There’s no other running back who can brush off tacklers better than Barry Sanders
Jim Brown, Mike Alstott, Marshawn Lynch, Walter Payton, Adrian Peterson
@@christwarrior8501 Great running backs, but Barry was still the best.
@@usnairframer He said no one was better than brushing off tackles than Barry Sanders, which is wrong. And if you’re referring to best running back, that’s Walter Payton.
@@christwarrior8501 Barry Sanders was unequivocally the best. Walter Payton was great, but Sanders was objectively better in essentially every way. He simply didn't play as long. Sanders wasn't a power back, but people consistently had hands on him and couldn't bring him down.
@@usnairframer Walter Payton did more with less in a tougher game. Payton had to run for his life and would run through opponents effortlessly. The only traits Sanders has better than Payton are elusiveness and speed, every thing else goes to Payton. Walter Payton is the toughest and greatest running back to step on the field. There's no one who compares to Payton, no one who rivals the heart he had. Defenders would try everything they could to stop Payton but couldn't.
There's only a few guys you can say with confidence are the 🐐's of their respective positions in sports and Barry Sanders is certainly one of them. What a legend
I finally live in a world where the Lions are dominating the NFC North while the Packers and Partriots are falling apart
I still can’t believe it
The trade for Jared Goff wasn't that bad after all. Not to mention the Lions finally have great players at almost every position instead of just a few.
If we would go back to the younger versions of ourselves to say what you just did. I think we would all just cry 😂.
I recall when the Patriots were awful. Knowing what you know maybe better to focus on what you can control and build in your life. NFL is fun but ultimately not much different than playing video games. The effects on your life are to subtract time.
1991 seems so long ago now.
Pretty impressive to be 4-5 at week 5
They made the playoffs that year and lost to the Packers 16-12
Back when they didn't baby quarterbacks. This was football. Unfortunately, Barry didn't have much of a team around him. That man was phenomenal.
Detroit had two generational talents in Barry and Megatron. They could never get over the hump.
I love how NFL throwback posts throwbacks of games that match upcoming matchups of the week. It helps build up hype.
Dude couple weeks ago i watched the ol LOB game vs giants and later that night seattle went off for 11 sacks and 3 picks😂
Barry was incredible, no doubt, but the Lions had some talent in the 90s outside of him with guys like Moore, Spielman, Porcher etc. Just never had a quarterback
Sanders set records for rushing more than 1,000 yards in 10 straight seasons, for rushing 1,500 yards or more in 5 different seasons (and the first to do so in 4 consecutive seasons), and for rushing more than 100 yards in 14 consecutive game. He always carried them
I don't know if I'd say single handedly. The D showed up hard, and that passing game put in some work, too.
Barry's 200 yard 2nd half was the culmination of one of the great Sundays in NFL history
all but 1 Sunday game was decided by a touchdown or less which included Drew Bledsoe's historic 45 completions on 70 attempts in a 20-0 comeback OT win, a huge Chargers/Chiefs AFC West showdown, a thrilling Falcons/Saints shootout, the Bears upset win in Miami, and the Cowboys/49ers clash of the titans.
Barry the Lion King 👑🦁
The Lions Defense called, asking "Did you not see us holding TB to 3 points in the first half?"
You're right, but it's also the bucs in the 90s and they never scored a lot.
Those creamsicle uniforms... can't wait to see them come back this season.
Would love to c the creamsicle pants w the white tops come back, those joints r clean
they're coming back on this sunday lions vs buccs game. i think they wore them two weeks ago as well
@@raccoonmoder Are you talking about the Eagles game?
What a cool uniform game. I can’t wait to watch this matchup on Sunday.
Lomas Brown was asked, was the Seattle game this year the loudest he’s ever heard at a home game. He replied that the Silverdome was even louder in the 90s. As you can hear the crowd, he’s right! Lol
Kinda looks like the Defense helped too. No doubt he’s one of the best to ever do it. Unmatched agility and acceleration!
See Barry sanders was a game changer
Barry being Barry
This is gonna be one interesting matchup…
5:57 and 8:43 Wow. Breaking tackles and so explosive.
