The sound of a REAL mack!!!.........beautiful truck but.......hope the guy doesn't drive it hard like that all the time...sure seamed like he was in a heck of a rush to get out of there.
Mack did get engine technology from Scania, but the Lanova was not made by Scania. Lanova was a separate company who designed a proprietary head, injection system and nozzels. The Mack-Lanova was an indirect injection design, the 672 (not sure if it was called the thermodyne yet). Then Mack obtained the Scania direct injection technology which went into the 673 Thermodyne, new heads and injection system. Lanova also worked with a few other diesel engine makers at the time, including Buda.
