That's laughable. It is the very worst I have seen. You need to get out more and see MANY MORE AND BETTER BOATS. It's dirt-cheap, but you get your money's worth.
I have been Following the Build of this new yacht and I have made my mind up Im buying one! Its been five years of looking at all the boats the Amel the Nyad and Rustler and it always comes back to Hallberg Rassy. Toby thanks Cheers mate
He seemed really genuinely happy and excited to be demonstrating the wonderful product his company has been able to bring to market. You can tell he really loves building these boats and loves his company, which makes you want to buy a boat, because the builder loves building them so much.
I know very little about sailing however this business owner designer of boats is so passionate about his work and what his team have produced it makes you want to own something like this, purely for the skill, knowledge and the detailed choices that go in to making these boats. I prefer these types of videos with key people who have sweat the tiny details and get seen alongside their products. Great content thank you.
Well it looks beautiful on land and how it performs and holds up under rough conditions out at sea only time will tell and if it’s going to fail out there is where going to happen
@@davidBarrel Hey, not really. A 40 feet is too much for me right now and HR is too expensive anyway. I did a daily skipper rya course and I'm just glad to be back to doing some sailing.
This idea of making the hull length maximise the boat length - it makes so much sense, with the per-foot cost of marinas, etc. You really want to have the biggest bang for your buck.
Yeah although a lot charge on area now so length x beam which puts this at the top end... but if you can afford one of these I don't suppose it matters.
Sitting on a bench in the supermarket this afternoon, lost in my thoughts, and I hear a loud scratching sound. I turn to my side, and the woman sitting next to me is scratching a couple tickets so vigorously, I swear she was scratching her way to China. I hope she won something.
Hallberg - Rassy did it again. In its class, the 40C sets the standard in overall design, practicality, performance and luxury. It is the benchmark boat in effortless sailing. Can't wait to sail it.

Great presentation Toby! Cool interview-really been enjoying your recent content. This boat looks like a winner for a cruising couple. Competing with the smaller Amel for me. Thank you!
This is stunning, even to a landlubber such as myself. I'd sail for about a week max before my feet had to touch dry land, but this little schooner might entice me to stay out a few days longer. Brilliant design, Mr. Rassy, and incredibly executed. Your attention to detail is what sets you apart, like a Rolls-Royce from a Chevrolet: they'll both get you where you wanna go, but how comfortable and happy will you be on the journey? 'Nuff said.
the HR 40C is absolutely beautiful inside and outside. Ondeck and below deck are stunningly functional as well as comfortable. I love the massive wheel and two rudders for precise steering and boat control. The raised helm station platform is a really nice feature for average size people. Thanks. I sure would like to hook a ride
She's easily one of the best blue-water cruisers anywhere to be found and very easily the most spacious and comfy yacht in her class. Kudos to German Frers and Magnus Rassy for that masterpiece. If I were to go on a single-hand circumnavigation, it'd definitely be on a Hallberg-Rassy 40C. I just adore the cockpit layout and design and would feel absolutely safe even under rough conditions.
She looks fast, looks like they've adopted some of the racing concepts from the Open Class boats. Actually cool to see the company owner right there. Thanks Toby.
Hell is freezing over. An old dog is actually listening to a customer base and adding more fridge and freezer space. Well done. Now, give an option that gets rid of that old wood interior. 👍
I’m a little green on sailing and preference, just a quick question, why would you get rid of the wood interior? If I’m not mistaken wood doesn’t allow condensation build up, not that one would need it in an obviously air conditioned boat. Would like to know why you don’t prefer wood, thanks
Nicest layout for a single handed with a dog that i have ever seen. I used to like the Najad but this boat has stolen my adoration, Was not mentioned of the horse power on the Engine. Ok so now it s time to do the conversion into Canadian eh! and that is going to be crazy unfortunately, Love this boat nicest boat i HAVE EVENBR SEEN in this size, I sail a benetau first 375 and I could make the switch immediately, Thanks for this video.
Fantastic boat and love the hull shape. Brilliant getting Magnus to give you a tour. Thanks for the presentation now waiting to see how it fares out on the water, over to you Toby to get out there and give it a run for the money. Will help confirm some sales for Hallberg-Rassy when we can see how it performs.
Super beautiful boats! We almost ended up with a Hallberg Rassy, I love them and think they are some of the beast boats built in the World.. There is just no way I could ever believe that with those large flat sections of hull that boat could be comfortable in a real seaway.
What a gem of a sailboat, quality is palpable. I prefer motor Yachts but this is just glorious, the layout, the liveability capacity, the aesthetics of it. I'm sure sailing in this with fair wind must be boating at its best
Wow, this boat really blew me away....especially the aft bedroom and all the room that it offers. Now if I can only figure out how to purchase it being that it cost around 550K. 😫
Thanks for the video. It was like getting a personal boat show viewing. And from Magnus. Brilliant. Have always loved HR and they really have taken yacht design and build to another level. From the Rolls Royce like detail of being able to order matching replacement veneered panels to the significant hull design changes. Wow! And the price is actually very good value for such a sophisticated 45 / 40 foot yacht. Should be fast reaching and in most seas sail up wind pretty well. Windage will be greater but fancy electronics will cover docking and slow speed issues. Just need to nip over from Australia... cheers
Actually Toby, I agree with previous comments that you’ve somehow stepped up; and make me wish I could buy almost boat you present nowadays ... informative and entertaining.
Keeling the mast and headsails with greater lateral resistance ahead of the sails. The retractable wing keel is under the mast and the blade for the headsails begins at the midpoint between the mast and forestay. This is wing keel and blade keeled stem to stern keel line for a sailboat design.
Your blade keeling is always deeper in the bow. The headsail and keeling should be 2 to 4 times the keeling of the mast. Righting ballast to rollover the the boat if she is recreational.
This boat is the best one I have seen. Even 3 years after this video was put out. Love this boat!
It's a piece of junk. Small cockpit, you have to climb all over it like a jungle gym. Jeanneau 410 way better.

Wow, Toby, what a coup...getting a personal tour by Magnus the Man. Thanks for that video.
