- On Tuesday, we’re discussing whether Megan Thee Stallion’s “SNL” message during her performance was effective, plus Twitter’s new ban on negative tweets.

The problem is... instead of receiving her MESSAGE, they chose to break down her appearance/sexuality 😒 y’all just CANNOT stand when women try to have beauty as well as brains & im tired.. Meg doesn’t need to stop twerking YOU ALL need to stop reducing women to just their looks as if they can’t be political/smart & sexual at the same time
Very well said 👏🏼
Boom 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
There it is! 👏🏼🙌🏼
That’s the problem when she decided to send her message through her sexuality. The song had nothing to do with her message. She discredited what she was saying by saying she’s a savage but then she says she wants protection. The message isn’t consistent.
YES!!!! The message was "respect and protect black women", and then some ppl decided to disregard that message and disrespect her!! Seriously??
I feel like like Loni is "her black girlfriends".💀
Yup...its really HER...lol
You know it is lol
Loni has always been like that, she always mentions both sides of opinions, this isn’t new! I’m the same way I see both sides of everything! That doesn’t mean she’s siding with the other opinions just because she wants them to understand where others are coming from!
Yes, that was her way of discussing her opinion. What "they are arguing about?" You are they sis and I agree
I think Loni was trying to get everyone’s opinion across, her friends aren’t huge celebrities to the point where if they state their opinion millions of people are gonna see and hear. Loni was just giving everyone’s opinion, as she always does.
The fact 2 months later after her incident with Tory... Meghan is STILL talking about protecting black women as well black women protecting their black Kings... should let you know something... it don’t matter what the hell is going on , at the end of the day... we need to protect each other instead of knocking each other down and doing all this foolishness because we have other people doing that! We are stronger together than we are apart!
As a black man myself. I was not ok with the whole protect black men line. That's a given as were the ones who's stories of police brutality are being put at the forefront. This was a good moment to finally just give black women that much needed respect they've deserve for always being the STRONG black women in the community and these men sitting back being complacent if not contributing to the colorism and disrespect of black women.
Exactly!!!!
Preach, and the sad part is Meg is still being harrassed, bullied, taunted, teased, called a liar and disrespected for saying Tory did this to her. She's still not believed and she's the victim. Yet she found it in herself to still make this message a priority.
@@aceee9813 yes she lost me when she started talking about black men. I just feel that she would've been harrassed even more if she hadn't mentioned yall.
@@Nam-gm9lo honestly I agree but then I like to think when she said men, that it was a blanket cover to speak about the young black men that are targeted from anywhere of 12 years old all the way up when it comes to being black even dealing with police brutality. You know?
I personally don’t see a problem with how she did it. I agree with Jeannie, the same message could be spread through rap, poetry, art, anything, and could only be picked up by different people. Even if this didn’t work for you, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work at all.
👏👏👏well said
I feel like Loni really feels that way. And is just saying she’s trying to give another side so she doesn’t have to admit it.
Same. I don’t agree with it but she should just own it. It’s her opinion and she’s allowed to have one. It’s called the real. I think she was just scared bcos all the others agreed with each other
I agree 💯💯💯
No she’s always been that way. In many topics she was always the one to say that and to me that’s just being empathetic and understanding of other people’s point of you. She also wanted to explain why they felt that way (because she didn’t finish her sentence the first time). She’s never been afraid to say what she thinks even when everybody thinks a different way. And actually, that’s exactly why she gets so much hate.
Perle des Antilles she gives the different perspective based on what she sees people saying. She loves Meagan and didn’t have a problem with her performance.
No there were women in her comments criticizing Meagan and they were black
I was thinking the same thing Adrienne said. If she didn't speak out about it at all, then she would've been scrutinized for that as well. When she does speak out, it's "why is she twerking". She can't win either way smh.
No she doesn't need to stop!!!!!!!! That is her life !!!!!!!! Leave her alone!!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Jeannie was not messing around in this segment! I clapped with everything she stood by.
