance on RUclips and am so glad I did!
@@dcfluidacrylics6633 im definitely gonna try. Just need to get some things together. Gotta source things like flotrol here in New Zealand
I see, all the best getting things sourced. (Btw. if you struggle to get things keep in mind that instead of using Floetrol some people use a mixture of glue and water as a pouring medium. Also, if you can't get hold of silicone oil, some people use hair serum instead...just sharing some other options :-)
@@dcfluidacrylics6633 thanks for the tips! I did look into what Floetrol was and found about glue and ended up down the rabbit hole that is our internet 🤣🤣
The tip on hair oil is just 👌 and we have pva glue readily available here. We do apparently have floetrol. It's rather pricey to begin with. So might be the glue route 😊
Wow this is so beautiful..I really like how simple you made it by using the swipe technique..great result 😍 I am a new subscriber 😉
Thanks so much 😊. Glad you like it!

@@reneeklamot6829 That's such a pity. I'd love to see the pic! If you'd like to share it with me via email - you can do that at dccreations51@gmail.com.
Absolutely stunning. What are you using for swiping? The marker - that you did - was that just white paint? I wish you would create a little set or pack with EVERYTHING you used there including canvas, paint and cups (for beginners) then we could do it easily. Am I dreaming LOL.. I would buy one. Its so hard to know what to buy as in Australian there is not much Artist loft. Would ready made paint (made to pour be suitable?) Thank you for sharing. Great in any house but this canvas so amazing in beach house. How long does it take to dry? And then do you do a gloss over the top or leave as is? I can't look at any others as I only like yours now. :)
It's s beautiful! Also, I love your voice ☺️
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it. I appreciate your kind comments 😊
Very Beautifulllllllll.... 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I love this. Do you mix your paints with Floetrol and also add silicone to get those lovely cells?
Hi Lori, so glad you like it! Yip, I add both Floetrol and silicone oil.
I love this, is the white strip you put down with the sand the only white you put down?
Thanks for checking - I actually added some more white paint but it seems it got edited out of the video and I didn't notice! Around minute 5:14 and 5:15 you'll see suddenly there is more white paint - that's additional white paint that I added to do the swipe.
u got a new subscriber! 😉
btw amazing work😍
Thank you 💕. Welcome!
Nice 👍👍💐
Thank you! 👍🌸
Thank you for the tutorial! I was able to do this beach pour today and it came out beautiful! One question: do you varnish you project after it has dried? Which varnish do you use?
Yay! That's so exciting! To answer your question: Yes, I do varnish. I use Liquitex Gloss Varnish. (Just be sure to allow the paining to cure for about 3-4 weeks and then wash the silicone off well using warm water and a mild dish soap. You can also try other methods to clean off the silicone that you'll find on RUclips.)
Thank you for your quick reply! Do you use the same plastic strip and clean it in between? Or a new strip for each stroke on the painting?
@@ellenvisser6371 for this painting I used a new strip each time. (For other paintings, when I’m using a thin strip of plastic, I’ll usually clean it off in between instead of using a new strip each time.)
The first time I used the stirring sticks wrapper, which did a nice job. The second time I used the canvas wrapper, which was a little thinner. This did not work that well. Do you also experience that?
@@ellenvisser6371 I actually always use the canvas wrapper - I think the trick with it is to ensure that when you put it down it is grabbing onto the paint - it almost feels like there is a bit of ‘suction’ between the paint and the plastic wrap. However, there isn’t a right or wrong tool to use for this, it just comes down to personal preference…some people use a very thick piece of plastic, others use a damp paper towel… 😀
Love it. Do you put one paint on canvas before any paint?
I don't have any base coat down, so I'm pouring the paint directly onto the canvas. Also, for the blues you can lay them down in any order that you like, you don't need to start with any specific color. I hope that helps.
Thank you soooo much for your wonderful tutorial! My 11 year old daughter wants to make this. I'm trying to figure out how much flotroel to buy. It's kind of expensive. In your video, it looks like the 1 gallon size?
My pleasure! Regarding the Floetrol, if you created a painting which is 18 x 24 inches (like the one I did in this video), then you could just buy the 1 quart size - you wouldn't need a whole gallon.
