Coney Island Dante's Inferno Ride-Through, 2005

- Nick Mancini recorded this ride through of Dante's Inferno in the summer of 2005. This ride was located in Coney Island, NY until it was dismantled and put into storage when Astroland Amusement Park closed after the 2008 season. A similar attraction is still operating on Morey's Pier in Wildwood, NJ.
One of the most iconic rides that ever existed in Coney Island. Yes, the Dante's Inferno ride was in storage after Astroland has concluded. However, the ride has surfaced again and was sold on the Facebook marketplace this past year to a collector. I own a part from this ride, which is one of the Dante Inferno cars as well as a few other Astroland memorabilia's. Some parts from this ride were parted out recently. Great to see a video of Dante's Inferno again.
This ride is literally responsible for why I was always scared to go on scary rides throughout my childhood but I miss it so much 😩
Looking at this now it was so cheesy but awesome to watch lol. As a kid i was terrified of this to where i didnt even want to walk past it. The demon pulling the tongue and the screams stood out so much.
I miss Dante's Inferno. It was the ride I looked forward to going on whenever I went to Coney Island.

The fire extinguisher at the start was a great piece of irony
I miss this ride. I use to ride it around 2003-2004 and I would be scared of that gorilla at the end. The whole vibe cannot be recreated and the spook-a-rama that is there now does not compare. Dante's inferno even had a distinct smell to it that I can vaguely remember til this day!

This makes me miss the old dante's inferno at money's pier, and when I rode it in 2015, after it's refurbishment into dante's dungeon it was mostly dark,

It's no longer there...so if you want to experience something similar you will have to travel to Wildwood NJ.

But I was referring to the old Coney Island Spook A Rama with the Cyclops Twins Waterfall and Laurel and Hardy Entrance.
