I grew up on farms. I remember milking goats first, collecting eggs, and showing cattle to the milk barn! Great memories! Thank you!

Gnocchi is one of my favorite comfort foods with homemade Passata. I am both Sicilian (maternal Grandparents from Catania and Palermo) and Northern Italian (my Dad from Fubine, Piedmont) and I love to make it both ways with Ricotta and Potato. We will be having it on Christmas Eve as that is tradition for us along with the fish. Thank you for sharing your love of Gnocchi with us.

Thank you so much for your videos, they are so inspiring. I made the winter coleslaw and dressed it with my homemade blue cheese dressing and homemade bread for dinner last night. For desert I made a homemade apple crisp with apples I had canned. We eat light at night and it was perfect. Thank you

You are gifted with a poetic view of the world! Your words and indulgent yet simple! Thank you for sharing it! My son and I started a tradition of preparing gnocchi together every new years day. I honestly don’t know how we started the tradition but here we are gathering ingredients for the ninth year.

Oh my goodness!!! My husband and I were recently in Asheville, NC, eating our way through an anniversary weekend, and my favorite “starter” (Posana) was ricotta gnocchi. Coming home I immediately wanted to recreate! (Their’s was combined w/roasted tetsu squash, fennel, and sage butter.) Thank you!!!

Absolutely, one of the most beautiful videos yet 🖤 they just keep getting better and better. I love the close-ups of everything. I was wondering where you get all your beautiful cheeses... Do you order them or actually buy them from the supermarket?

Looks delish! I love gnocchi but I have to have onion and parsley in my tomato sauce and a blend of Italian spices. I also love it in pesto sauce! Yum!😋😋

I think it would be very peaceful to have silence with the light sound of you working instead of the music. From the kneading of the dough to the chopping of the garlic. Especially for longer format videos I notice people want to feel immersed in the video. Having the nice sounds of what you're doing helps with that.
Not to be to critical because I love your videos it was just a thought.

How does the ricotta gnocchi vary in texture to the potato gnocchi? Is it lighter? I've always disliked the potato style because they're so dense and heavy in my stomach.

I'm very surprised that you use a bottle sauce, and not one you made from your own garden. Isn't that why you grow vegetables for, so you can make your own sauce. The symbolic meaning of food or eating food with others is to socialize, while enjoying the flavours of homegrown cooked from scratch meals. Families finding out how their day was, friends catching up with each other,

    • @paularunyan8588

She does support other families that grow too. That does not remove any meaning.

Passatta is not like buying a jar of pre-made sauce, it’s sieved tomato purée and she’s making a homemade sauce from there! It also takes a lot of tomatoes to make that much passatta. If you’re familiar with Shaye’s preservation videos, you’d know that there are other preferred methods for the homegrown tomato harvest.

She supports another family in Sicily I believe the preserves old olive trees and presses olives right on the farm. It's really neat. They also grow and bottle other amazing foods. They have sauce like what she uses and even pasta.