@@dcfluidacrylics6633 Sorry, one more question. How much paint for each color should I buy? (re: blues) Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. My daughter is very excited. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
For an 18 x 24 inch canvas you'd need about 1.25 fl. oz. (roughly 37 ml) of each of the blue paint colors. (If you were using a smaller canvas you could use less paint...)
@@dcfluidacrylics6633 Thank you again so much for your generous help and easy to follow tutorial!
would love to see how this dried.... lots of paint left on the canvas...
Sure, check out this video where I show the dried result: ruclips.net/video/YUelQgBYZZQ/видео.html.
V Nice 👌👌👌👌👌
Thanks 😄
Love it,Is it resin that adds the sheen
Thanks! I actually don't have any resin in this. Any sheen in the sandy colors would likely be from the 2 metallic paints I used for that but in the blues it might just appear to have a sheen because it's still wet :-)
what is "canvas plastic wrap" please. gorgeous!!!!
Wonderful! What exactly is a dirty pour? I’d love to give this a try! Tfs
Thanks! 😊 A dirty pour just refers to adding multiple paint colors to a container before pouring that onto the canvas. (So, when I layered the various sandy colors in a cup and then poured that onto the canvas, that was a dirty pour.)
Beautiful! Do you put silicone in the white only? How much do you put in?
Thanks. I put one drop of silicone in the blues but not in the white.
What did you do to get the sand to pour off screen, I noticed the sand wasn’t moving when you had tilt it. Then all of a sudden it was spread out. Turned out nice.
I just kept tilting until it went over the edges. It was a slow process so I didn't show it all on screen. 😊
Did you add anything else beside floterol in the colors, to create cells?
Yes, I added some silicone to the paint colors - you can see the paint recipe/ratios in the description box.
please can you tell me the things you swiped with ? I am having trouble making that out and i would very much like to try this one. Thanks
I used the plastic wrap that the canvas came packaged in. (Once I removed the plastic wrap from the canvas, I just cut it up into medium sized strips and used those to swipe with.) Towards the end of the painting I used a plastic palette knife to finish the painting off. You could use anything that is plastic and fairly light to swipe with, sometimes people use a slightly damp paper towel.
Just beautiful! May i ask what you use to swipe? Also what would be the approximate cost of a commissioned piece like this? Thank you for being so generous and sharing. ❤️🙏
Thank you 😊! I cut the plastic wrapper that the canvas comes in into pieces and then use those pieces of plastic wrapper to swipe. Happy to provide an approximate cost for a commissioned piece via my email address: dccreations51@gmail.com.
@@dcfluidacrylics6633 thank you so much! I will email you.
@@dcfluidacrylics6633 I just found your channel and love your work, how clearly you explain everything and your calm voice. Also love that you repurposed the plastic wrap, awesome!
I really liked the video. I just have a question in regards to your painting mix, because I don't get your 4 part, 8 part, 1 part section...so all your cups contain 120g colour in total after mixing with floetrol and water?
so how many gram of paint, floetrol and water would that be? or how did you do your calculation?
Thanks :)
Yes, the 120g is the total of the paint mixture (after mixing the paint itself with Floetrol and water). If you would like a more detailed explanation, my video number 21 walks you step by step through my paint mixing process and the related calculations: ruclips.net/video/pzWKdxRqoGk/видео.html.

Loke so pretty ❤️🇩🇰
Thank you! 😊
beautiful! How long does it take to dry completely?
Thank you! It’s takes about 3 days before it’s dry to the touch but it takes about 3-4 weeks for it to fully cure before you can varnish it.
Greeting!
What is the drying time,
How much layer should be on the canvas?
Hi from Bosnia.!
Greetings! The drying time to be able to touch the painting is usually about 3 days. The drying time before you can clean the silicone off and varnish the painting is usually about 4-6 weeks. (I use just enough paint to cover the canvas.). Hope that helps!
@@dcfluidacrylics6633 Thanks!
@@dcfluidacrylics6633 And which varnish to use, thank you !?
Love this. Sorry too many comments to look through so apologize if you already answered. What do you use to drag the paint? 🇿🇦

What was the pieces of plastic that you used?
They were pieces of plastic that I cut out of the wrapper that the canvas came packaged in.
What recipes do you use for the paints?
The recipes for each of the paint colors are mentioned in the first 2 minutes of video.
What were you swiping with? Looks like packing tape.
I cut up the plastic packaging that the canvas came wrapped in and used that to swipe.
