  • UPDATE! As of July 13th, 2020, it appears the 80/20 eBay store has been closed down. Not sure if/when that will reopen, but the link is still below if you want to check, and their stuff is still for sale on their main website too.
Upshot: They clear out their overstocks, you save some money, everybody wins.
    Here's their store on eBay:
    www.ebay.com/usr/8020inc
And here's their online store, if you want to price compare:
    8020.net/
You're basically going to save enough to cancel out shipping, taxes, and then some. Don't buy the ones that have shipping included - get all the items in your cart, and then request a bulk shipping quote. Part of that process does mean committing to buy the items, but you know the shipping is going to be significantly less than the individual quotes you see initially.
If you're curious, here's the full build series on the CNC plasma:

Yeah, I got a marketing postcard from them two days ago about that, and pointing me to their site for future orders. There's a note on the eBay store says it closed July 13th. Neither says why.
45k pieces of buyer feedback left since 2004. Very strange to shut that down.
Maybe the deals were too good? lol

This profiles good only for CNC model.
60x60, or 80x80 is the best choice for CNC machine. With thik walls.

I'm not sure I'm following you. The 80/20 Inc store sells larger metric profiles as well, if that's what you're after.
In my case, for the plasma cutter and laser cutter, these profiles should be amply stiff, and still sufficiently light to accelerate well. For the router mill I have planned, these won't be ideal, but they should still be good enough. I'm only going to build a very small machine for milling aluminum parts, so there won't be any long beams that are prone to deflection.

      @@swolebro I'm about metric.
Here is a good model for the cnc router with 80x80mm profile. Good for aluminium. Work space 300x200x100mm

I think I know a source that can be equivalent or cheaper. Follow my calculations or skip to the bottom.
40 Feet is about 12.2 Meters.
    1.5 by 3.0 inches is equivalent to a 40 by 80mm profile.
For standard length Motedis sells them across a large part of the world for 15.7€/m excluding shipping and taxes.
So for a pack of 13 one meters 4080 extrusion that's 205€. I add to that 48€ of taxes (20% VAT) and 36€ of shipping to France.
For the same style of aluminum extrusion, the grand total is 290€ witch is roughly 315$.
    Keep in mind:
    - Longer extrusion chunks can increase the shipping fees
    - Motedis does not follow the DIN EN12020 standard and so does not garantie the straightness and flatness of their profiles.
    - I haven't taken the time to add the one 40 by 120mm extrusion you've got. Since they are 26€/m this should add more or less 10 to 25€ to the bill.
    - You can do a one of order for your frame since they have a lot of corners brackets, screws, t nuts and hardware in general.
That's it, I hope it will help someone !

I hadn't heard of Motedis before. I took a look at their website, and I'm not sure you're making a fair comparison. The Motedis "40x80L I-type slot 8" you're referring to looks like a clone of the 80/20 "ultra lite" profiles, which I didn't purchase any of. Most of mine was the standard profile, with the yellow ones being "lite" profiles. I probably could have saved some more money going for ultra lite, but I wanted the heavier materials.
So, if you factor in that, the oddball piece of 1545 I ordered, and the reduced shipping from buying lighter profiles... the Motedis price difference is probably closer to $30-50. That's something, but I'll happily pay that premium in order to support an American company. Granted, I'm American, and I'm assuming you're from Europe, but I think we'd all be better off if we tried sourcing less stuff from straight out of China. (I didn't see Motedis talk about their manufacturing process at all, so I'm assuming that they are simply reselling for a Chinese factory.)
80/20 Inc does also stock the brackets, hardware, etc. I just put off buying them since I need to finalize my plans first, and also see what I can fabricate myself. Since I've already got a halfway-decent plasma cutter, brackets are a piece of cake.
