Here is the basic take from this video: Select the faces you want to crease (or create them with a beveled edge) ,go to sculpt mode, go Face set from edit mode selection, select the cloth filter, change the tool settings to include face sets, then use the inflate/deflate function on the face set and mesh in an alternating fashion
WOWOWOWOW this is simpl outstanding !! ! ! ! I am puting this into my favorite videos ! thanks for sharing this super great tecnique ! it is so incredible to have such an advanced real time cloth painting simulation like that all for free and built in Blender....what an awesome free program that is ! thanks to Ton !
At 9min34, for some reason, once I apply the bevel, The selection isn't on the beveled area, but rather all my faces, which is a struggle after I hit ok, since I've got to deselect manually every face, is there a command to avoid that ?
9:09 Use crosscut (value 10) > use inset faces > Un-Subdivide > Then only the top and bottom layers get the video effect, and the middle becomes a grid of 5 layers of annular squares
i did the same things told, but when I hover on face set meant for the filter, I can't inflate the mesh like you do proportionally. i have to click on the different parts.
when i click ctrl+alt+w , it gets deselected and when i try to inflate , the whole cylinder inflates , im super stuck PS- Nevermind i figured out , didnt apply the subdivide before inflating , thank you blender god
Hey I did the tutorial and I really like them but for some reason that I just can comprehend I can't seem to be able to do show the first cylinder's Face Set, when I try to do the Face Set from Edit Mode Selection, no matter how many times I try to do them. Same for the very last one with the cube but instead becomes one color instead. Got any clues how to fix it? All the others seem to work and I looked around for any solutions on the net too.
Ctrl-r and move mouse over edge to activate. Roll mouse wheel to get more loops. Click once to add edge loop. Click again to finalise the location of the loops after moving the loop with the mouse..

I didn't know padded cloth could be this easy. Thank you, I really needed a quick way to get that look.
This blew my mind and will make my work so much easier!! Thank you!!!
For the second object, you can just create a circle with a fan fill instead of creating a cylinder.
A clean unpersonalized tut. Very good
so smooth and good work on blender
Best tutorial I’ve seen in years. Thank you.
This is absolutely stunning, and so useful. thanks so much for sharing. Im a fan

how to get all the faces like in the video?
This is very clever, nice showcase! :)
This is some great work and a very useful tutorial. But...it looks more like a Leather filter than cloth...
I was not able to set up the mirror modifier like you did not the first chair
Wow!! You are super! Thanks much
Anyone else actually followed this tutorial step by step? Some steps are not properly narrated and I have no idea what this guy did in the program.
tbh this is a pretty mediocre tutorial for beginners
No video is so fast and easy
Amazing…..

i did the same things told, but when I hover on face set meant for the filter, I can't inflate the mesh like you do proportionally. i have to click on the different parts.

Thank you!
Thank you for this!
how can i create the polygroup?
This is amazing, but I can't get it to work for me. My object just floats away when I try to use the cloth filter. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
activate face sets and change filter type on "inflate"
@@Xmaiter3D Yes, face sets are checked. I'm not sure why my face sets aren't holding the object in place. Maybe it's a bug on my end.
You need to apply the subdivision modifier before inflate the object
@@carinemoreira230 Oh thanks, it was my mistake too !
@@carinemoreira230 I tried that and it isnt working.
Superior tutorial! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
Thank thank thank thank thank thank thankkkkkkk youuuuu

I am having a difficult time geting anyting to work properly in 2.93. Is anyone else having problems
Please continue making videos.
It is really helpful.
I don't understand what happens after 1:55. None of the edges I bevelled appear yellow after I press Face Sets.
press again and the color will change to random
11:22 this is magic!))
You are amazing!! Thanks
You lost me at the origins thing and then snapping the duplicates together, still cool stuff though, thanks!
Thank you for the tutorial!
What is ctrl+alt+w and ctrl+w doing exactly?
Face sets>grow face set(shrink face set)
I dont get the "cloth filter" option after activating sculpting in blender 4.1, what should i do?
this tutorial was created in blender version 2.91
It affects the selected edges (the one you bevelled) by shrinking the selection.
i did the steps but it dosent work i need help. version: 2.91
it's possible to make polygroup from image mask?
when i click ctrl+alt+w , it gets deselected and when i try to inflate , the whole cylinder inflates , im super stuck

verry very good
This is cool, but why are you so allergic to hotkeys?
😂😂😂 ik ❤❤❤
Really Awesome!!!!!!
How would you convert this to low poly?
😁thx
Thanks for sharing!
For some reason when I try this, the inflate creates flat faces, and does not have the rounded features that yours do. Any ideas what is going wrong?
Please, show the screenshot.
4:23 i can't make this step, snapping occurs in half way on edge not in vertex, idk why..
move origin to vertex with snap, activate snap mode "active", dublicate mesh>CTRL and move mesh to vertex
@@Xmaiter3D Thanks, active mode is an answear, clesest mode by default doesn't work.
How you do edge loops in 1:00

Nice tutorial, thanks ! :) Just a little question : How you get this interface ? it's more usefull with small icons !
Did not understand. What icons are you asking about?
12:28 how to did it?!
Which site download cloth filter add-on
it is not an addon, it is a standard function.
Who create the polygroup ? 🤔
sculpt mode>face sets>face sets from edit mode selection(this is analogue of polygroup)
