Hey Mitch! ---thanks for all your help. I was about to buy the new Phantom 1 Trainer that DJI has just released. I think its a little upgraded. I might as well get a Phantom 2 for the money. I have never flown a drone so don't want an expensive one yet...just want to learn the basics first. I hear DJI is releasing a new H-4 3D Gimbel for the Phantom 2 now as the Go Pro 4 is a bit heavier and when using current Gimbel made for GO PRO 3 it is burning up motors prematurely. Any suggestions? --your videos are so clear. What camera is that??

I got one question to you, I want to buy the phantom 2 with camera in stock and can you tell me if you buy phantom 2 , you must trim or thanks to gps signal this quadrocopter is stable by it self ? I had for one day the syma x5c-1 an it was unstable . When I started to trim this sh... I couldn't because it didn't work at all :/ I don't know why o_O

How do you upload high qaulity (1080p) video to youtube??...When i upload a video that is 1080p 30 fps with my gopro once it is on youtube it only goes to 420 Fps..If you have any suggestions that would be great. Your videos are great, Thank you
Cool video, just what I was looking for.
I own an octocopter with a brushless gimbal I use for professional video. I'm planning to buy a Phantom with the small brushless gimbal and a GoPro, to practice and to make simpler videos, or interior footage. I will not use the Phantom camera.
Which version of Phantom do you recommend me, 1 or 2, *and which of them* (there's two for each, I think), for price, practicallity and versatility for what I want it?

Hello...quick question for you...I am ready to purchase a Phantom. I am using it for Real Estate aerial photography and video. Which would you recommend the Phantom 2 w/ H3-2D gimbal and Hero 3+ Black or the Vision. The cost appears to be about the same. What about the Wifi range? Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for the video. Im trying to decide to buy a basic Phantom 1 and save a ton of money or pay the extra for one of the newer ones with several more nice features ( but with a price) such as a Phantom 4 or Mavic Pro.
No problem. I was talking about the clip you had of the silver phantom where you were spinning the props. That's your phantom right or is that your friends? I could be mistaken. Either way great vids and keep up the good work. You should put up some more wakeboarding vids, the ones I've seen of you are sick. I Can't wait to get out on our boat and do some go pro wakeboarding myself but the weather needs to cooperate lol. I need some sunny glassy water days for great footage. This cloudy/windy weather in CT needs to go. Take care Mitch.

you really make things very clear! I already own a 350 qx with gimbal, but was thinking in the future, I might buy a DJI Phantom 2, just to try it out.
I was thinking about buying just the Phantom by itself, without the gimbal, to learn,a nd tune the quad, and then buy a 3 axis gimbal later. Do you see any problem with that?

Mic, I enjoyed your video but i just wanted to mention one thing. You had your propellers on your phantom 1 on backwards. In your clip showing the phantom 1 your arm indicates a CCW rotation, but your propeller from looking at it I can see the lift spins clockwise. That's why your nut came off. Two arms spin CCW and two spin CW. So if you have the props on the wrong arms they will literally spin the nuts right off. Keep up the good vids, I enjoy them very much!

I have the P2.. and have found in my research that the P1 is a very capable product...
The P2 props can be installed on the p1. This will give longer flight times also.
The p1 can take uhf for longer range than even the p2 vision... as far as I've seen. .
The p1 can take a dual battery tray for extended dual battery tray to extend flight times.
The p2 has an extended better which are about 150$

Latest phantom 1 comes with self tightening props, notch the battery door and get a $99 ebay gimbal and it works great. Phantom 2 is double price, extra batteries are ten times the price for double flight time, is that worth it?
yeah, you can get like 8 P1 batteries for the price of 1 P2 battery.. The P1 is a good beginner drone, or a drone for those who doesn't want to spend 1000$ on camera and gimbal.. the Phantom FC40 does a good job to get you into it, and also, if you use a gopro 3 black, film in 1440 and stabilize and crop to 1080, nearly perfect gimbal results
Lunchpacked180 I thought the FC40 has 5.8Ghz for short range RC, so your locked into Wifi for preview which is a pain, also cannot fit a gopro on the gimbal, so you'd need to buy another one and chuck the DJI camera/gimbal away, so makes it an expensive route.
***** but that would be for semi pro filming and/or FPV flying, some people just like flying RC drones or helicopters, and the FC40 camera can be bought loose for under 100$
i haven't heard of any 99$ gimbals, though they probably do exist, but i wonder how good they can be.. though probably better than nothing i guess..
though it may be an expensive route, buying a phantom 2 with gimbal and figuring out you used it for a week or two and got tired of it, that may get more expensive in a way..
my point was that for people getting into flying drones, or for those not interested in filming or similar, then the Phantom 1 is a great deal.. i felt the uploader "bashed" the phantom 1 abit.. sure if you're looking to film, go for a P" with gimbal, if you just want to have fun, and maybe film some for fun without being scared that you'll loose 1000$ accessories that's strapped underneath ;)
it's cheaper to replace a FC40 camera than a gopro black with gimbal ;)
(btw i upgraded from a P1 to a P2 with h3 3d gimbal, bur as i said, usig stabilization software can remove much if not al the movements you get from clamping the original gopro house underneath a P1.. so it is possible to get nice fluid stable shots with a gimballess P1 just using higher res footage and stabilization )

Please tell me which is better, if you know..... the GoPro camera of the built in camera.
GoPro camera has better quality but you need extra equipment for FPV, while vision or vision+ camera had integrated FPV that can go quite far
