I’m so glad you take mature skin into account in your videos! So many creators don’t! The majority of us don’t use fillers or Botox and we want to look beautiful too!!
I came in here to say this
I swear if you taught a class I would sign up in a hot millisecond.🤯 Your energy is so infectious that my mature skin wants to try powder foundation. I'm gonna watch your video again in slomo. Thanks for the inspo!🤩
Agreed. I would go to a class in a hot minute!
I would love to go to a class!!
I love the thoroughness of your tutorials and the fact that you let people see your bare skin with imperfections Johnny. With the filter capabilities available most people who are public figures don't open themselves up to that and only show themselves in the most polished way possible. You are HONEST and don't conceal anything so that you can really help people. You're the BEST!! Love ya! 😘❤
You should've said " going a little Barbara" with the blush
❤😂❤
Exactly what I thought! 😊
I was JUST coming here to say that!😂
I was JUST coming here to say this!😂
😂😂😂😂
I love hearing you share about your bridal makeup days, especially when the mothers and grandmothers are mentioned. Your genuine interest in making these ladies look beautiful on an important day shines through. ❤
Absolutely LOVE how STUNNING the SheGlam powder foundation looks on your skin!! Thanks for doing this video for those of us who prefer a powder foundation.💖
Hi, I'm 73 and have very oily skin. After using the powder foundation applicator for several days I will get breakouts (ridiculous at my age!!) I don't like the idea of washing the applicator everyday. I have several "beauty blenders" that I rotate so that I have a clean applicator every time. If any of your followers experience breakouts as I do perhaps it won't happen if they use a clean applicator as I do. ps: your Nars/Mac stuff is hysterical!! Love watching them.
This foundation is now a holy grail as a setting powder. A little bit over foundation and I am set for the day! Amazing ! And I am 56. I love She Glam!
My 50th is just around the corner, looking at you, 2024, and I am just getting into make up. I have always worn it, but not well. I am learning so much from you and Erin Parsons! It is never too old to learn how to make your best features shine (and your not so best features look better)! Thanks for all your time and energy you put into these videos for us. BTW, I have had the same process for putting on lipstick since 1992: lip balm, lipstick, foundation powder on lips, and final layer of lipstick. It lasts forever. Now I use lipliner, too.
I use a tinted moisturizer because I don't want to hide my skin. It leaves me a little tacky, so I use a fluffy brush and I run over my face with a little powder foundation. I am 44 so I don't really know how to bronze and highlight so using a tint leaves my natural definitions to do the job. I love watching you, I learn a lot but I have never been good with art or the color wheel. Makeup is a mystery but its fun to play with! Someday Ill get those fake eyelashes on! hahahahaha xoxo love you
That's just what I do too. I use Missha bb cream (red tube) it matches my tone perfectly and looks lovely.
Oh my gosh! Same!! I can relate 100%!! Especially with those eyelashes 👀
@@spiderboo464 is your profile picture of a guinea pig?
As always love your content. Your comedy is hella funny and your how tos are so easy to follow, understand, and listen to
When I worked for Lancome in the late 80's we had Dual Finish, and I can say I love how much better these types of products work now!! Setting your creme liners with a powder was something we learned in MUA school, and it has always worked well for me...
Thank you so very much. As an older woman just learning about makeup, these help SOO much!
I so definitely needed these tips. Thank you for taking the time to make this 🙏 ❤
You are so right! I have oily skin and this has been a game changer! I even came back to this vid for refresher tips.
I stumbled onto your working at Sephora shorts and subbed - it's been a few months and I am so happy I did. Your explanations are clear, your energy is fantastic, you have _real_ skin and you aren't aiming everything to one age range (ok and your unboxings with Casey are fricking adorable) - and well done on the SheGlam I'm going to go out and get it as I've managed to grow out of my dodgy old goth need for my makeup to feel like acrylic paint... take care and as I'm convinced you have to be NJ Italian in some facet hugs from a lost distance cousin (all NJ Italians are related - if you listen to your Nonna in any case)
I’ve been using powder foundation for the past year. I’m 59, cool toned, salt and pepper hair. I underpaint some warmth with cream bronzer and blush. Stipple and brush on the powder foundation, then add a little cool toned powder blush. I never end up cakey. I like the idea of getting a shade lighter for concealer.
And the lip trick! I’ve been using dry lipsticks to keep it from bleeding into those lines.
