I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this Scandinavian boat is just under 15M/50 feet. This means that (at least here in Norway) you could operate it with a simple boating license you can do in a day (only theory), or even no license at all if born before 1980.
Wow, so I could take command of one of these without having a clue what I am doing. Might be ok for a little runabout but a 50 footer. Blimey. There’s no way I ever would actually do that. But the fact I could seems a little irresponsible.
@@foxxster3565 if you have the responsibility to put yourself behind the helm of a multi million dollar yacht, the chances are you understand responsibility
When I first started watching these videos, all I wanted to see was the really big and lavish super yachts. However, after watching Jack drive the smaller boats that are beautiful in their own right, I am far more interested those types of videos. Seeing boats with nice interiors that have great performance capabilities (speed / maneuverability) is far more exciting to observe.
Excellent presentation. I like the honesty of pointing out issues like the heat of the teak or head height gets restricted on one side of the master. What a boat, practical design, great functionality and looks great. So much in it but smart like dropping the height over the seating area and so keeping the overall height and windage down.
Great video Jack. I really love your obvious enthusiasm for the clever design touches. It's amazing how builders keep finding new solutions for storage and ease of use. This is a masterpiece, clearly built by people who enjoy boating and want to build the boat they would like to live with.
I keep being amazed by the simple quality of the photography of the boats. I'm a little old to do the clambering around the engine room - but that is what children are for.
I always love your yacht tours Jack, but I love them. The Best is when you’re way out in the middle of the ocean. there are a few less distractions. Love Scandinavian boats.
Agreed but if want to get on boats early it tends to be at boat shows! Hopefully we’ll be able to sea trial it in more relaxed surroundings soon enough - thanks for watching! J
Fantastic boat. In many respects and in 90% of conditions I’d prefer it over the large Sargo, Targa and NordStar offerings, given its superior accommodation . Looks good value, relatively.
About a month ago, i gave this boat ✅✅✅✅✅✅. On this second look as the best boat of 2024, I still liking very much. That drop down window in cockpit is absolutely great. Its quiet, sun protection and privacy for guests amd owners. Nice comfortable cabin, she a non fussy boat, what you see is what you get. Very useful and eell designed yacht .
I watched so many videos about this boat! It's an amazing design indeed. The twin cabin can be transformed into an office if required. Great review as always!
Great video and you really kept you promise! Great video and my favorite boat!!! I think the best boat in his class with great details and a the best design ever!
Brilliant, thank you Jack I was so excited to see this on here today really interesting boat ticks so many boxes for me I really don't think there is any compromise, unbelievable at least than 50'.
So glad you've reviewed this Nimbus Jack 👍 It was on my (too long) list of requested reviews lol. I think this is a fabulous boat, better than many much bigger rivals. I'm saving your review until i can see it on a big screen, though 👍😆
Great tour Jack@Yachtbuyer, she is a cracker! Loads of innovative, well thought out features, 3 cabins, 2 heads is a big bonus. Fave features are the outdoor kitchen, glass rear cockpit window and the flybridge table has the only sink I've ever gone 'wow' at! 😂 Can't wait for the sea trial 👍👏
Wonderful owner operator MY. Some really clever design features like the drop down window at the stern and the larger engine access. Overall it looked like a quality, functional product ideal for families who want to head out at a weekend or even a weeks cruising. Looking forward to the sea trial. Excellent whistle-stop presentation Jack, hope you caught your flight home!
I got to drive one of these at a boat show, it was showing of the new Volvo Penta engine, so I got to use joystick and it was just insane. So I totally agree that it's the boat of the year
We have a Nimbus 380 commander and the design of that Boat is very unique, Nimbus have done it again and I would absolutely love to get the chance to spend some time on the 49 the aft cotpit looks fantastic so many design features I like.
May I ask of the build quality. If I were buying a car I would understand all the manufacturers quality. Boats I don’t know. Princess quality, sunseeker etc. I am looking at a sirena due to the A rated classification. These Nimbus look very well made and I have asked a few people in our local marina but none of them have any knowledge of the brand.
Excellent review, as always - and wonderful boat. More Nimbus products, history and stories, please. I’m in Seattle and this looks like it would be a terrific boat for Puget Sound and parts north, as well as inland lakes like Coeur D’ Alene, Chelan, Lake Washington. Thank you.
I LOVE this yacht! The only thing that would be a real issue for me would be the VERY limited refrigeration. There MUST be more places they can add it! Also, if they could add more dry food storage - maybe in the floor somewhere? Other than those, it has some very intelligent design features!