9:25 "Barry has never had the passing game to complement his running. Never had the great offensive line."
How much better, do you think, Barry's numbers would be if he was playing behind the current Lions O-Line?
@@HughHarding46 Hell ya. Not just that. With Goff's arm, no team could 8 or 9 man box him. Can u imagine? LOL
No one can or will ever be able to change direction and explode the way Barry could. His jukes were so beautiful, and his ability to get up to speed so quickly would leave guys confused as to where he even was, had his poster on my wall as a teenager, wish I still had that poster.
The 1994 Dave Krieg was one of the best QBs the 90s Lions had, if only for part of the season. That QB really traveled around the league once he left Seattle!
Now they facing in playoffs
Those Buccaneers uniforms were a thing of beauty. That shade of orange was so unique
The Player Audio sounding like Tecmo Superbowl on SNES great memories. Wish Barry Sanders could have won a Super Bowl such an elusive runner
Greatest to ever run the ball!
NFL Throwback is spoiling us with their amazing classic game highlights EVERY DAY! KEEP EM COMING @NFLVault
Imagine what Barry's record would have been if he played longer...let's say 7-10 year's...🤯
He would have CTE for a record everyone knows belongs to him.
In the open field they had to horse collar this man to keep him from scoring. Barry would average 3,000 on todays NFL.
6:25 Dude gets his first touchdown in the NFL and he can't even celebrate it because he was injured in the process.
...That about sums up the Lions' entire Superbowl Era.
Hopefully they're turning it around for good this year to some degree.
imagine what Barry in his prime could do with the O Line the Lions have now... 3k yards
Had no idea ESPN owned Sunday Night Football before NBC. Thats really cool
I’ve been waiting too long to see both of these teams to go back to these unis.
Barry Sanders is one of the greatest players to ever play the game
Just as amazing as Barry's career is that he walked away with his health intact, and has never sought the spotlight since.
Your Videos 📸 Never Disappoint Me NFL Throwback Keep Up The Good Work
People forget the Lions had other weapons on offense beside Barry. Brett Perriman and Herman Moore was very good receivers.
Funny to see Martin Mayhew and John Lynch trying to tackle Barry. Now they are in GMs in the NFL
Expecting a Lions win on the road against these same Buccaneers and their same jerseys so fitting going into week 6 2023.
Barry did this virtually every week. Week after week. His entire career. He was unstoppable
This game was in week 11 of '94 season.
There will never be another RB like Barry Sanders! ❤
ESPN Sunday Night Football! Gotta love Mike Patrick and this era of SNF, so underrated
Him and Theisman were so smooth together.
This wasn't week 5, this was week 11. The Lions lost to the Buccaneers 24-14 in week 5.
That also was the first punt return for a TD in Bucs history
Barry moves like he got on the cheat codes! :)
*Used to love ERRICT RHETT* he had a big rookie year in 1994
That's true, I remember him being touted as the next great running back
@@bobbypadia2933 his 2nd year was even better, good times
I think this was week 10. My God those bucs jerseys were majestic
Not sure he "single-handedly" led them to a win but damn could he break a game open.
As a Buccaneers fan you are going to have to be more specific. That could describe almost any game Barry Sanders played against the Buccaneers.
My GOAT! 🐐
Those old Tampa Bay uniforms are 🔥. I hope eventually alot of teams like Tampa, Rams, Titans/Oilers, Eagles, Falcons, Dolphins, Cardinals and a few others will change back to their old school better looking uniforms
Unfortunately, the Bucs' record is terrible in the creamsicles.
What’s the most amazing thing about this is Barry Sanders career was done on painted concrete. That turf was horrendous.
Love those old school Bucs unis!!
can we talk about those two goal line stands by the Lions Defense in the first half?
Imagine if you will Barry on Dallas or Barry on the then St. Louis Rams, when they had the Greatest Show on Turf. Unstoppable
I miss Barry Sanders playing in the NFL they ran with the ball taken a 5 loss a making a long run
Never knew the bucs old uniforms included orange pants. Legit the time I've seen that
everyone was so big and strong. even the receivers are huge and yoked
Bigger shoulder pads
First half they hardly used Barry, was expecting all Barry highlights. My god who calls a draw play on 4th and 2 at goal, terrible playing calling. Lions didnt know how to fully use Barry Sanders. If he was on a better team, Sanders wouldve broken so many more records. Imagine him on the 49ers with Jerry Rice.