Yes me too! Jeannie was going in and double downed when Loni kept going off topic of her personal view
Tbh... I hate when people say “ they’re continuing the stereotype” STOP WITH THAT BS!! Stop making other people especially celebrities to represent us every time they go out and do something... the only thing they can do is BE THEMSELVES! The same way Loni can say “ I’m not speaking for all black people” Meghan can be herself without having the weight of trying to be anything other than herself just to please other people... people are gonna have things to say about our community regardless! We can’t change people thoughts about us
Agree. Like, when a black people does something bad and other black people go "We've got to do better" like, no, THEY have to do better, they're the ones who did it. No one is indebted for another person's wrongdoing. It's gotta stop. If a black person doesn't like another black person, let it be. Doesn't have to be "black people've gotta stick together!" Individuality is something that needs to start happening amongst us and soon, because it's exhausting having the weight of our entire race on my shoulders.
@@hannahwalmer1124 YES!!!!!!! HANNAH YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 SO TRUE!!!!!!!!
@MyronnColeman AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I disagree black ppl do need to stick together we are the only race who doesn't stick together like we should . Secondly, the more money you have the more powerful and influential you. Ppl are more likely to gravitate towards and follow what their fav celeb say or feel about something which will in return will help come together as a community. Don't get me wrong we shouldn't and ultimately can't force celebs to carry us. However, they should stand up for what they believe in. we the black community coming together and standing together for whats right will not make us lose our individuality, but it will make us stronger as a community
Thankful Loni pushed a different perspective. Made for an interesting and entertaining episode!
Same, other people are offended by it, they think it’s her own opinion, when she’s just stating other opinions! If they were fans of the show they would know that she always state the other opinions!
Love Jeannie’s point. God uses all his vessels in different ways
That good
Megan Is an entertainer. She was hired to come there and do a job. She chose to use that same platform to get her message across. There is nothing wrong with it.
if someone’s hurt about megs use of platform go else where, her intentions are pure sooo 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Adriennes hair color it nice. I love brown on her.
My girl Jeannie coming through with the gems! She looks good as well 😍 I love this conversation! Black women are the most disrespected in America, it's facts. Malcolm X didn't lie 👑
Black women maybe the most disrespected but they are also the most disrespectful, js.
@Ms Soldier I’m not. Who would you consider the most disrespectful group in America?
Black women and that's final! We are the most disrespected
Melissa Litus yes the most disrespectful
jeannie hit the nail on the head when it came to meg the stallions performance .
Agree with you!!!
Jeannie looks STUNNING! Love this look.
Jeannie hit the nail right on the head with this one! As a Christian you can totally own who you are and own your sexuality. Your relationship with Christ is your own and it is between you and God, we need to stop shaming women into purity culture, remember God used the people that you least expected him to use so he will use whoever he wants to to reach different people. Well said Jeannie, well said!
Jeannie need to stope Megan is the wrong messenger for this GOD has nothing to do with being Savage,Nasty, boogie, and all these other explicit lyrics be real
She wouldn't be saying the same thing if Megan was dancing and telling everyone to vote for Trump. Let's be real....
@@Fvtt796 100% agree with you! The Lord says come as you are not stay as you are we to be like Christ like you said, be holy for i am holy.
Yes Jeannie has been on point lately I love hearing her mind speak!
Huh?
Sounds like more "part time" Christian speak.
Either pick a side and stop playing the fence. There is nothing real about these women on this show. They're pretenders.
Adrienne was right. Her first viral freestyle from a cypher YEARS ago, she was talkin nasty and dancing provocative. Her platform is authentic to her, the fact that she spoke up is all that matters.
I don’t understand who would be embarrassed by what megan did that’s her life I’m glade she used her platform to bring awareness and I agree with Adrienne if she hasn’t said anything people would have been mad smh !!!!!!
I’m sorry Loni’s right because they go through it too. People always call them “the fake”, when this show is truly representing ethnic women and what we go thru in life. Not all black women are the same so, why be offended when another woman does something you wouldn’t do? But Jeannie...yes!!!
Megan is so f**king powerful! She has been through so much and still keeps going and using her talent to spread a powerful message! 🤍
The sexual rapper image was created by men. Lil Kim tells the story about how she was abused and disrespected by the men in her camp. THEY told her to open her legs like that and be overtly sexual. Are we going to address how this imagery was created by men and is what men want to see?
