Good for you Jay! I am almost 70 and looking for my C5 rite now. Will be the first Corvette I’ve ever owned too. Seems we put everything and everybody else first in life, and forget ourselves. Not any more! I’m gettin’ a convertible, gonna build it a little, then raise all kinds of hell and all without adult supervision! Enjoy Buddy…We deserve it!
Nice Jay. I’m 41 and got my first Corvette ( 2003 50th convertible 6 speed ) with only 57k on the clock. Love the Anniversary red with shale interior. I will be 70yrs and still have this car. That’s how much I love it!
Bought a 2004, 24 Hrs of Le Mans Commemorative edition convertible in June out in Las Vegas (single owner) with just 49K miles on it. Beautiful condition inside and out and always garaged. I don't think the previous owner realized what he had, because I got it for a cool $23K. It has every option, except the F55 suspension (thank God), along with an after-market Kenwood stereo w/ Sirius. This is my third Vette and also my favorite! Keep up the great work, Lyle, love the channel! Cheers!
I just purchased a 2003 50th Anniversary Edition coupe, 115k miles. I'm 57 and it's my first Corvette and I absolutely love it! Had to replace the harmonic balancer right away, but I was expecting that given what I learned from this channel as I researched the C5. Nice to have a car I can work on and like working on, taking me back to much younger days. Just ordered the LED tail lights, side marker, and park lamps from C&S, can't wait to see how it improves the look!
I have a 2003 Special Anniversary Edition convertible. The paint color is stunning. Detail it out with some compound glaze and the color will blind you on a sunny day. As Lyle said, it is an elegant vehicle and I get at least one compliment on it every time that I take it out. Although it is quick, I do not do any street racing in it. Sometimes, I will get it up to 120 if there is a long straight piece of road. Otherwise, as Lyle said, it will never age from an appearance standpoint and is indeed a Grand Touring cruiser
I love my 03. Bought it in Jan of this year. Sadly, the last owner didn't love it so much. I'm fixing and upgrading all the things they neglected. Poor car is looking SO much better now.
So, I had an 04 Z06 Le Mans car. Bought it with 7K on it for $25K. It literally may have been the best C5 in the country. Put just under 6000 miles on it in 3 years so I sold it and bought a new truck. Sold it in Jan 21 for $29 k. Such a mistake. I miss that car SOOOOO much. And today, a little over a year later, its probably worth $36 k. I think I need a c6 grand sport with a 6 speed to ease my pain, preferably in Black, gun metal grey or White. Wouldnt mind building a stormtrooper looking C6.
Hi there, I have a 04 Commemorative convertible purchased 10 Years ago with 6,500 on it a one owner. And now just turned 12k. Your thoughts on a C7 Grand Sport in its place. Would the 04 hold its value in the coming years? I’m on the fence on picking up a C7 Grand Sport 2LT convertible. Not sure on the how collectible the 04 will be after 25 years of age . Thanks
I just bought a 2001 with my favorite color combination, speedway white and red interior. That color combo was hard to come by for me in a C5. 38000 miles and kept mint. I’m so thrilled! I hope Lyle reads this because I’m curious about the color combo and if there were many made in 2001. It’s not a Z, but it has the premium package.
@@sharonhoof8438 Well look no further. I have the same 2001 white C5 with red interior. Never seen another. I have the build sheet and all. Premium package. I have taken it on many trips to Daytona international speedway to watch the Rolex 24 and I even did laps on the speedway once but the wouldn't let us on the banks only on the straights and across the checked flag!!!! 68,000 miles and still going strong. Daily driver.
@@sharonhoof8438 Well I found mine buy pure good fortune. Garage kept for it's life and all service records. Did a little to personalized it to my on taste but mostly stock as it's a daily driver. Is this your first Corvette?
I think the commemorative edition will gain value not only the Z06 but all the commemorative edition, the car is very special, even trying to find the emblems is hard and the emblems are more expensive, than other c5 editions, plus the seat are unique for this edition, interior parts are getting hard to find too, I think this car in excellent condition in a couple of years will be a good collector car. Thanks for that info Lyle 😊👍
I know I’m late the party but I just had the pleasure of seeing this video. It’s not purple, it’s radar blue. There’s a difference… Saying the Pace Car is purple is almost as bad as calling the TA decal a “screaming chicken.” It hurts Lyle…. Anyways, I just discovered your channel. Keep up the great work, super entertaining & educational. Thanks!
Hi Gee Bee! I looked it up and Radar Blue was an actual color in 1998, although the Corvette Black Book lists it as Pace Car Purple. If it is blue, then it is the most purple blue I have ever seen!! Thank you for that bit of knowledge---this is why I love Corvettes...always something new to learn! Lyle :)
I was looking for a 2003 Anny manual coupe when I came across my C6. I really like that color combo. Beautiful cars. The C5'S overall are aging real well.
Good to know about the 50th badge and we're put on all. It's the same thing they did with the 35th Camaro and people trying to all them for more but they are not the true aniversary edition
I must disagree. 2001 had a two tone seat, dash and door panel option. My 2001 Z06 is red and black from the factory. Love your channel and wished I lived near you for service on my Z06 and my 50th convertible
Lyle, the photo of the '98 Pace Car looks like it has a high rise hood scoop. Does it have a scoop, or is it just an optical illusion in the photo that you put up of it? Save the Wave👋
Hola Lyle. Tienes un programa muy valioso. Me gusta. Gracias.
Hi, I have a 2000 corvette with a battery problem. I will add a video on my channel where you can see what I'm talking about. Maybe I don't drive it enough I don't know tomorrow.
@@csvette pricing is what you make of it. If you can afford to hold on to especially the 03 C5’s 50th anniversary series then price them HIGH as there is a buyer for everything. If you can’t afford this classic series Corvette that’s the buyers problem not the sellers problem…

Lyle did all 2003’s other than the anniversary edition car come with the silver painted wheels, are was that just one option?
Silver painted or polished aluminum were the options on non-50th edition cars. Also, the magnesium wheels were an option.
