I like seeing from the driving position ! I've driven in Australia a few times. Being from the states I thighs it would be tougher than it actually was . The most trouble I had was shifting manual . Since the gear pattern is the same as here but sitting on the opposite side means the lowest gears are away from the driver. That gave me the biggest issue . And my hire vehicle had the Indicators on the right . I couldn't tell you how many times I switched on the windscreen wipers while trying to indicate . 😊 🌵
Mate she sounds Sweet miss the old v8 Macks and Cats the Road looks better than the Dukes highway at the moment least you got patches on potholes .really enjoy the old trucks there from my era I'm 65 now and drove and grew up with them ,it was kenworth or MACK in my youth I remember as a kid a guy in and old MACK telling me if you fell over inside you would kill yourself all steel ,he was driving for Mansell,in the early 70,s to oil fields I remember the launch of the Ford LNT 9000 with the 903 Cummins king of the highway at the time 300HP dare to dream ,yep good times love the channel Kym Adelaide
Thanks for watching and commenting Kym, and thanks for a snippet into your history. Most of the old trucks and engines of all manufacturers had a bit of character. They all had their own sound. I’m lucky I get to have a bit of a muck around with these old things while still using them for work.
Lovely sound as you went through that junction and picked up speed going up through the box mate. Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) more, thanks again for the ride along. Cheers, Norm.
I haven’t been on that one, but did a few roads around that area early last year and they were a bit rough. Quite a few of the roads in Qld black soil seem pretty ordinary
The Ultraliner was a truck well before it’s time. It’s a pity Mack was taken over by 2 companies that had their own cabover range and had no interest in keeping the Ultraliner going. They would’ve been a good B double truck with a Cat, Cummins or Detroit after the V8 was finished.
@@oldrigsdownunder7301 No plans yet, but telling my self no later than my 70th birthday. That would make it in the next 2 years. I waited 50 years for my Cat 60 to run and I’ve had Australia on my mind for 50 years so it’s about time.
@@oldrigsdownunder7301 it's on my bucket list to go to Australia and drive big trucks because I have grown up around them and always liked the Aussie style trucks and love the way you guys drive on what I call the wrong side of the road
I don't know but it gives me relaxation and calm to see how you drive, it's like visual therapy. ❤

Good drive, Dave - thanks. Love that V8.
Thanks Russell, it thumps along alright 😇
She sounds great, a beautiful truck, keep her going 👍
Thanks mate. It’s a bit quiet for a straight piped V8, but it still has a nice note

Thanks Norm. I was happy with how the sound came through the microphone actually, it gets a nice rumble up.
Thanks again mate 🙏🏻
Sounds marvelous glad to see the roads are normal. Worse " road" in Australia would have to be the Dawson Highway from Rolleston to Springsure.

@@oldrigsdownunder7301 love the v8s drove ultra with a 440 with a 9 speed RR they like to pull hard i drove on the torque level.
Best truck they made and.I can't even bring myself to say the name of that pathetic company that bought them and killed the mighty V8.

I should keep watching these in cab videos of you driving to get used to driving on the left side of the road for when I visit. 😀
You definitely should mate! Do you have a trip planned down here any time soon?
