My goal is to reduce educational disparities by making education FREE.
These videos help you score extra points on medical school exams (USMLE, COMLEX, etc.)

Some videos contain mild profanity and hyperbole solely used to assist with memorization. Viewer discretion advised.
Opinions are entirely my own.
Our professor taught us this:
Type 1: bONE
Type 2: car2lage
Type 3: arte3s
Type 4: basement 4loor
I found it pretty helpful during exams, so I hope it helps you guys too!
Genious.
Thanks!
Thank you so much
thought there was 28 types
Type 1: Bone
type 2:cartwolage
type 3: arthrees
type 4:basement fourloor
A quick and dirty way to remember the collagen types is to think SCAB:
Type 1: Skeleton (bone)
Type 2: Cartilage
Type 3: Arteries (blood vessels)
Type 4: Basement membrane
This is so helpful, thank you
I love this!!!!
You could also do "I dropped my KEES (kidney, eye, ear, skin) on the Floor (Since type 4 is the floor (Basement membrane)).
That's a genius mnemonic
Hey, your videos have been an absolute lifesaver for me - curious if you have a website where you put up all your ppts? Thank you for doing what you do free of cost
I'm a simple man. I see notification from dirty. I come.
That’s what she said
Tnq man. You are doing a great job👏👏....Keep creating usmle content 🤗
Huge thanks!
Thanks a lot!
so amazingly done...thank you
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful :) to make it even greater, you could add to the type IV collagen also the lung, since a lot of research is going on there right now :)
Amazing as always
thank you !
May god bless your soul
You’re making our life much easier ❤️🙏🙏🙏
Thank you dr!!
Best vedios,👏👏👏

Thank you master
Me young jedi has learnt some more new tricks
nuclleus pulposus - looks like II / [2]
bone, cone, tendone, skin tone rhyme better - using cone instead of conea
another way to remember type 4 collagen is in the basement membrane is the think "four to the floor"
Can you make an option to do a one time donation on patreon or another platform? I love your content and want to help, but I can't commit to a monthly donation. Thank you for these videos!
Could you please make a video on collagen synthesis pathway?
one advice: higher volume, compared with others' video, urs r quite quiet. U dont need increase it when filming, just do it at last stage.
Please do a lecture on immunity
I thought that was only me!
you're perfect detail in life
Thankyou so much.. one request please put the videos for antidiabetic drugs🙏
Excellent
thanks
good job
God Bless you even a toddler"s demented mom can learn from you
thank u
anti retroviral drugs please if you can. You are amazing... thanks for all you do
for Ehlers-danlos the defect in Type III collagen is the Procollagen peptidase deficiency, so you the N terminal propeptide removal is inhibited. essentially pro collagen to tropocollagen is fucked up
Excellent, but now autocorrect really hates me 🤣
Type 2 collagen disorders are Sticklers syndrome. Not sure why people forget about Stickler’s. Having it my whole life has led to so many surgeries. It really needs to be taught in medical school and not just to Orthopedic/Ophthalmology!
OMG I LIKE YOU!!! YOU MADE BIOCHEM EASY... :)
Hope you're doing well :)
Kindly make a video on Lupus if you can... thank you...
I wanna know best foods for each or combos plz?
Type 4 collagen
At the terminal 4 of the PORT the GOOD Pasture BULLIED me !!
Just a lame one from me 🤣
I vote TWO-cleus pulposus instead of nuTWOus pulposus
please re upload your mnemonic series and breast tumor videos
Hearing *dirty nooo not type IV* on 1.5 speed is a shining light amidst step 1 dedicated's darkness
Hey just a heads up! I have hypermobile Ehlers danlos and am an MSI/I do a lot of EDS research. The Roman numeral typing system was replaced in 2017. Type IV is now vascular EDS (type III is Hypermobile). I don’t know how quickly the USMLE updates content but I imagine they wouldn’t test us on the pre2017 classification because people could argue the questions. But the new classification is easier to remember anyway!
Thank you for this. Sitting here trying to correlate this to FA
John Pruitt they likely won’t test you on any of the Ehlers danlos subtypes except for vascular type. Vascular EDS tends to have similar complications to Marfan syndrome. In fact it’s hard to distinguish them without genetic testing. I’d say the highest yield thing to know about EDS is that vascular type kills you. Median age of death is like 48. So it’s the one that’s easiest to test. (Not on boards probably but interesting facts...) type 3 collagen is made of 3 of the same alpha 1 strands (vs others like in alport where the strands are made of alpha 3,4,5 or something so just one is messed up). So when mutated the collagen giving support to the aorta and brain vessels is super weak and gives out early.
can i take all of them? 1 2 3 4
i hopeyour voice is louder, so I think I need Colagen 1
I heard more and more collagens are being discovered every day, up to 20 now
Any way to make a 1 time donation?
I believe you can sign up on Patreon, wait until they charge you once for the first payment, then cancel. I’m not a Patreon expert though so just be sure to read their fine print. either way, thanks for considering to support my channel :)
@@DirtyMedicineThat's exactly what I did on Patreon! Once I'm a doctor, I'll totally do a monthly donation haha.
Hey man, your volume is too low.
I updated the driver for the recording microphone I use, and I think it messed with my default audio settings. Will correct for the next video, thanks!
@@DirtyMedicine No prob brother! Thanks for all you do.
