😊🙏 Peranakan heritage originated from Admiral Cheng Ho Middle Kingdom China Chinese that sent by the Emperor of that Dynasty to send gifts to the Sultan of Malacca of that time period. Many of these entourage stayed in Malacca accompanied the Imperial Officials & families & they over the centuries had mixed into these unique Malay-Chinese culture & heritage we called Peranakan today in Malaysia & Singapore! Many Peranakan families worked for the government of Malaya back then , hence many of these Peranakan families came from the more educated & higher ranking society until today ... Rice dumplings evolved into many forms over the decades , prefer the vegetarian ones with Yellow Beans , Chestnuts , Mushrooms & some with salted eggs! Meat & dried prawns ones can triggered gout for many who are intolerant to uric acid! 🙏 Thank You So Much CNA for the illumination & for sharing! 🌷🌿🌏✌💜🕊🇲🇾🇸🇬

To cater to wealthy younger generations that dislike the mess, sticky fingers and hassle of needing to finger yoga to untie the string and needing to navigate the complicated folding mechanism of the overlapping dumpling leaves structure (deterring factor for foreigners).