Buccs need to bring these unis back full time. Clean and classic.
Everyone has to remember, the NUMBER ONE priority of the opposing defense was to stop Barry - multiple defenders having that assignment and they still didn't come close. He did this to everyone.
235 yards and 0 touchdowns! Wow!
Barry is the only back that could run 15 yards backwards and turn it into a 60 yard gain, consistently
real TV footage of Barry running is much better than the slow-mo NFL Films footage of Barry
slow-mo stuff is very cinematic, but the TV footage is like holy shit a guy really did that in real life
8:42 John Lynch gets that work lol
Just out of curiosity, why is it that the only players that can bring Barry Sanders down are ones who would have future connections to the Lions?
(ex: Aaron Glenn, Martin Mayhew)
I guess it goes to show how GREAT Barry Sanders was/is!!! 🙂
What's wrong with the ESPN audio? All the signals and crowd noise is amplified.
8:53 Odd to see what would become one of our future GM tackling Sanders
Record day for Bledsoe😎
Both these franchises need to bring back these uniforms.
according to some sources, this game was in week 11, not in week 5
Repeat of this tomorrow?!?!
funny.....video is about Barry and yet it takes until 4:20 in until we see a Barry Sanders run
Because he did most of his damage in the 2nd half.
This is week 11 not week 5 correction
Those Bucs creamsicle uni’s are fire
Barry’s offensive line was BAD but look at his wide receivers blocking downfield set up the angles properly block properly. Barry gets past the first wave with 4 broken tackles and then he’s clear because WRs block
And this year, the Lions traveled to Tampa Bay and dismembered the Bucs as a team. I’ll take today with the Lions at their best since the Fords bought the team in 1958. Go Lions!
Barry must've looked at the Bucs on the calendar each year and just mentally chalked up another 200 yards. Two times when they were in the division.
Barry Sanders Is A True Detroit Lions🦁💙🩶Legend
This is week #11
Players who hit the turf hard come up looking like they just hit a concrete wall
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Against Detroit Lions NFC Central Division Rivalry From 1976 To 1993 By The Way Cursed Of Doug Williams The Yucks Only 45 Wins From 1983 To 1993 Thanks For Uploading
Why Capitalize Every Word For No Reason
An astonishing amount of the wins from 1983 to 1994 were against Detroit Lions.
Defence played good tho 🤷🏽 and I saw at least 2 clutch pass/reception (the bomb and the TD) #20 def MVP
I always found it frustrating the Lions would take Barry out on goal line situations.
It's too bad the Lion organization couldn't get Barry a consistently good offensive line and QB. His career numbers would've been even better if they did and he might have stuck around longer.
I miss the pontiac silverdome 😔
Damn John Lynch… another one!?!?
Banner days! Did you see the Blades?
Barry owned the Bucs
MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE NFL 🏈 RBS: JIM BROWN#32 .. BARRY SANDERS#20 .. WALTER PAYTON#34 .. ERIC DICKERSON#29 ..
Imagine, just for a moment, if Sanders had a league top three D on his side. Five rings?
Kreg had a cannon
I think you need to look up the term single-handedly.
230 yards rushing. 14 points.
He was doing this on turf that looks impossible to play on
Hardy Nickerson tried to intimidate barry the whole game but barely laid a glove on him
The players sound like tecmo bowl😂
Philly would have a collapse in the 2nd half of the year and miss the playoffs. Detroit, Chicago, and Green Bay ended up being Wildcard teams in '94.
THIS VIDEO DO NOT MATCH THE TITLE… “BARRY SINGLE HANDEDLY CARRY THE LIONS”… THE WHOLE TEAM WAS PUTTING IN WORK.
I was at this game. He didn't score a TD in this game.........
16 carries 200 yards...
In the second half...