You’re a born teacher & I’m very happy to learn from you! Thank you for taking the time to show us all the great things we can do with a powder foundation! 🤗💖😍
P.S. I think we broke their website. I can’t seem to pay for my order. 🥺
GORGEOUS!!! This video is a KEEPER!! Excellent information! I'm definitely going to try this. I can't tell you how many times my makeup starts pilling bc I've used too much moisturizer or, the wrong serum/lotion combo. THIS technique is definitely a game changer!
🥸👍👍 THANK YOU! 💖
I love this!! When you mentioned Sheglame on Sunday with Kevin, I immediately went to their website! Trying to decide on a color, and then I will order. I have mature skin, but I just love powder foundation!! Can't wait to try this one! Thank you so much for this video and the 🙌 to Wayne Goss ❤👏
PS- The lip trick is INSANE 😍
This is so helpful. I have never worn lipstick because it bleeds and looks awful. Going to try again with this powder method.
EDIT: it works!
I literally never wear makeup anymore post pandemic. But I watch these. Religiously. Just in case I ever change my mind. And because Johnny’s voice is so calming. 😅
Johnny your a magnificent teacher!!
Such an amazing video. Please continue focusing on TEACHING, you are a gifted in this department! I can never get enough of you!! Your Wayne Goss credit was so kind!! Sending you lots of love!!❤❤❤
You can just tell how genuinely passionate and energetic you are about makeup. Love your content!!
I started doing makeup in the early 90s, first with Prescriptives, then with MAC. I was all about the Studiofix foundation powder. Sometimes as a full coverage foundation. Sometimes dusted lightly over Face & Body. Always in my purse for touchups. You’re making me want to revisit, even though I’m dry and 56 years old. Haha!
My new obsession is powder foundation honestly. I’m loving the maybelline 24 hour and skin prep before is so important 😊 might have to try this sheglam powder though
I love this my mom is going to look snatched now that I have been taught by the queen of powdered foundation thank you
Johnny, you are a God-send!
You're not only extremely talented, but you're a very thorough educator. Thank you!
I’ve been wearing powder foundation the past year or two because when I say every single liquid foundation I use ends up breaking up on my extra oily skin, I’m not lyin’! Lol. If you have super oily skin and have issues with foundations separating or sinking into your pores to look like white dots, I’m telling you, you gotta try powder foundation!! Johnny, thank you so much for this video because now I’m gonna try this SheGlam one since it’s so inexpensive!! I’m a shade match with you, so thank you for that breakdown of why you got Porcelain instead of Chantilly, too, and what you used for concealer. ❤ This video is gonna help a lot of people, for sure!! 😄🙌
I love that you share information and makeup products that don’t break the bank ! Thank you ! I’m wearing sheglam setting powder you recommended and it’s a dream ❤️❤️
You look beautiful! I just found your channel and I can’t stop watching 😂. I have dry skin and I’m 27. I’m legally blind and I’m practicing on doing makeup ❣️ thank you for your tips.
Ong yes bridal makeup is the place to learn these amazing tricks to look stunning in person and in photos, I learned to do makeup on RUclips so I can do that RUclipsr picture perfect makeup but I had to really watch bridal tutorials to learn to do my makeup softer and more natural
I love that you say happy safe and healthy
Wanted to say thanks Johnny. I'm almost in my mid forties and you are helping me with my make-up routine so much - you really have no idea. Your tutorials are easy to understand, easy to follow. You use products that are easy to find and affordable and you explain why you use what you use (a sponge rather than a puff, a fluffy brush rather than a flat one etc...) You have totally changed the way I use make-up and increased my confidence 10 fold. I don't feel so old anymore!