Loni IS those black friends she is talking about 😂
Facts!
Loni has always been like that, she always mentions both sides of opinions, this isn’t new! I’m the same way I see both sides of everything! That doesn’t mean she’s siding with the other opinions just because she wants them to understand where others are coming from!
@@JazzyJka Yep and we extremely appreciate it..... it wouldn't be fun to hear only one side and the same perspective all the time
😊😊😅😅😄
The chemistry is not there anymore
Ofcourse it isn't. It wasn't there in sn1 but built in in time. they are human and need to adapt. It takes time
#BringTameraBack
Jeannie’s face at the end... 😂 😆 😂
Jeannie's on fire today wow
Loni just say you felt that way! Jeanie be PREACHING!!
3:02 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 yes Jeannie 💯
She did it and they still mad 😜... #respectblackwomen
Jeannie's level of wisdom is everything ❤
So true Loni we need to stop black on black women hate
I wasn't sure at first, but I LOVE the addition of Garcelle. She provides a nice addition to the show. I also like that she is confident in her views and freely shares them. Her views also come across well thought out and clear. Loni...I went to your IG, it really wasn't that serious on your IG page. *insert eyeroll*
I love Jeannie's makeup today!
I feel like Loni calling Adrienne munchkin was a little condescending. Like she’s not a child. Let her speak her opinion!!
She called her munchkin because she’s short
BritBrit Nicole- I’ve been watching the show for a long time. I know she calls her munchkin Bc she’s short but the way she said it this time during this topic felt condescending to me.
Exactly! I heard it and it is so patronizing. She is a grown woman and has valid opinions. I don’t like that
Like she’s not a child? She’s is not a child. Or are you saying, “like, she’s not a child?”
@@jonahr.1236 whatever you want it to be
PREACH JEANNIEEEEE!! A worddddd! That message wasn’t for youuuuu!!
I wish Loni would stop calling Adrienne "munchkin". She's a grown woman!
Omg I thought I was the only one who was annoyed by that! Calling her “munchkin” is so condescending and she only calls her that when she’s expressing an opposing view or trying to correct Adrienne. Not cool at all
bri nelson agreed
You do know Adrienne likes it right?
Adrienne is only called that cuz she’s short... and she doesn’t have a problem with it 💀
Myronn Coleman I get that it’s a nickname and she’s fine with it I guess lol But I feel like Loni has said it a lot this season and it comes off different for some reason🤷🏽♀️ Maybe because they are talking about more serious topics this time and it’s catching me off guard 😭
I understand wanting to be the devils advocate, but Megan has been thru so much already and STILL, she just deserves nothing but support right now. Not everything needs a “voice”!! Let the haters or conservatives or whatever express their stuff on THEIR platform!! 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Say👏🏽that👏🏽girl👏🏽! I said the same thing. Will she do the same for a racist? Not everything needs life and you summed it up perfectly!
JEANIE HAD THE FACTS IN HER HANDS YASSS
We have enough “classy” and societally accepted Black women in the world, if the conservatives, Christians or whoever want love them so much then maybe they should be making them more famous but we know who society ACTUALLY desires so let her be!!!
What is going on with loni lately? She just sits there, has no opinion. Just makes comments off Instagram or what Facebook says. Nothing else. Where’s the outspoken loni?! What is going on?
Probably because Loni has been doing research and has becoming more and more aware of the bs that she's been fed.

I take it back.
She's still ignorant like the others.
I’m a Christian Woman not dead. I love to twerk and dress modest and as a woman you’re able to do both ...flexible.
HAHAHAHAHAAH
Right. Women with no balance are always mad.
You better check yourself
Amen Hallelujah Same here I don't twerk cause I can not but I love to dress sexy and dance sexy and still hold onto my faith. And I'm right there with you @Alina Raine
A twerking Christian is like a stripping Pastor.
Stop lying to yourself.
she said it in a song "man its 2020 i ain't finna aurgue bout twerking" she has been the same she's gonna stay the same she don't have to change for NOBODY
I love that Garcelle is so supporting. Tamera would've just stayed silent because of her silent political views
The focus needs to be period Us Black folk need to start with Us!! If we bonded together like other cultures Then we wouldnt need to preach so much to other races because we would be controlling the narrative..Just a thought😔...LOVE YOU LADIES👏👏💜💞💞✌
They should be talking about Breanna Taylor....not the dancing. Helllllooooo stay focused!!!!
