Good stuff, Steve. My problem is that Android Auto doesn't always connect and I have to go into the settings and click on Android Auto there to get a connection.

Agree. My 2023 Venza doesn't always connect automatically. I have to go through the manual steps in settings.

Thanks. Good to know that I'm not the only one.

Hey Steve, I just picked up a 2025 Camry Hybrid XSE. First time having a car with Android Auto. I have a problem accessing my USB drive with all my music from the screen. I know how to do it from the steering wheel but I have to cycle through various options that I don't use. Would it be better to turn of android auto? Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you’re trying to play from the usb, then yes, turn off Android auto. Go into the settings and enable the phone as a phone only

I have a 2021 mitsubishi outlander sport and it has android auto and so does my Samsung Galaxy a53 5g. However, I can't get my android auto to work in my vehicle. I've even tried connecting wireless with no luck. I've updated the app, I've reset the infotainment system in my vehicle also and it still won't connect. So I bought a android auto adapter and can't even get that to connect and show it on my display. For 6 months I've been trying to figure it out with no luck whatsoever. What am I doing wrong? I need some much needed assistant or suggestions on how to activate and connect with my phone.

I’m not familiar with that particular phone but not all android phones are compatible with Android Auto. If that phone has the older USB-Micro connection, it will not work. It must have the USB-C into the phone. The older ones show Android Auto but it’s a primitive version of it and it doesn’t work on modern cars.
If that doesn’t answer it, find somebody else with a different Android phone and see if it will connect. If it does, then it definitely is a phone issue

My phone is a 2023 and it does have the USB-C. I searched the year and model of my car asking if it's equipped with the android auto feature. The results was the same, yes it comes standard with android auto capabilities. I took it to the dealership to ask the salesman that sold me the vehicle could show me how it worked. He wasn't working there anymore therefore, another salesman offered to assist me. His cord wasn't activating either which baffled him. Through the car settings he clicked on reset all which caused the android auto was removed from the car's system. He left me hanging because he didn't know why it was removed. After that I spent 2 months searching how to add android auto featured back into the card system. Reset the infotainment system by unplugging fuse and plugging I back to. Resetting it worked, however it still won't connect with my phone. The android auto adapter I purchased won't connect either?