So sincerely, thank you so much. You most certainly deserve any and all success that comes your way. 🤘💋
Great content. I'm going to try using my powder. Thank you.💕
Love a bold lip.💋
OMG! I’ve looked for how to use powder foundation for years!!! I already subscribe to B&B and when I heard you love powder foundation I had to find this video. And also love the Sheglam recommendation. I’ve gone back and forth on getting their powder foundation for ages. I 100% trust your opinions and just bought a couple shades. MWAH!!!! ❤
Thank you Johnny!! ❤
What a great video idea! 🙌🏻 learned a lot. I appreciate you 😊
I live in the UK, have just ordered the foundation, and am confident that I will be able to use it well thanks to your expert advice, Johnny!😊 Thank you x
At the age of almost 37…I’m finally starting to learn how to be a “proper” adult -as far as taking correct care of my skin and figuring out how to age my makeup with my aging/changing skin. This video was super helpful! Thank you so much! 🙏❤️
Thank you!! Your channel has made me love makeup again! You are beautiful! Wish you were in Los Angeles to fix my face. Your the only artist I would trust. Love You
Wow you do such an Amazing job Johnny. I can't wait for your next video I plan to watch them all! ❤❤
I love these longer videos!❤
I love powder foundation. I love how the cream products look underneath it. Definitely going to give that a try thank you for sharing! I love your tutorials
OMG! Thank you so much Johnny! You help me so much in my make up journey. :D
I love powder foundation, I started out with just powder as a late teen and its still my go to , to this day. I use a primer then concealer as foundation and bit of blush and set and finish with powder and my makeup lasts all night . Simple but so effective. Never realised me putting a little powder on my lips was helping keeping my lipstick in place. Now I know thanks Johnny
Yes, I already use powder foundation every day. It's so beautiful. I get compliments all the time. I love to see education about it! ❤Spread the good word!
Go Johnny Go! I use powder foundation in a light dusting and buffing over tinted mineral sunscreen. Also as a setting powder over concealer around my lips with their deep vertical lines. But I won't use SheGlam products; their record for unfair labor practices and sweatshop conditions is atrocious. Thanks for the video!
This is such a thoughtful video. I’ve never used powder foundation so this is excellent information.
I've been using powdered foundation for years. I love it!
I use both liquid and powder foundation and your 5 tips are awesome. Thanks so much. I ❤️ur channel.
This one was definitely for the intermediates transiting into pros video but dear lord do I love it so much. Can’t wait to try all these tips which no one likes giving away in the beauty industry. They gatekeep these tricks. Thank you for leading us mamma duck!!
I've been using powder foundations for 12+ years. Mineral powder foundations are my favorite. I love using it by itself or over tinted moisture or Sunscreen. Looks so flawless and natural.
Omg. I use the exact same technique you used just now whenever I do makeup before going to my workplace. I have super oily skin, so powder foundation works the best for me.
Wow #2 was truly impressive! I love the result you achieved with the powder on top of the creams. SO pretty 😍
Thank you! I am looking forward to playing with these powders!
Very nice product Johnny! They looks amazing! Thanks for all the tips! What is the name of your lipstick? They looks amazing red colour! Have a nice day and good week! 👍👏🤩🤩🤩
You’re so welcome!! ❤ it’s actually just the Colourpop Lippie Pencil (lip liner) in “I Heart This” 🔥
@@JohnnyRoss Thanks Johnny! 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you so much for all the incredible tips and tricks. As I am heading into the mature skin faze I am so thankful that I can continue to look pretty pretty darn good. Thank you you so much!!!!
I'm 62 years old, and I love watching your videos. This was great. I have been loving powder foundation for years, but mostly because I found the application to be easier and faster than liquid. And I also might have occasionally applied it in the car on the way to work. Thanks for showing us that there are more benefits than just an easier application.
🌟I loved this full tutorial! Thanks, Johnny. I think you’ve convinced me to try a powder foundation. 😘
Love this! I underpaint and use powder foundation, love these tips
I'm new to your channel and your content is so insanely helpful! I love how in-depth you are with your education. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us! 💕
Thank you for these tips! I am 60 and really needed them!
Genius as always, Mr. Johnny Ross.
Thank you, just wanna let you know we are all broken I wanna offer you that warm smile and big hug I'm 64 years old and I love your soul keep up the fantastic videos you offer 😃 ❤
Great tips! I don’t wear heavy makeup and I appreciate these tips. I’m going to use your link to go shopping right now!
ive been binging videos while at work and Im not kidding, I would pay a substantial amount of money to take a class by you and drag all my 'just getting into makeup' friends with me and we would all learn things
Thank you for this. Because I am quite fond of my freckles. I'm going to go experiment. ❤❤
I heard about your channel when watching a video from Allie Glines so I'm new to your content and I have to say I love your energy. I love powder foundation and have been using it for years. With my oily skin liquids have never worked out for me and I'm dying to try this foundation. I have mature skin and this looks light weight. Just have to pick a shade. I have never seen such an informative video for us powder foundation girlies and I thank you so much! 💋❤
Thank you for including "mature skin" in your application tips-I used powder mineral foundation for a long time - almost 20 years and all of the sudden it no longer looked good... Watching WG ( you mentioned him) gave me the knowledge to figure out what I was doing wrong - so while liquid foundation is okay for me- I am back to my powder and I am loving it!
