Thanks Steve. Once you change the Vehicle Settings like you showed, are they saved persistently? I am considering buying a new Land Cruiser..and just recently drove a different high-end make/model hybrid with the most annoying driver assist warnings/alerts AND the settings were not persistent. Literally every time you started the vehicle up, you had to go hunt down the settings and turn them off. Thankfully it was only a rental for a week! Would never want to own something like that.

Is this something Toyota installed at the factory or at the dealership? Is this different than KARR security system?

Sales guy told me there was no alarm and no immobilizer on my 2025 Camry, that I needed to pay to have one installed. I said that sounds like a lie, he was very insistent it was not. Great to know I’m not crazy.

Connected my Rav4 and car to the app when it was new. My subscription expired for remote connect but recently decided to resubscribe and can not get the QR code or standard code to pop up to connect. Just keeps spinning. Tried to do your trick with using a guest driver and it doesn’t allow me to add a guest driver. Help would be awesome

Sensors just ruined an entire camping trip so it's disturbing how overly sensitive these spastic alarms. It always brakes when IT SHOULD NOT 7 almost caused an accident. Pre-collison sensors is ridiculously retarded and all these sensors go bad & always need replacing. All they do is ruin road trips/camping and cost ALOT of money having to mess around with dealership. You are not correct, no matter how light or soon you brake it all acts up. It all goes haywire and not good at all and is extremely distressing when you can't go to a car wash without knowing ghow to disable anything. THESE SENSORS ARE VERY STUPID! tell me how you can use the all wheel drive when sensors aren't even allowed to get dirty or they SPAZ OUT MAJORLY FOR NO REASON!

Hi Steve, are you please aware about this strange behaviour... ? while navigating with the integrated Toyota Navigation system (on new 2024 Toyotas) : when approaching a roundabout, it says "third exit" instead of "first exit".... which would be Ok for an English driver in the UK :-) ! Great video! Thank you sir! However, I have a question. We have a 2024 Highlander. Had the car about six weeks. Just last night we noticed the security indicator red light was blinking. All of a sudden it started blinking when the car was off, but we never saw that feature prior to yesterday. Is there a way I can disable that ? I also do not have an alarm system on the car

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've owned a 2023 Highlander Hybrid for almost year. Have read and reread the 500+ page owner's manual, to no avail. Finally this video showed me how to change things. It may be the least intuitive thing anyone, not just Toyota, ever came up with. But now I know how, finally. Thanks!

I saw this Yesterday in a family's car. Toyota is on my ban list due to purposely making shitty menus and stupid things like rear seatbelt needing to be attached with no one in the car. My have this company gone down.

This is not necessarily true. My 2024 Tacoma locks its own front doors when I leave it alone. It lockes whether the key is in the truck or in my pocket. Funny, but it only locks the front two doors. So I have to crawl in the back door and search for my key in the console. I don't want the truck to ever lock automatically. Anyone have advice?

Steve, almost no dealers take the time (or have the time) to help buyers navigate the often complex procedures necessary for managing and applying the various tech assist features on today's new cars. This is a huge problem for manufacturers. I'm going to pursue it with my Washington contacts... Let me know if you wanna help....

Steve, I just bought that car... the exact one in your video. And my other car is a Porsche! I think that says a lot for my reaction to the new Toyota SE. But... the electronics are SO sophisticated, that non tech savvy like me are still having issues understanding how to use all the electronics. It might make sense for Toyota to have a full time "instructor" in all dealerships!

The new 2025 Toyotas are electronic marvels. But most dealers don't have the time (or knowledgeable staff) to adequately instruct new owners on how to use the features. Steve is doing his best to correct this problem and I'm grateful!