Very clever interior and exterior - especially the hard glass back window to the cockpit!! But truly a clever laid out boat. If this could be fitted with one or two smaller engines for a more trawler style yacht travel, this would get a lot of buyers, as the interior/exteriour is so accommodating .... Thank you for the tour - great job for all of us "Screen sailors"
Thinking of changing my user name to 'broken record' 😜. I really like the modern looks of this boat and the layout and finishes. The coordination between Jack and camera man is superb, never misses what's going on and the visuals are always relevant and interesting. 👍❤️🇬🇧
I am really taken with this boat. Great size and so many clever functions. If they can do a side door, with a boarding gate, next to the helm then why can't Sunseeker and Princess? A great boat for a couple with occasional guests. In my top five already. Nice tour, Jack, I really look forward to the sea trial.
I think you like this boat ✅ helm ✅cabins ✅ exterior ✅ salon ✅ storage ✅ flybridge. Clever design is a ✅. Oh yeah engine room apart from head room is a ✅. In short a quick review, but the the dra trial should confirm that this is s fabulous boat, ❤. A Jack type of boat. Thanks.
Oh that fly bridge with the sunbed right to my Right for my wife or me to stay close with is very comfy. The sink in the middle of the table is very unique and I like it...but I do see some shall we say snobs to not like that as much. Do you think if thay got rid of the bunk bed room they could make the master full height with the added space...? That wiper control is just game changing for me. Absolutely genius in it's simplicity. Would love to see this version at 60 for more room for activity and making the engine room more shall we say comfy.
When will you this boat a sea trial on con conditions you tested Targa 46 and Nordic 49? That would be awesome to see how the hull behaves! But the smaller Nimbus hull looks a much more smoother ride then this
Fantastic boat and a nice tour as usual, only question in my mind is... Wouldn't it be better with a forward master because of the restricted headroom?
I’m sure this boat is quite capable out on the water. Too many livability compromises for me though (except the excellent hem stations). Headroom is too low in the accommodation level and the engine room too cramped. I don’t want to have to raise the entire cockpit deck to do more than doing daily checks. Does the table need to be removed to do this? It feels more like a 45 footer in scale.
I rather like the look of the boat than the design. Some of the ergonomic choices are pretty off. Like... the praised hooks in the kitchen are right were your thighs pass while going in and out. A great spot to get hurt. Onother excample: by the looks of it, the bowthrusters are slightly to much to the right side. I can't imagine a comfy way to move your hands while pushing the thrusters to the right. In the video you cleverly pushed the with your fingertips to the left. I can clearly see a reason, why! ;o) I saw a lot of these little inconviniences during the tour. Boat of the year? Meh... idk... Ending the comment with a compliment: I really loved the looks of the boat und liked the presentation.
Great video; but What do you do if you are in Australia as I am and you are cooking on the bbq so the smoke doesn’t blow into the salon But your back is too the sea What happens if a Great White fancies your arse for breakfast? 😂 It’s all in the detail
Can never take these boats seriously as ocean going vessels with the open flybridge at the top - OK for cruising the Med but useless for serious boating. Would also die of heatstroke in warmer climates with no shade.
Too much money for this littel fibreglass canoe. With $1.2 Million you could go to Bering in Turkey and have them build something from Steel Aluminum with a greater gross tonnage for that price. That could potentially cross the Atlantic.
Lol, you absolutely could not... A 12 year old Bering 60 is currently for sale for close to $2 million. Also, absolutely no one in the market for this is looking for a boat that can cross the Atlantic. That's like telling someone who's considering a luxury car that they could buy a Landrover that can cross Africa for less money...
@@omarwilliams6729 Riva yachts what? The fact you bringing up yet another brand that has doesn't even produce boats in the same segment makes me question if you actually know anything about boats... A 48ft Riva Dolceriva is OVER $2 million and has way less space and practicality compared to a 50ft flybridge boat. Rivas smallest flybridge yacht is 82ft and costs over $6 lol.
@BilldalSWE Riva exudes style and class bro. That's what I'm talking about.. Oh and for your info, I own a yacht.. 2022 Turquoise... I WON'T tell you anymore... Trust me, Fam! The 50' mark has big implications internationally. From licensing and insuring all the way to moorage rates and even the Panama Canal passage.
Wow, so I could take command of one of these without having a clue what I am doing. Might be ok for a little runabout but a 50 footer. Blimey. There’s no way I ever would actually do that. But the fact I could seems a little irresponsible.