Question- do you like WG has said, prefer powder foundation for photos and video? I think I can def see a difference in my own selfies ( a to go check my application as the mirror LIES! Photos do not!)
Anywho/ thank you X3! ❤
I have never dared to try powder foundation ❤ but you may have changed my mind
Look a lil nakey 😂😂😂 I died 💀
I am excited to try the powder foundation now. As always, thank you for being a great teacher and explaining in a way that is easily understood 💜
I underestimated powder foundation. All these years I used it only to set my face. Thanks a bunch for this v useful video!
I’m going to try these tips on my old face think you’re amazing 🤩
Hi, first time commenter here ❤ love your content and thank you so much for this. A much needed advice, and you made it look so easy you gave me confident to enjoy my make up powder.
Love from Thailand
I love watching your videos.
Omg, I'm SO glad you did this video! I've been wearing Chanel double perfection powder foundation all my life (which is now discontinued.) I have tried so many liquid foundations and I always feel like it just makes my textured skin and pores look so much worse! So I'd really like to stick with a powder foundation and I'm wondering if the one you used in this video is similar to the Chanel (which was quite full coverage.) I heard MAC Studio Fix powder is full coverage as well. I'm 41 and my skin is normal/dry combo and I'd love to get your advice on any other good powder foundations to check out and I'll definitely look into the one you used in today's video. Loved all the tips you showed today, that's going to come in handy for me for sure! 😊😘
I use SheGlam and love it. Thank you for the tips !!!!!!!!
Johnny, Johnny, johnny!!! Scott Barnes could learn a lot from you! Love the lip tip!
This was so helpful holy
Oh boy. This was really helpful. Really really helpful.
Lovely One !!! Always!!!
Everything u do is magic!
LOVED THIS!!!
A nice bold red lipstick. Looks real good on you
Omg thank you so much for all your tips and tricks!! I really appreciate it because I don't know what I'm doing most of the time😂😂
I have always loved powder foundation. It looks so natural. I have dry skin and I use a very hydrated base and a hydrating setting spray and it’s tough to tell I’m wearing anything.
@Kai Vickers Same here! I have dry skin and have been using powder foundation all my life, although it was a very full coverage one. Can I ask which base, powder foundation and setting spray you like?
@@mlisakiser3763 - For sure. Base I use a serum cocktail because I have too many wants and not enough skin followed by Derma B spf (Korean from Amazon so good!). Then after the powder I use the Peach & Lily Glass Skin spray. I’ve used nearly every powder foundation on the market and keep several for daily use.
@@kaivickers166 Awesome! Thank you so much for the info.😊
@@mlisakiser3763 - If you’d prefer a tinted sunscreen (more coverage) Brandefy has one for under $20 which is a dupe for the Elta MD.
Thank you! Thank you! I wish more of my favorite makeup content creators used powder foundation! Sometimes it's a crap shoot knowing what products will work together and how! Thank you!! 🤍
makeup is perfect as always💄💄👄👄
Omg I love sheglam too! I bought an Aloe Vera powder foundation. I’ve not tried it yet but I hope it goes well
Don’t know why, but you haven’t been showing up on my feed for awhile. Good to see you again.
I ❤you! Such great videos!
when I first bought powder foundation I was convinced I'd bought the wrong thing I assumed it was going to actually powder why in gods name I thought that but I really like it now I have dry skin and find it really comfortable nice to see a tutorial for it all other's I've seen well left me thinking it was an actual powder this today was invaluable for everybody ❤xx
I loved these tips, thank you.
I've used a mineral powder foundations for YEARS, by an Australian brand called Nude by Nature I love the whole range from the foundations to blushes to eye shadows - never disappoints! Would love to see your take on the products Johnny! And thank you for letting me know what I have been doing wrong on those days where it didn't turn out "like usual" (It's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me 😅)
I love you. Thanks for tip.
Fantastic video! I love the information and the examples of that information. Clear!
Did you use airbrush foundation in your bridal work? If so, do you have recommendations about that makeup form?
Hi I'm new to your channel and OMG you look BEAUTIFUL✨. Thanks for the tips on makeup💅.
