- I’m making a batch of 25 marionette carving kits and it’s an enormous amount of work. I have to hand-make over 3,000 parts!
This is just one part, a wooden tube which is part of the control.
I’ll have more videos of my process soon.
For now I’m working like crazy since these ship on the 15th of April.
Thanks to my Patrons, many of whom will be getting one of these kits in the mail. - Кино
That chuck is a gorgeous hunk of machinery. Hits me in my soft spot for conglomerations of fiddly bits.
crankin it out! agree that rig is badass.
Thanks! Having two Morris Taper drill chucks helps speed things up.
Such a skilled human 🙌
Geahk, I am in the midst of creating my first marionette. She’s a Belly Dancer, and I’m having trouble finding the ideal controller and stringing scheme to get the most from her. Do you know of any site or video that would help me find the best solution?
I have a pattern on my website, geahk.art which is a good starting point. I believe it will work great for a belly dancer as it includes a hip-shaker control. You’ll also find free patterns on my Facebook page. Search for CastIron Carousel and look in the photos section for an album labeled ‘Marionette making resources’. Feel free to contact me through my website if you have questions.
Geahk, thank you so much! Your control bar is perfect. Instead of wood, I’m working on converting your diagram to a 3D printable file. If your interested, I can send you back the files for your own use.
Your work is fantastic! That Kangaroo is impeccable.