Why can they not talk about both?
Jeanie!! You have the depth in your mind and lay it down for us in layers with your words.
Megan gained her platform from her talent, skills, appearance, and ability. She used her platform to display a message to an audience who wouldn’t normally hear that message on a show like SNL. She could have had backlash from SNL and been banned from the show. Megan did the most with her platform. Megan and other women hip hop artists has done more than what black men in hip hop are doing for black women. Her message rang true for me. Other women artists can be political and sexy, so why can’t Megan? I’m surprised some black women were offended. The message is the message!!! The message was sent and delivered to people who wouldn’t normally hear it.
Ok I understand the meaning behind the nickname “munchkin”. But this season I see a whole new side of Adrienne who is trying to grow and learn and bring that education from her perspective to the show. This is the 4th time loni has shut down an idea of hers by saying “ no munchkin”. It’s becoming demeaning.
Very. It drives me nuts. So condescending and patronizing
Loni looks like she has been reading every neg online comments bout her and crying 😭 love u Loni breathe out the haters, love u Jeannie since how do I look 💕
I loved that show!
@@Cynisecheri me too. I've learned english watching it 😙
People are always critical of people standing up in their own individual ways, odd.
I love hearing Jeannie talk!
All of them are so educated! ❤
I LOVE Jenni Mai ! 🔥🔥👏
Jeanie is stepping up and stepping out this season. Love it! I have one gripe with Loni though... when you all are having such strong conversations it bothers me when she calls Adrienne Munchkin 🙄 it's an endearment term I get it, but it seems to cut Adrienne's point of view. Just an observation for me 🤷🏾♀️
Lonnie I haven’t heard one bad comment regarding Megs performance but ok.
You must not follow the shaderoom on IG
@@whitneyhayy right!!
That’s because it’s her feeling that she’s acting like are everyone else’s lol

I feel like Loni has been alone on her opinions recently.
Same
That was not Loni’s opinion. She was sharing the side of the opposition. Which she stated at the beginning and the end of the conversation.
Damn Jeannie , sticking up for us more than Lonnie

Loni was on Meagan’s side
Cyann Facts
Dainty Doe That was hers . People always says. My other friends when they don't want to reflect on them selves
All black people are not the same Loni. Stop speaking for the black community.
Jeannie u hit the nail on the head with this convo🙂🙂
Loni gets on my damn nerves!!!
Why???
Jeannie come thruuu sis
I'm here for Jeannie's look! YASSSS 🙌
When Loni starts off with “Some people” (usually black men or women) as the basis of her argument, it’s pretty damn obvious that it’s how she feels and she is hiding behind putting blame on others. State your opinion or find a show where you don’t talk about your views. The show is to ask about the ladies views, not social media. It’s annoying as hell. I love me some Loni but she makes it really hard to watch.
Loni has always been like that, she always mentions both sides of opinions, this isn’t new! I’m the same way I see both sides of everything! That doesn’t mean she’s siding with the other opinions just because she wants them to understand where others are coming from!
@@JazzyJka I understand if that were the case, I just don’t believe that was the case here. She typically does it in situations where she is almost pushy to express that other side. We heard it, the ladies responded, and it should’ve been left alone. She kept arguing that people felt that way. It’s not always necessary to continually express the other sides’ opinion when it’s already been responded to. I notice that she is particularly passionate on certain points of view and to me, again, the show is for us to hear their views. She can bring it up and then counter with her own opinion and I don’t feel she did a good job of that.
I am now a fan of Megan and this show. The SNL performance is the most powerful political protest statement in the history of U.S. Television. I love Megan and the fair & objective review of this show's host. I think Megan did more than Oprah, Michele and Princess Di - in one performance. She is my sister - and the hero of our decade. I love you Megan Thee Stallion. You rocked the world - and I am now behind you 100%.
Also y’all brought up Shakira and using platforms but did y’all even talk about what happened in Lebanon?
