    I spend a lot of time on Google Earth searching for abandoned structures. I seen this large building so I had to mark it on my map and take a closer look. This structure was designed to be completely offgrid a Self-Sufficient home. It was built in 1985 by a very smart man. He had great vision and ideas for the amazing structure. The walls are 1 foot thick, 4000psi of reinforced concrete tied into the granite bedrock. It was secured into the bedrock with dowel pins every 5 feet. The owner/builder said nothing would move this house not even an atomic blast. He said it was built like the pyramids to last forever. Sadly he passed away and the house was not finished. I hope one day someone will finish this house and enjoy the nature surrounding this place.

    The wall you walk out on is probably meant to function as a thermal heat storage, google earth-house, there they have a heart wall that is heated by the sun during the day to emit the heat at night into the house, the pipes you see in the ground floor can even be intended to circulate the air from the heating battery out into the house, 20:30 into the movie you pass that "room", it is south facing?
    It was probably intended as a greenhouse to be able to grow your own vegetables and provide heat to the house.
    What an incredibly nice house this could be
    Nicely filmed

    • @PaulDMcK
      @PaulDMcK Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, It looks like the foundations for a greenhouse with a trombe wall, and I suspect the other level space with two open sides was as well - the bulk of the little out-building would make sense as a foundation for spanning girders.

    The beauty about places like this is, you get to imagine what it was suppose to look like, what it might have been like and what it is now, ..Why would anyone want to build there?,..why not?, if you have the means to do so and the desire to make it happen, go for it...Too bad this one didn't make it into fruition...it would of been epic, but for whatever reason, besides the obvious financial reason. Maybe the dream was bigger than the wallet...possibly?...either way THIS was an epic find! THANK YOU for taking my imagination on another journey into the past.👍👍👍👍👍