I find it funny they thought Amanda was too interested in race issues but they talk about race all the time.
I’m saying!!!!
@@mytaestylife8399 Amanda was passionate because she is unapologetically black and honest. These women want to sugar coat stuff. I think Adrienne was open and learning a lot from Amanda. But she needs to first understand Latino is not a race. And I see Jeannie talking a lot now too.
I swear Jeannie's background changes more times than I have breakfast.
The Real should just let Adrienne re-sing the theme song.
Yes Jeannie.
Lonnie, she was performing!
She knows that, she’s talking about other women
@@britbritnicole I know she was referring mostly to other women. Bottom line, she was still performing. Like Adrienne said, people will always find fault in everything whether it's positive or negative.
Loni was reading others comments and that's who she was speaking about, not her actual opinion. She's in support of Megan.
ashunt29 i agree
Jeaaaaanieeee come throughhhh
I agree with Jeanie...she hits the nail on the head. The main thing is passing your message across
These ladies are on fire with their voices and their opinions and I love it 😻
I LOVE JEANIE BUT SHE DOESN'T LET ANYONE TALK. GARCELLE TRIED TO SPEAK AND COULDN'T
Jeannie Jeannie Jeannie you spoke the TRUTH!
Yes Jeannie with the stank face 🤣
Loni whatever.🙄 Who are Loni's "black friends" & why does she surround herself with those kinds of people? You know what they say, birds of a feather...

Loni is mad because she can’t TWERK AND CAPTURE THE MASSES! Her friends wasn’t mad, but she WAS!!
Megan gave me chills ‼️❤️ I’m proud she used her platform for that
I actually understand and agree with both sides. But I’m still glad she delivered that message. That was great.
I’m sorry but I don’t get genuine from Loni. Loni gives me snake. It’s something about her. She doesn’t look like she can be trusted.
Yesssss Jeannie!!!!
If you say miss you are a hater, this performance was powerful!
Black women always saying they're strong, independent & they don't need no man. Let them protect themselves then.
The fact a Major Hip Hop Artist, Female Artist made a conscious shine on a major issue, with a Black Icon in Malcolm X is Major. The fact she did it on a show like SNL is huge. Many artist wouldn't take that on to a national show and risk pissing off their Non Black Fan Base! This is coming from a 50 year old man that grew up on Public Enemy, KRS ONE, A Tribe Called Quest, Rakim, Brand Nubians, Wu Tang Clan, Queen Latifah and MC Lyte.
Some people complain about Meagan, but won't support Rapsody or J.Cole!
I love your outfit Loni!
It's my theory that the attacks on Meg on her twerking regardless is trauma based. It's projection. It's projection from others that there's a way to be Black, there's a way to properly represent Black People. It's a weight we carry for some reason in the States. However, it's fine to let Meg, for example, represent Meg. I'm learning this myself. To allow Black people to be individuals.
Come thru Jeannie!! Yassss!
Loni is a beautiful woman
Thank you, Loni, for always bringing up the alternate viewpoint.
ugh i love Jeanie!!!!
“We need to protect black women.......now let me twerk so you can respect me”
That's what I mean.
However she likes to dance/dress does not determine how people would treat her, though?
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and like a human being
isa6bella 😂😂😂 I know you probably called a black woman at your job/church/friend/ family member a heffa once in your life.
What is so hard to understand about the fact that a woman can twerk and still be worthy of protection???
Gift Okankwu shooting pop off at a strip club you worrying about protecting the strippers or getting the hell outta there???
Great performance by Meg Thee Stallion on SNL....very respectful version of the song and her movements were toned down for the audience. Good commentary also ladies.
Beyoncé was literally half-naked at Coachella to the exact same snippet from Malcom X, proclaiming the same message, standing up for the same cause...we actually DON’T have to give light to the other side of this because the other side is usually what’s highlighted; shame and embarrassment. She had the spotlight and used it. Kudos.
I think we are okaying it cause we agree with her. If she was a Republican endorsing Trump....we would say she is misrepresenting black women.
As a Christian... there is a standard. Period.
Thanks Loni for bringing a different perspective.
There are some whores in this house ???? How can you take anyone sirious after that
